Today its time to fly out the Fw 190 A-1 in a Realistic Battle. Flew out with the Fw 190 A-1 yesterday for the first time since release of 1.65, The way of the samurai. And found out exactly what this plane is about, lets see how it went. Hope you enjoy :)

I love these types of matches with good pilots 1v1 at the end as well. Great games often go longer than 30 min!

Very enjoyable to watch. I admire your ability to stay cool when its 1 vs 6 at that point my heartrate would be skyhigh. Too bad this match only leaves you with 2500 rp. Well done!!!

What a coincidence! Napalmratte also uploaded a video about this plane today as well, although he totally trashed the flight model and bias thunder. Interesting to see the difference in opinions between two players.
i went to watch it, i agree with him you're in trouble when you get low and slow, the options in the plane arnt good then. But staying disciplined in the B&Z role you dont have to get low and slow. I personally really like the B&Z style, thus the plane suits my style and patience, although in the match i showed i had to go to lower altitude sooner then i would have liked as well :)

haha, i did a few fw's lately, but havnt had too much trouble with the instructor, but maybe i just fight him unconsiously after all these years ;)
regarding the instructor of course every option i can turn off is turned off. I have a review up on the japanese fw, you should check it out ;)
WOW! Here is a lesson in what a lack of teamwork can undo. Those nincompoops had a 7-1 advantage and pissed away by doing their own thing and doing stupid things, like attacking an airfield alone and bunch of boats alone where the AAA makes it suicidal. The only guy on their team who had any brains at all, was the zero pilot. If they had acted together and pressed their advantage, they'd have won. It also says a lot about Jengar's team that these nincompoops where able to crush them.
Great match Jengar, you played it expertly. Great flying and sound tactics equals victory. Epic win against 7-1.
Thank you very much Julian, totally agreed on your points :D Some of those guys just trew their planes away, and would have given my a lot of trouble had they coordinated their efforts with the zero pilot, who was a handfull to deal with on his own already.

What a match, dude. The last fight against the Zero was amazing!
Ace in a day is always a great outcome. Just had one of these last man standing matches in G50 against 5 soviet biplanes. That took some careful engagements and poor soviet pilots to survive, but I did manage to win the match.
An ace in a day is always fun :) its great to pull those kind of matches out of a hopeless situation :)
got the quickest ace of my life in this bird last night.. got rewarded a talisman for the a-4 woot :)
You have incredible patience. I get bored during matched like that and instead of drag them out will land, repair, and bail. You have several videos of long extending times that are good piloting, but I seem too impatient for.
Fair enough Joseph, we all have a different setup as a person. I indeed have great patience and almost rub my hands in glee when i get into these 1 vs many situations :)
You make me want to practice some more patience though. You often have incredible matches to show off.

I find that there is quite the performance difference between AB, and RB. In a fighter, it felt like flying bombers in AB. I initially thought I was doing something wrong.
I see it can be done though. It just probably just takes getting used to.
the a-1 is great both in ab and rb. Just requires patience, and strict B&Z
"He only got .50 Cals" lol :D .50 Cals are the strongest guns in Air RB. You one shot everything and can do so from 2-3 km away just by taking potshots at anything that moves. But i agree, The A-0 is a nice plane, just wish you could replace the useless cannons with .50 Cals.
50 cals are not the strongest guns in air rb mate, most 20mm shells are more powerfull, the swedisch 13.2's are stronger too, soviet berezin's are also debatably equal at least.

I confess, my commentwas probably really objectiv. I just started the german tree after maxing out the american tree. The cannons just feel so weak compared to .50Cals.
Part of the reason why i looked the FW 190 up on youtube. Had some really frustrating games.

@@13deadghosts when the mg 151 rounds land they destroy things. you need to lead a good bit more then 50 cals though.

Great video....I love this plane as well...but when I go back to play now after a few patches now.....I've noticed that it over heats very quickly. I'm just wondering if you seen this same thing as you were reviewing the plane for the video. And as always, great video buddy!
yeah it overheats, but i find it cools off very easy at 95%, takes 10 seconds or so, after that you can wep again.
thats true for a lot of planes, without leaks the A-1 doesnt have a unmanageble overheating problem, because it cools down so easily.

Took me awhile to watch this one, but I love flying the 190's. I'm building a Fw190 D9 R/C plane. It should be fun.

Yea, I know what you mean. This is a 1:6 scale and normally R/C have a little larger surface even though their scale. I hope Ha ha

Maybe you can help with this, I just started flying this plane, I am having issues with the propeller stopping to turn after a dive. It seems to happen when I bring the throttle to 0% before I dive. But when I have power on the throttle while diving the propeller works fine. Never seen this before. Any idea?
I should also mention that the engine works fine. Just the prop completely stops, which puts me right in the ditch eventually lol

Have you ever had a chance to fly in VR?
I recently bought an Oculus Rift and it opens up a fantastic new challenge for me in playing War Thunder. Any advice from you on how to be a better pilot using it would sure be great.

I don't mind that it does not trun very fast. But I'm unable to aim due to its fast roll. Every time I move mouse to the side to adjust aim, it makes a spiral. So I'm unable to aim whenever target is not exactly aligned with my pitch axis (whenever I need even very little yaw).
smooth flowing moves are key. make sure to fly mostly with the keyboard.
i wonder if using a spiral climb with this plane will it be effective?
sometimes it is, its not the greatest at it, but sometimes its the best option!
Kinda cringed up when you fire those MG FF/M at long range, but otherwise nice play :)

What is that move you say the zero pulled? You made it sound like an exploit. Or you just mean he's very nimble and can pull a hard turn? I couldn't see what exactly he did :)
Zlatko Makedonski The zero was in like 2 seconds after the head-on after Jengar. They turn very good. If Jengar didn't know that, he would have been killed in a few seconds
Zlatko Makedonski The split ESP leaves the zero with lots of speed to stay with you.
its not an exploit, but players not aware of this move can feel that it is one ;) the zero is very dangerous with its sharp spilt s after a headon, and i've seen many ppl die from it, was shot down a few times myself over the years by that move. It's just something to be aware of when facing zero's.

What is your favorite plane to fly in RB, and why?
i cant answer that question, there's too many planes i like equally. But i like rollrate and elevator control on my planes, makes for great defensive flying :) I like to have options. But on the other hand i can also fly disciplined to a few strenghts a plane has, its all good, and thus i like a lot of planes.
What did the A6M do on the Head on after you avoided his shots?
the split s ploy every single time mate, i edited parts out at a certain point, as we were doing that for 10+ minutes or so ;)

You literally have no ability to turn the thing at all. Which is not true to the actual aircraft. If you are matched against faster planes (which you always will be), you will also be at a further disadvantage. One of my favorite planes in history but I can't do anything with it in WT. I stick to Spitfires.
Why fly this garbage at 3.3 when you can have 109 E-series starting at 2.0 E-1? Stock this thing doesn't pick up speed at all.
In AB tank battles, I butcher AFK m18s and any other plane that exists.

600m for wingmounted guns, 800m for centrally mounted guns.
