Yep, under the tarp. I've never had a problem with sparks. You just need to carefully choose firewood. Some wood sparks more than others. Thanks!

Man you really need to work on your hatchet safety. So many rules broken and you even nicked yourself (or almost did. I didn’t see blood). You can’t cut corners in the backcountry, especially in a survival situation
