@@CaptainCraigKWMRZ Then what are all those people standing on the dock just to the right of where the boats collided? Looks like a crowd of people to me.
Man that passenger side prop absolutely shredded the top half of their hatch. If you've ever seen or touched those props (cleaver) in person, they're basically razor sharp.
Definitely a thumb up for a great video about a woman enjoying herself. I have no idea why those other voices are there and what's with all these boats.
I saw Miss Geico one time in 2018 or 19 at the Fort Lauderdale Air Show with the Blue Angels, and since then I watched Super Boat Races, I watch it every once in awhile and I love the Wrecks as long as no one’s hurt.
Similar thing happened at Coffs Harbour in Australia. 1 boat dropped a prop in front of the other boat, lost speed and other boat ran over the top. It's possible the lead boat drop the right prop causing it to turn right and lose speed. The result would be the same.
A lost prop would slow them down and then the turn toward the pit was either intentional, ...or caused by the left prop pushing them hard to starboard.
CMS 3 was turning to get off the course directly in the path of CT Marine, That is some screwed up BS as the Marshall should have told them to maintain course.
@@bigstyx first off, maritime law doesn't really pertain to racing. Not only have boats but also race them. Exiting the course in a 200mph straight away was a bad move period. They can’t see anything when there in the rooster tail and they don’t know where they are in the rooster tail cause it’s 70ft long and they were trying it turn out if it
Watch a POV video of in side the cockpit while in the roost of another race boat or two, you can’t see shit. Like mention above, they have comma with spotters just like nascar drivers do while navigating through a wreck.
Not sure as to why the boat in front seemed to be in the path of the approaching boat at speed, but being on the water at high speed racing should be like F1 racing where there should be markers for pit entry or in this case, cones or ribbons to indicate pit entry where the driver behind can have more of an indication of the intentions of the boat in front of him. They can even place flashing light beacons on the rear of boats so that even at bouncing high speeds, the driver behind gets an indication someone is slowing down and can negotiate where he will go or make new rule to pass only on the left/right depending on the direction of circuit when approaching where pit area is located. It's really cool stuff checking out racing at super speeds on the water but there should also be more safety protocols in place to avoid accidents like this one. the course is basically wide open with general width lanes and direction of travel, but it should also have a slow down section, flags, bouys, etc. where drivers know that a boat is approaching the pits or to run slow in the section to avoid accidents.
Stomper there are rules already in place and CMS the orange hull did not comply with them. The momentum carried by the white cat meant that even after cutting the throttles they were beyond saving it. They were likely doing around 150mph here, trying to catch the catamaran in front. CMS should have gone to the inside of the circuit and only crossed the racing line after receiving radio approval from race control to do so.
In support of CMS that's not the first time I've seen boats slow down and go right in to the pit area w/o moving into the inside safety area. SBI needs to express in no uncertain terms that all boats having issues should move over into the center area and wait for permission to cross.
I agree with emergency flashers on the sterns of the boats to warn the boats behind of issues and SBI should have a general hailing frequency which must always be in operation in all boats throughout the race for instant communication. As to running slow every lap past the pit area son that ain't gonna happen lol. The only way to slow a propeller-driven boat is to chop the throttles and the boat won't lose speed fast enough. Then there's the acceleration issue on the other side.
That was not the situation at hand. The CMS boat lost their right outdrive and decelerated very quickly and turned to the right without any control. The CT Marine boat did not have anywhere to go except into the crowed or over the top of CMS.
