- Utakata has always been a decent character for me in the past Storm games and was easily overshadowed by the top tiers. In Storm Connections he makes a return and in my opinion he is better than ever. His neutral is amazing, his combo damage is insane if you have perfect control over your buttons and his jutsus are nice. Thanks to @Karumaru- I will showcase this character to you all, since I've been requested to play with him.
Utakata has two primary jutsus that can both cause a combo extension on hit. His first jutsu lets him travel around in a bubble. It doesn’t grant you any special frames on start-up, but once you enter the bubble you will have invincibility frames the whole duration of it. This jutsu can also be connected after a grab, which makes it a great extension tool and it causes a lot of damage too.
His second jutsu causes the opponent to crumble on hit. You can continue your combo on hit or connect it with a grab. After the grab you can also continue the combo and connect it with an ultimate or with his first jutsu. This is a great tool to use during an infinite for extra damage.
Utakata is a very interesting point character, but as an assist he might be lacking in more ways than one. All of the tools I have discussed before are also his assists. They have poor range and are only effective at close range. Furthermore, they have no way of saving you in the air so that’s also a letdown.
Overall, Utakata is definitely a really good point character in my opinion and definitely deserves a chance in your main team if you haven’t checked him out!

If you do his full combo and then use his ranged attack it all perfectly strings together. I do that and use supports for extensions and end it with the grab it he surprisingly does really good damage. I'm glad they finally made him viable. He's one of my favorite characters in the series. That's a nice combo route and will definitely try it out when I use him again. Nice explanation about how you use your assists to extend your combos. The synergy on this team is really great and I can see why you main them😉.

It's okay to lose in the beginning, but after some practice I believe you can make him look this strong too😉. Just implement the combos I showcase in the video in your own gameplan and give them that work🙏💪.

Actually it's not busted (your combos only work when you exhauste theirs substation ) so you worked for it

Roshi : 1 a range Jutsu 2 trap jutsu
Utakata : 1 the explosive bubbles who can be used defensively 2 the Buble travel give more mobility
A range attacker used in a clever fashion is always good to see
Great breakdown of the characters!💪 100% agree with you on your take. He definitely is a character that makes you work hard for the results you are looking for during a match. Once you have met those requirements you can dish out a great amount of damage with him and that's the thing I personally like about him.😁

Totally agree with you on this! He is really strong in this game and his setups are amazing🙌. Also a really strong assist💪
i'm not sure why people dislike ranged characters. I generally like them because they are unique since there isn't much of them. For the most part ranged characters have to be really careful about their substitution gauge as well from what i've seen and personally is that those type of players tend to be a bit more easily shaken up if someone gets to close to them.
100% agree with your statement on this matter! It's always nice to see different types of playstyles in the game and how everyone adapts to all of it. It gives more room for counterplay and improvements overall, while also thinking of multiple team compositions.
It all shows in the way that you also analysed the patterns of ranged players. It's a great message that you have written down and it gives more insight on how ranged players think during a match🙏.

Exactly! They are amazing in this game in my opinion. Their jutsus have great properties and are more unique than the standard ones (Rasengan, fire ball, etc). Having invincibility frames on some of 'em is just great🔥 and being able to go through some of the busted jutsus (Ashuras wind wall) is the biggest win for me🙏💪
Utataka is maybe balanced or maybe busted hard to tell but he’s broken in the least LMAO
Yeah I guess it definitely depends on the player and the playstyle to decide if he truly is busted. His damage is insane though and he has a poison tag👀🙏

Imean everyone got their opinion and I can see why you say that. His assists are mid I agree on that, but he is a very solid (point) neutral character that gives you a lot of control of your buttons🙏
I gotta say,this game is way too simple for news..no special skills just endless attacks…rip connections
It is unfortunate that the game doesn't add many new 'significant' changes to it, but we have to take what we can get at this point. There are still fun stuff in the game that makes it feel new like the improved functions of the battle mechanics, the introduction of a 2nd jutsu and counters being adjusted. All the characters being patched and adjusted is also what makes it feel fresh.
The simplicity of Storm is what made it receive the praise of many and it wouldn't be so successfull if that wasn't the case. I do wish that they would have taken more risk in changing some more, but we can't easily break this winning formula they have created😔. All we can do is hope for a more advanced Storm game in the future.🙏

Does Utakata still have his poison debuff when his Ultimate lands? I remember him having that on Storm 4
Yes he still has the debuff in Connections🙏. Luckily they didn't remove it from his Ultimate, because that actually made it more unique than other Ultimates in my opinion😁

@@nightvoice8736 Yeah understandable🤣. I usually throw a poison tag mid combo, because the duration and damage will be much higher the earlier it hits him in the combo and it stacks with the ult one😉. The poison debuff from the ult alone doesn't last too long though when hit raw. Only like 3-4 seconds I believe and it does less damage than the tag.
