Correction about the Tsukuyomi; there is no set time limit for it’s duration, Itachi just usually only puts enough chakra into it for the 72 hours = 3 seconds version. The strongest usage of the Tsukuyomi that we’ve seen was when Itachi used it to kill Izumi, his love interest. What Itach did to her through the Tsukuyomi was make her live out a happy life with him, wherein she eventually died of old age within the genjutsu and promptly died IRL. When Itachi did this, in reality only a fraction of a second passed.

I just realised why Madara, Pain, Obito and Sasuke's Rinnegans have access to the same abilities but Momoshiki and Urashiki do not. It is because chakra inside humans originally belonged to Hagaromo. This is why they didn't gain the Rinnegan abilities of Momoshiki and Urashiki. The humans with the Rinnegan have chakra that was initially naturally created by Hagaromo's body and DNA. This is why Momoshiki and Urashiki have very different Rinnegan abilities than Madara and Sasuke because Momoshiki and Urashiki produced their Rinnegan from their own unique chakra, not Hagaromo's. I always thought it was weird why the Rinnegan of Otsutsuki can't use the Paths abilities like almighty push or to summon the king of hell, but it's because their Rinnegans use chakra unique to their DNA.
That’s a huge leap. Sharingan users have different abilities even though they originated from the same source and if it were chakra based then wouldn’t sasuke and madara have the same abilities since they were both Indra incarnations

@@brantmorse1900 Maybe. Sasuke and Itachi both have Amaterasu, except they also had their own second mangekyo ability. Sasuke also had flame control for precise Amaterasu accuracy and shape manipulation and Itachi had Limited Tsukuyomi, which allowed him to cast a genjutsu so strong that time in the genjutsu is warped which overloads the victim's brain with too much information all at once.
So rinnegan kinda work like mangekyo sharingan, as in they are unique to the user and that all human rinnegan are just Jagoromo's but at a smaller scale

The Hyuga were the most wasted potential. If the Tenseigan was as easily accessible as the Mangekyo Sharingan, they would easily be the most powerful clan. They also have Gentle Fist which completely shuts down chakra networks, similar to chi blockers in Avatar TLA. This could have had the potential to become a hard counter to some of the crazy chakra based techniques seen in the show, but was never explored. While I loved some of the Uchiha characters, they were overrated. The lore is that the Uchiha were tired of war and many of them died to the Senju. Would have loved to see Hinata inherit that ability or the very least seen the upgrade in Boruto.
I think, technically, Hinata and the other Byakugan users could still get a Tenseigan, they would just have to aquire some Otsutsuk ichackra, which is easier said than done but not impossible with how many they are batteling in Boruto. Or she could take some of Narutos and Sasukes chackra (in the form of a blood transfusion or an eye transplantation you dirty minds) technically mixing it to a form of sage of six paths and therefore Otsutsuki chackra. This should, if the chackra mixing is really the thing that unlocks the Dojutsu, activate a Tenseigan in her eyes.
@@lordhuntington5704 I doubt she'd be able to inherit it that way. The only way Naruto and Sasuke inherited and awakened SSP power was because they received it from Hagaromo himself. I'm pretty sure Orochimaru could do some shenanigans to reverse engineer the Tenseigan if he knew more about it. I think Toneri is still alive though.

Why would an Eye that rivals the Rinnegan ever be as easy to get as the Mangekyo Sharingan anyway? Most people don't even know the Mangekyo Sharingan exists. Plus, The Mangekyo isn't even easy to get as it is. Imagine having to the kill the person you love the most.
Upon reviewing the Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan, I’ve just realized that Obito’s backstory episodes in Shippuden already revealed to us that the supposed path of evolution of the Sharingan was a lie. Obito awakened his Sharingan for the first time purely out of an all-consuming desire to protect his friends (specifically Kakashi at that moment). He later awakened his Mangekyo simply from SEEING Rin die, without having to do it himself.

Kakashi had Obito's Sharingan. If we assume Sharingans are psychically linked, then a possibility could be Kakashi awakening MS by killing Rin, then Obito got the software update through pairing.
Also Obito's Sharingan made Kakashi's killing move viable, so by the transitive property, Obito did kill Rin.

I swear one of the biggest flaws with Naruto is how overpowered Kishimoto made the Uchiha. It just completely strayed away from the original themes preached in the show about hardwork trumping natural born talent.
I disagree. They were naturally gifted but that was exactly what led to their end. The government was afraid of them yet envious of their eyes. Shisui was pretty much seen as an secret weapon by the government and his clan bc of his genjutsu. And most Uchiha were just normal ninja that never even unlocked it. They only look op bc the very few legendary Uchiha that were forces to be reckoned with were focused on for the plot.

Kinda crazy how the Sharingan can make the user physically stronger. Makes me think the Uchiha’s potential is limitless and how an EMS Madara could keep up with Sage Mode Hashirama.
Sharingan doesn't make the user physically stronger, the Uchiha power comes from the potency of their chakra. The more potent a person's chakra is, the less amount is required to cast powerful jutsu (hence why Itachi was so OP). Whereas Indra and his descendants inherited powerful chakra, Ashura and his descendants made up for the lack of potency with the ability to mould and generate high amounts of chakra. (Yin vs. Yang)

Corrections about the Sharingan. The Eye of Hypnotism and Insight are just names give to abilities. Each eye is isn’t labeled as each, which is clearly shown by Kakashi who was able to use both abilities. The Mangekyo abilities don’t kill the user, it just blinds them. Madara wasn’t dying at all, and the version we first see was a fabricated story to make Madara look more like a blood thirst, power hunger killer who would take his own brothers life for power. Also We know how you get EMS. You just transplant your eyes with the others, and the abilities don’t merge. Sasuke does not have Tsykuyomi and he already had Amaterasu.

@@rakhatthenut3815 did we watch the same video? He literally called the Eye of hypnotism and the eye of insight as if they were separate eyes and not just names given to abilities. There’s also the fact that he directly said the Mangekyo would kill your if you used it to much. It doesn’t. The mangekyo just makes you blind if you over use it and the only instance of it actually killing it’s users is Itachi, who died not because of the Mangekyo, but because the Mangekyo was using up is stamina and straining is already dying body. Also how did NC not see and hear the entire section about how you get EMS. We literally just see Sasuke implant his Itachi’s eyes into his and let them set in, and how did he think that they give you the original users mangekyo abilities when we never see Sasuke use Tsukuyomi and he has never in any official media been said to be able to use it, and if he had Tsukuyomi, he wouldn’t be able to use his Kagatsuchi. Honestly, I wonder how NC is a “Naruto UA-camr” when he either forgets complete sections and aspects of the story or just makes up his own random shit and treats it as canon.
I thinking the same thing when watching this. Some abilities were left out for the Byakugan too. Byakugan also gives the user enhanced reflexes like the Sharingan. Something we see mainly in Otsutsuki’s purer Byakugan, they seem to have an ability similar to a lighter almighty push and the ability to someone’s fate or future.
I think that the hyuga were done dirty by power creep. if you look at how it was originally with the sharingan allowing you to copy jutsu and the Byakugan glowing a person to see great distances, through solid objects and chakra points, then it actually puts it slightly above the sharingan, but because Sasuke was the lancer to Naruto, they needed to add to its ability, which led to the slippery slope that devolved into the sharingan being what it is now. had things stuck as they were originally for abilities, then the Hyugas position makes perfect sense
I always thought that Boruto having the Jougan could be explained by the fact that he is both the son of a Hyuga and an Uzumaki (Senju), basically being the only known person in existance who has both Hagoromo and Hamura DNA.
By the way, you heard it here first. If Boruto and Sarada ever marry and have a kid, he or she will probably have a Rinnegan.

If you think about it they would have incredible powers if they had kids. Cause it’s possible that from the latent hyuga powers in Boruto they could get the Byaukugan. And since Boruto is like 80% otsutski they could get a tenseigan. And since Boruto has both hamura and hagaromos dna and even chakra since naruto and hinata both received chakra from them and are descendants of them. Also Sarada being an Uchiha could combine with boruto’s uzumaki dna which could even greater increase their chances of getting a rinnegan from hagaromos chakra. They could also get a rinnesharingan from hagaromo and hamuras chakra. Plus Sarada’s sharingan. Also they might get the jougan. So in other words they would be broken and is basically just a half otsutski with every dojutsu known to otsutski and man.

I think Renmarus version of the ones own life jutsu is tied to his dojutsu. He can see life force or life energy and chackra so at some point in his life, he could very well have found a way to manipulate/transfer these energies.
As to why he isn't dead from this, maybe it's because he is a child and thus has just more life force to spare than granny chiyo so maybe if she was younger she also could have survived reviving Gaara.
Another possibility is that it has something to do with a sort of precision. For example, let's assume your life force is stored in a specific point in your body, let's say your heart, stomach or wherever. With the ones own life jutsu, it might be the case that you normally would just blast all your life force into a person until you refill their life reservoir. Renmaru however could directly apply his life energy to that point thus saving the rest that would normally be lost with a widespread attempt.
Anyways, those are my theories on the topic, hope they brought someone some enjoyment ^^
you know i completely frogot the life force aspect of his dojustu, i just remember theorizing with my friends over a decade ago, how his dojutsu is probably created from an uchiha and hyuga eloping together and making a new bloodline that has a lot of the benefits of both clan's bloodlines.
It has the enhanced cognitive abilities of both the sharingan and byakugan (letting him perceive everything within his range without information overload to his brain), the range enhancement of the sharingan(telescopic vision in one direction), the instant genjutsu application of the sharingan and the sharingan's ability to turn on and off (without it constantly being seen as a dojutsu eye, something only the sharingan could do at that time in the anime and manga) meanwhile it also has the Byakugan's ability to see through all objects, see the tenketsu points of people as well as it being implied that the growth of the dojutsu is like that of the byakugan with the range becomes better with use over time, whilst the basic abilities are like the sharingan where they are merely a medium that enhances genjutsu by a fixed amount.
honestly even all these years later i still remember the conversations with my friends about the mixing of bloodlines and how if the genjutsu and stealth aspects of his dojutsu grow like the byakugan (continuously but slowly) and are not fixed like the sharingan. The clan Ranmaru could have started with his bloodline would on average grow to be far more powerful than the average hyuga or uchiha. (mind you we were theorising the average members, not the direct decendants of god aliens or their reincarnations or super inbread alien-human hybrids, rather just their average human members members (aka chunin level ninja (or low level special jonin) with the dojutsu and training to use them))
Everybody wants the Sharingan, but there's always a huge price to pay.

The byakugan is highly underrated just because its users weren't proficient enough in using it. If you can see and manipulate chakra points in a person all it takes is a single punch to open the gate of death and they would crumble into dust. Without training they would never be able to utilise the power given to them by the gate for even a nanosecond and would just die. Not to mention disabling anyone by opening a weaker gate. This is just one use that has never been explored because of "muh sharingan" being so important in the story for shitty reasons.
Also I think Hyuga clan members focus too much on their byakugan abilities. Sharingan users tend to be more well rounded using various Jutsu. Hyuga clan members just get obsessed with doing more rotations for small gains in power. A hyuga clan member with Itachi levels of skill would be extremely dangerous.
Theoretically you could just open someones 8th gate. Sure they may slaughter you depending on comparative skill, but it's a sure fire way to kill someone.
I wish Kishimoto would've delved more into the Byakugan, but I think I know why he actually didn't.
The Gentle Fist is too broken. Just the fact that he didn't give Neji a single elemental jutsu or didn't add to it anything past basic blue chakra proves to me that he knew he had gone too far with that concept. Something as simple as turning the chakra hitting the tenketsu points into wind/air after contact could've been lethal; either some of it ends up in the bloodstream and it causes a heart attack or the pressure of being trapped inside the muscles tears them apart.

The fact that the Otsusukis have a constant byakugan is insane. The hyugas literally have the eyes of the gods and it doesn't even have as strong as a drawback as the sharingan.
Madara getting his Rinnesharigan from the ten-tails who was getting it from Kaguya. Isn't that how all the tailed beast kekkei genkai work. Like Roshi can use lava release by projecting son goku who is like 1/8 of kaguya's chakra, So Roshi is just getting kaguya's lava release.

I think Izanagi is actually linked to the Multiverse. The Izanagi is said to be able to rewrite reality so it can be used to undo choices, but it was weird to see Danzo not use his Izanagi to make Sasuke simply not exist or for Sasuke to slip and fall resulting in his death or for Danzo to delete all his enemies and make himself Hokage of a utopian world. I think this is because the Izanagi is not actually able to rewrite reality like a god but to access the Multiverse to change only the user's choices. We only see the Izanagi bring its user back to life (Danzo, Obito, Madara) they are doing this by replacing their past choice of actions with a different choice of action taken in another Universe. The Multiverse is the idea that infinite Universes of infinite possibilities exist at the same time because of a branch in choice. For example, if someone chooses to punch themself, then a branch Universe is created where the person didn't choose to punch themself. Danzo used his Izanagi to swap his dead self with another Danzo taken from a Universe where his body is still alive. This works by rewinding the timeline to swap dead Danzo with alive Danzo. Danzo can't rewind back further to when he had a whole arm of Sharingans for an infinite Izanagi exploit because he can't go back to a reality from before his Sharingan is used up since the Sharingan would block him going back to a time when it was still functional.
There's probably a lot of holes in this theory that I can't see. What do you think?
It's better than what the show told us cuz for some reason they can change the universe but only choose to bring themself back to life... No. That's stupid... If they're not going to use it properly then don't make the jutsu so broken in the first place
Actually, it fills a big hole in the izanagi power that has bothered me for quite a while. While you use Izanagi and rebuild your entire body, can't you also rebuild your sharingan?
I can even get behind that the user has to keep the eye that's using Izanagi intact and replace everything else but the thing is, most people have two eyes so use Izanagi once, then use it again and before it ends, which you should know because you used it before, repair your other eye. If you, however, pull a rick and travel through the multiverse, it would make sense that you can't replace the other eye because it would have to come from a reality where you haven't used Izanagi in that eye before, which means you would most likely be dead or at least it would undo something you sacrificed your sight in one eye for so it's unlikely you'd do that under any circumstances.

Yeah, the truth is Izanagi really only allows you to alter your OWN reality- any event that affects you can be rewritten in your favor, keeping what you want to keep in reality regardless. This better fits Izanagi’s most basic description, “a genjutsu cast on oneself”- altering your own reality instead of someone else’s, and making it stick.
I’m so glad they made the tenseigan an extension of the byakugan. The byaukugan just feels like just a slight power increase while the rinnegan and sharingan give massive boosts. So I’m happy they have an alternative to the rinnegan in power.
Each doujutsu is a mutation of the Byakugan(Yang) or the Sharingan(Yin) Eyes, usually based on another Nature too remember clans have “cousin clans”meaning if a clan member isn’t born with the same skills they are moved or leave to start their own with their version(different nature) same form ninjutsu
Example: Uchiha(Fire Yin) are cousins of
Fūma Clan (Wind Yin)
Hagoromo Clan (Earth Yin maybe) “who could be Earth Kingdom related”
And Chinoike Clan(Water Yin) who all fought in the Warring states period

The sharingan is far better than the byakugan, that’s just a fact.
As far as the Rinnegan goes, it basically seems to me like each person who awakens the Rinnegan gains a unique ability on top of the Six Paths. Madara got Limbo, Sasuke got his teleportation ninjutsu “Amenotejikara”. Nagato didn’t awaken his own Rinnegan so perhaps he didn’t get a unique ability… but if he did, perhaps it was his ability to delegate his Paths to puppet bodies. That might just be a result of experimenting with chakra rods though, I’m not sure.
Either way, each Rinnegan awakened gets a unique ability and the Six Paths. We know Sasuke has the Six Paths since he uses Chibaku Tensei fairly often and has also used Bansho Tenin in his fight with Naruto, he just decided to really lean into his teleportation.
(By the way, it’s not just things of similar size to him- he once switched places with I think a small rock to slip through the small gap Obito had ripped open for him to escape Kaguya’s other dimension. He also switched with his own sword while making an opening for Boruto against Momoshiki.)
I'm guessing Naguto didn't get a special ability because it wasn't his rinnegan it was Madaras and Obito didn't get a special ability too and again it was Madaras rinnegan
@@ItsBobsterr that’s my thought too, yeah; the only other option is that Nagato’s unique power was, beyond puppeting corpses, to actually delegate specific Rinnegan powers to individual puppets, since Obito didn’t do that when he made his Jinchuriki puppets.
@@thecrazycapmaster that's not a bad idea tbh. We haven't seen Sasuke or Madara attempt it but they don't really need it tho so they wouldnt bother.
Obito didn't do that because he was using six of the Jinchuuriki already. That takes a lot of chakra already. If he gave them each an ability of the paths, that'll take even more chakra than necessary. In addition, majority of the shinobi alliance knows how to counter the paths anyways.

Personally for Shion I don’t think the sacrifice others bit is part of the Dojutsu, it’s just how they use it, if they can come up with a better plan to stay alive they don’t need to sacrifice someone

11 months later, my thoughts are that I never saw byakugan as equal to sharingan.
Byakugan's key attritibutes are
1) near 360 field
2) see far away or focus ti see even further away
3) see Chakra points to manipulate them
But
Sharingan
1) copy jutsu
2) sussanoo
3) genjutusu/izanagi/izanami
4) see some Chakra points
5) mangkeyou unlocks other OP abilities that theoretically is a near one of a kind
I do think part of the sharingan is naturally bias as Sasuke was also a protagonist and we only saw prodigies handle it with the most OP powers, all unlocked sasanoo, and even Kakashi copying hand seals for jutsus he never did before.
Byakugan may seem weaker on comparison because we only saw one prodigy (hinata isn't one she worked for talent as she didn't have confidence), and the one prodigy we did see (Neji) was very quickly made equal to Naruto and then shoved in the background with all the other talented chunin/jonin.
I think byakugan needs it's own independent boost. I think if Hinata was not kidnapped with Naruto in the Manga, she should have gotten that boost to go with a massive boost as she is talented in her own right now years later.

18:31 Should also mention that each time a tomoe is unlocked it increases the physical abilities (speed and strength and agility) of the user each tomoe unlocked. We see this displayed in Sasukes fight with Naruto in the Valley of the End the first time. So it doesn't only signify ones proficiency with Sharingan.
It should not increase the physical abilities. Sasuke was only able to read Naruto's movements more clearly when he unlocked the third tomoe, allowing him to evade his attacks easier as long as he had the speed to react to it (which he did). He even went as far to swap his fighting style to Lee and Guy's Ferocious Fist as a way to gain a better advantage over Naruto in a way that was even impactful for his Initial Form.
@@mainboysmusic6985 we see with a few fights, including the Final Valley battle in OG Naruto, that the more tomoe you have in your Sharingan, you have stronger physical abilities than you would previously. Remember before Sasuke had unlocked it, Naruto was kinda beating him, then he unlocked it and it gave him a huge amp above Naruto, so much so that Naruto needed the Ninetails cloak to get ahead. I think a lot of the fight though is mostly narrative.
Another battle we see the difference in tomoe, I think was during the chunin exams (I forget which fight Sasuke gets his second tomoe), but after unlocking it he got significantly stronger and faster.
@@SlayingSin My comment was based on the OG Final Valley battle. I think you're remembering wrong cause Naruto was beating him using his ninetails Initial Form until Sasuke awakened his third tomoe. From there, all Sasuke was doing dodging and striking back with huge force by utilizing the Ferocious Fist. His reflexes are what got a boost, not his physical ability, that stayed the same. Not long after that was when Naruto went into his One Tailed form, and while Sasuke could still see his movements and even react to them, because Naruto's chakra was seemingly moving on its own, he couldn't predict Naruto's attacks since Naruto was no longer primarily controlling it.
As for the Chunin Exam thing, you're definitely remembering wrong there. Sasuke awakened his one tomoe Sharingan
when he was little during the Uchiha clan massacre, then his second tomoe during his battle against Haku. None during the Chunin Exams though, he had already been using the second tomoe by then.

Whether that was an animation error or the actual thing going into good detail, I'm not sure, but the next time Sasuke used his Sharingan was during the Chunin Exams, and he had two tomoe in both eyes. It's just assumed that he trained his other eye to get two tomoe by that point, which would make sense. But the one and two tomoe in individual eyes was during his battle against Haku only.

I really doubt the fact that Izanagi can kill other people. I mean I have wondered about it a lot before, but it really doesn't seem like it is possible. Danzo had like 10 Izanagi and didn't kill Sasuke once. Obito had at least 3 Izanagi and didn't use it to capture Naruto once, or even anything that would help capture him.
I think this is largely due to Kishimoto not caring too much about the sense everything makes, but to explain it, maybe it is possible that the jutsu only grants them Yin Release, which gives the user the ability to create things, while yang release is the one that gives the user the ability to alter things about objects that already exist, notably giving life to non-living things. It would then probably be Yang release that would be the one to kill people or similar things, while Yin release could possibly create new bodies to avoid death. A bit of a stretch maybe, but it is stated in the 4th databook that most Uchiha clan members actually have an affinity for Yin release while the Senju have on for Yang. The thing is that most of the people just don't tend to know how to utilize it properly.
So that is like saying genjutsu in general can't kill. We know they very much can kill you so to think 1 of the most hax 1 can't kill is kinda odd?

Let's also remember that having a sharingan as a non Uchiha comes with some drawbacks. Mostly that it eats through the users chakra much faster. The only ways that has been shown to combat that are through either extensive training with it like Kakashi or to have Hashirama's cells with the sharingan like with Danzo. Hashirama's cells are so effective in fact that it allowed Danzo to use Kotoamatsukami once every day, unlike the original user of the eye Shisui who was an Uchiha to use it once every 10 years. It's also suggested that it's thanks to Hashirama's cells that Obito could have used Kamui as much as he did without going blind.

My time has come! So, I've been working on this theory for a while and have commented it before, but this is its final iteration and this is the perfect video to bring it back up. Its long winded, but stick with me
First off, I think we’ve got it wrong. The jougan isn't the base of the 3 main dojutsus, its their final evolution.
Hagoromo is an Otsutsuki and because of that he was born with a byakugan. Thats just a fact of the Otsutsuki, they're born with byakugan. In Shippuden, when Hagoromo showed Naruto his early life, Hagoromo and Hamura discovered the truth about the divine tree when they pulled whats-her-face out of the tree's bindings. In that moment, we saw Hagoromo's byakugan become a sharingan. That tells us, without a doubt, that the sharingan is an evolution of the byakugan. We later see, both with Hagoromo and Madara, that the sharingan can become a rinnegan. This means that all 3 major dojutsus are just evolutions of one another, and this makes sense since all Otsutsukis are born with byakugan and every time we see an Otsutsuki they have a byakugan and/or a rinnegan. The interesting thing to note however, is that as you climb the dojutsu ladder from byakugan to sharingan to rinnegan, you don't lose the abilities of the lower rungs. A rinnegan user can still use abilities iconic to the sharingan, we saw that with Madara and Sasuke. However, the opposite is obviously not true. A byakugan user, for instance, can't perform amaterasu and a sharingan can't perform almighty push. Its only when you climb the ladder do you to gain abilities and retain the abilities of the lower rungs. That means the jougan, in order to perform the abilities of all 3 major dojutsus, would have to be a higher rung on the dojutsu ladder.
Quick side note: The reason we don't see Hyuga awakening sharingans after they've awakened their byakugans is because the Hyuga are descended from Hamura whereas the Uchiha are descended from Hagoromo. That means Hagoromo passed down the genes for the sharingan and the rinnegan, whereas Hamura didn't. This also means that Hagoromo didn't pass down his genes for the byakugan. (Also, I know of no indications that Hamura wasn't able to awaken a sharingan or the rinnegan so its quite possible he could have done it had he not awakened a tenseigan).
This fits with the Otsutsuki's philosophy of evolution. They're constantly trying to evolve, to become more powerful, to attain what Ishikki describes as godhood and possess a jougan for themselves. It makes sense that the jougan is the peak of dojutsus from that angle, let alone what I described above.
So why does Boruto just... have one? Its a combination of 8 things. (I'll explain the importance of why 8 requirements is important later on)
1. Naruto is a descendent of Hagoromo. We know this because he's an Uzumaki, the fact that they're descended from Hagoromo is pretty well established. Being that Naruto is a descendent of Hagoromo, he has the gene for the sharingan, and subsequently the rinnegan. Its not dominant like it is in the Uchiha, but it is there. That, of course, means that Boruto has these genes as well.
2.Hinata is a descendent of Hamura. That's a straight fact. Since she's Hamura's descendent, Boruto has Hamura's dominant gene for the byakugan, just as every Hyuga does.
This means Boruto has a dominant byakugan gene and a recessive sharingan and rinnegan gene. This is exactly what all Otsutsuki's have, since they're all born with byakugan right out of the womb.
Now onto the fun stuff.
3.Naruto is the proxy ten tails jinchuriki when Boruto is conceived. He contained a piece of every tailed beasts chakra, (4.) as well as Hagoromo's chakra.
5.Hinata was granted the rest of Hamura's chakra not long before Boruto was conceived.
This means that when Boruto was conceived he had the same genetics as Kaguya and all of the important pieces of chakra that she is comprised of.
Boruto, even before Momoshiki implanted his karma marking, was as close to being an Otsutsuki as you can get. This also means Himawari is in this exact same position, but I'll get to why she doesn't have the jougan in a minute. This is where things tie into Ninshu, and why Otsutsuki will never awaken the jougan.
So what does it take to awaken the dojutsus? Strong emotions. In particular, intense love or heartbreak (i.e. the loss of love). Any strong emotion will do for the byakugan, we saw Himawari awaken hers with anger. With the sharingan, however, things are a little different. The sharingan, and its evolutions, must be awakened with love or heartbreak. Most often its heartbreak that does it. Hagoromo, Indra, Madara, Izuna, Obito, Kakashi, Fugaku, Itachi, Shisui, Sasuke, all of them awakened their sharingan's and/or evolved their sharingan by suffering heartbreak. The only Uchiha to awaken their sharingan just by feeling intense love, and the person who proved it isn't just heartbreak that can do it, was Sarada. (Side note: I suspect she'll awaken her mangekyo by realizing she's in love with Boruto but that's just my headcannon). With the rinnegan the requirement is much simpler; have a sharingan and Hagoromo's chakra. Madara was able to awaken his rinnegan just by accidentally creating a portion of Hagoromo's chakra within himself. (Remember what I said earlier: The Hyuga can't evolve their byakugan because they don't have the genes for the sharingan or the rinnegan from Hagoromo and the Uchiha can't evolve their sharingan because they don't have Hagoromo's chakra to awaken the rinnegan. All clear?)
Love is a key factor here. Unless you experience heartbreak or love intensely you cannot awaken or evolve a sharingan, and thus the rinnegan. The only Otsutsukis we have ever seen experience love for themselves are Hagoromo, Hamura, Ashura, and Indra and of those only Hagoromo and Indra ever awakened a sharingan. These also happen to be the only Otsutsuki's we've seen that are part human. Full blooded Otsutsukis cannot experience love, if memory serves it was Kaguya who told us that, and thus cannot awaken their own sharingans or rinnegans. But then, why do we see full blooded Otsutsuki's with rinnegans? Easy, theres a loophole. By consuming a chakra fruit, as we saw Kaguya do, or becoming ten tails jinchuriki, as we saw Madara do, you assimilate the pre-existing dojutsu of the ten tails, that being the 9-tomoe rinnegan, similar to how Kabuto assimilates abilities and chakra from others. This is also why no full blooded Otsutsuki has a rinnegan, of any tomoe, in their eye sockets. Its not their eyes. (Yes, I know Urashiki had rinnegan in his eye sockets but we know you can just pop eyes in and out of your eye sockets with ease at their level. Its not a stretch to say he just ripped out his own eye and put a rinnegan in there.)
6. Boruto, being a human, does experience love. He doesn't have to consume a chakra fruit or become ten tails jinchuriki to loophole his way to a rinnegan.
There's something else Boruto has that full blooded Otsutsuki don't. Bonds with others and the desire to protect those bonds. That is itself the basis of Ninshu. Naruto himself is the prime example of how cherishing and protecting bonds with others inevitably makes someone strong and told Kawaki as much. The bonds themselves are a key component. Full blooded Otsutsuki not only don't have bonds, but have absolutely no desire to protect them.
7. Boruto not only has bonds, but actively tries to sacrifice himself to protect them.
With the factors I've laid out there are a few people who could awaken the jougan. Those being, Boruto, Himawari, Hagoromo, and Hamura. They all fit the bill, why is it only Boruto has a jougan?
Hagoromo and Hamura are the easiest to eliminate; you have to have the chakra of a full blooded Otsutsuki. Hagoromo and Hamura only had half.
Himawari is a little different; she awakened her byakugan with anger. I suspect (8.) you have to awaken all 3 dojustus simultaneously in order for the jougan to surface. Since the only way to awaken the rinnegan is to have a sharingan, and the only way to awaken a sharingan to experience heartbreak or intense love, you must have been experiencing love in some fashion when you awaken your byakugan or else you simply can't awaken a jougan.
All in all, Boruto is the only person that fits the bill.
1. He has Hagoromo's genes for the sharingan and the rinnegan.
2. He has Hamura's genes for the byakugan.
3. He has the chakra of every tailed beast.
4. He has Hagoromo's chakra.
5. He has Hamura's chakra.
6. He experiences love.
7. He has bonds and wants to protect them no matter what.
8. He awakened all 3 dojutsus simultaneously.
There's one more thing, remember earlier I said that 8 requirements is important? For those of you who have seen the video you'll understand as soon as I mention it, but SethTheProgrammer made a video called "Baryon Mode Is WAY Stronger Than You Think." where he pointed out that Ishikki is nearly at the 8 paths level. To drastically over simplify, the dharmakaya (where "8 paths" comes from) leaves behind the life and death cycle of samsara (where "6 paths" comes from) and exists in eternal peace. This fits with what Ishikki is attempting to, and almost has, attained; godhood, immortality, eternity itself and the jougan is something he has yet to attain. We've also seen the image of the Otsutsuki god, who presumably has attained 8 paths, with jougans so its a fair assumption that the jougan is an 8 paths ability. Having 8 requirements to achieve an 8 paths ability is poetic in its own way.
As a side, because I've been asked previously, I want to mention how Ishikki's dojutsu and the tenseigan fit into this theory. I have to put it in a reply to this comment because I've written too much.
(CONTINUATION) So how does the tenseigan fit into this dojutsu ladder I've described? Well... it doesn't. And that's actually a good thing, let me explain. The tenseigan isn't something Otsutsuki's can usually attain. We know that to awaken it an Otsutsuki needs to gain a Hyuga's byakugan. However, we know that the abilities of the byakugan for both the Hyuga and the Otsutsuki are the same. Hell, when either clan uses it their veins bulge exactly the same way too. So what's the difference? Human DNA.
The tenseigan doesn't actually have anything to do with the dojutsu ladder the Otsutsuki's are trying to climb, its a different ladder all together and there's more evidence to support this. I present to you; The ketsuryugan. It's a totally unique dojutsu to the Chinoike clan. We've only ever seen 2 users and both are full blooded humans. We've seen several full blooded Otsutsuki and none of them have either the tenseigan or the ketsuryugan even though they are strong dojutsus. They're unique to human DNA. This is why its good that we've never seen an Otsutsuki (who predates Hamura) with a tenseigan, they hadn't interbred with humans yet. This also implis that if any Otsutsuki had the bright idea to grab a Hyuga's byakugan they'd instantly awaken a tenseigan so... there's that.
Alright and now for Ishikki's dojutsu and honestly? There's a large amount of speculation here. We know almost nothing about it. Even its name is unknown. We don't know how he got it, he's the only user we've seen of it, and we don't know its full scope of abilities. It has a design similar to the 8 paths dharma wheel, which is something SethTheProgrammer mentioned, so it might be related to the dojustu ladder in that it symbolizes his position as nearly there. So perhaps since, as I assert, he's literally incapable of getting to the 8 paths level and attaining a jougan its some kind of incremental upgrade dojutsu, like the mangekyo sharingan or the eternal mangekyo sharingan, of the rinnegan.
We know the rinnegan has at least 2 upgrades, those being the 6-tomoe and 9-tomoe rinnegan (which, to me, implies that there exists a 3-tomoe rinnegan), and the sharingan has 4 (2-tomoe, 3-tomoe, mangekyo, and eternal mangekyo). If there are more upgrades to the rinnegan it wouldn't surprise me. Also, since its heavily associated with 6 paths, grants a user 6 paths of abilities to use, and Ishikki's dojustu literally has 8 paths in its design the probability of it being a highly upgraded rinnegan we've just never seen before makes sense.
Now, I know I used a lot of non-cannon and filler info but even if you strip all of that out I think this makes the most sense and explains the dojutsus in a very holisitc way

The Jougan has more power than the 3 great dojutsu combined, it also has the ability to rift inside of the barriers of dimensions, and with it being an eye literally FEARED by the otsutsuki clan, literally one of the otsutsuki said the jougan was a troublesome eye, and with it being given "the star of hope" symbolizing that it has more power than all dojutsu that we have seen so far

I would credit that to the fact it would be extremely hard to even attempt to dispel chakra from your brain, and for dojutsu and non-dojutsu users alike this would be fatal because they would be cutting off their heightened senses caused by having chakra in the first place and would be suspectical to sneak attacks and fast jutsu
Hagaromo also didn't have a rinne-sharingan, it is just a symbol of some sort. He never obtained rinne-sharingan even after becoming the ten tails jinchuriki.

I think that Shion's Dojutsu could be WAY stronger than what was shown in the movie. It was said that the ppl who had it, Shion and her Mother only ever trained their chakra so that they could seal away demons and that the Dojutsu only ever send their memories back in time when they died as an automatic defense of sort.
So what if a ninja awoke this Dojutsu and actually trained with it and could use it at any point that they would want to send their memories back to the past... Lets say they trained themselves for years and became an S-ranked Jonin and then used all of their chakra to send their memories back to their childhood..?!? Than you would have a child ninja with years apon years of momeries about training, jutsu, weapons, enemies and their skills and more...
Or lets say that ninja only focused on Ninjutsu for and entire lifetime, send their memories back and than trained another lifetime in just Taijutsu and send their memories of two lifetimes back and did it again with Genjutsu... they would be a GOD after just a few lifetimes...
One thing to note about the Byakugan that made it dangerous but was never expanded on its ability to nullify or expand genjutsu.
It can not only see the genjutsu being casted but render it useless.
Kagura uses it to expand her genjutsu against her enemies.
It may not have all the bells and whistles the other dojutsu have but it most definitely is T the weakest of the bunch.

Well so in a fanfic I read there was a similar case.
So if we consider the byackugan.
A Uchiha with one implanted would gain all the byackugans sight powers.
The addition of the sharingan Chakra mutating the eye. It proly would not improve the sight anymore.
As byackugan in terms of sight has all of sharingans tricks in spades then some.
But if a Uchiha with implanted byackugan awakens sharingan or m.s.
It is theoretically possible that they would gain there genjutsu and m.s powers within that byackugan.
And if that were the case we would be looking at something incredibly busted.
Take amaterasu it generally requires eye line sight to use.
So if u were hiding from it behind the wall itachi can't see u therefore he can't burn u.
But if let's say itachi had a byackugan implanted and he did by this theory gain it's powers on top of his m.s
If he didn't lose any power.
Now itachi can see u through that said wall.
Now your within his sight.
This could arguably expand to encompass kamui and other abilities

I hope you get this, I would love for you to research this. Me and a buddy was chopping it up on who would win Kaguya Vs. Goku (Kaguya obviously). And we mentioned her ability to go to different dimensions. It's more complex, see she bent those dimensions to her will. So she didn't just go to other dimensions, she brought those dimensions to her. Or they came to her. Those dimensions were at her will.

I really doubt that the byakugan is the weakest. It has a lot of potential, I just question why no one is using it in creative ways. Below I will present several paragraphs with evidence of multiple ways it could be used that allow it to easily beat out other dojutsu.
The byakugan can see through things, meaning you can see through your foes skin and into their vital spots, allowing you a much easier time hitting such spots. Now add on that you can see any weaknesses in their body, such as past badly healed injuries, things like tumors, cysts, and other things in the body. This is proven by Neji's ability to look past shino's skin and see the skeleton, bugs, etc.
It also has immense potential to effectively work as a sharingan for the sake of seeing through others movements and what they are about to do. If I have the byakugan, I could train myself to notice which muscles tense, and what that means, etc. We know this is doable, as we have multiple instances in the manga of the byakugan seeing inside peoples bodies, skeletons, fractures in said skeletons, etc. So it is absolutely doable. And we have multiple instances of it being used to see through clothes, and so far as we know, there is no barrier or substance capable of stopping this. While we have yet to see anyone do this, it's clearly something they could do.
Because they can see chakra and tenketsu, they can easily see where that chakra is being funneled, meaning they can easily predict not just jutsu, but possible movements. If I see you amassing chakra near your mouth for example, I can bet you are going to shoot a fireball or some such. It can see chakra far better than the sharingan, meaning someone watching someone elses chakra and how it moved through the tenketsu, could easily copy their justsu. It wouldn't be super easy like the sharingan, but it's easily doable.
Another aspect that is a great benefit, by looking through your foe's clothing, you can easily see all the equipment they have on them. This means you can track all the gear and weapons they use, and know when they are out. If they reach into a pouch, you see exactly what they are pulling out, allowing you to be prepared ahead of time before they even use the equipment they are reaching for. This also gives another immense advantage to anyone who has a byakugan. Knowing exactly what they have also allows you to strategize, and makes it much tougher for them to surprise you.
Now some may say that there is a drawback, there is a tiny space, projecting forth from behind one of their neck vertibrae. But this is not really a disadvantage. Everyone else doesn't get 360* vision, they get at best what.... 270*? So a tiny blindspot isn't even really a drawback comparatively. And you could find ways to get around even that.
I would argue that the Byakugan has more portential than even the MS, it's just that no one who has it is using it right. No one seems to be thinking of ways to creatively use it in the series.

Actually, when Sasuke unlocks Sharingan against Haku, he was the first to unlock it without hate in his heart. If anything it was strong emotion like love, determination, or sadness. Naruto wasn't dead nor was Sasuke in a near death state at the time of activation. He had decent enough power to shoot off more than 3 more fireball Justus and save Naruto from Hakus attack when Naruto was passed out. Just a slight catch ove noticed you, Sixx, Swagg, and Seth say.

Obito unlocked his Sharingan with a similar desire to protect Rin & shortly after gave 1 of them to Kakashi as he was seemingly crushed to death & that wasn't retconned.
I believe that the Sharingan is awakened at a moment of stress or emotional build-up, like how Sarada (from Boruto) awakened her sharingan just from finally being able to see her father for the first time in her life.
Then the Mangekyou Sharingan is awakened when you experience very extreme trauma. Like something or someone so precious to you that you would quite possibly give your life for them, and you witness their death (or something similar, like getting completely and utterly betrayed by them). Which is also why people who awaken it are usually insane or very 'determined' in doing something (like Madara wanting to create a peaceful world).

Yes but the only reason sasuke refused the hashirama arm in the first place is simply because he didn’t feel like he had deserved it. More like he was atoning for his sins in that way. This could also be the case with the king of hell.

i still think the otsutsuki god is one of coolest character designs in all of anime/manga its so simple but intimidating while also being obviously godlike.
I feel like the Byakugan is at least stronger than an average Sharingan user, but since a lot of emphasis has been on the Sharingan instead of the Byakugan, once a Sharingan user gets Mangekyo Sharingan and over, then the Sharingan user just surpasses the Byakugan user.
Sharingan basically sees in the future. Byakugan is just 360 fov.

Not necessarily, as only Sasuke & Itachi had amaterasu. Genjutsu doesn't work on Byakugan users & you can't copy the rotation technique & doesn't (or can't use) use gentile fist as they don't see charka points better than the Hyuga clan. With nearly perfect vision & a defense to expell any weapon attacks how would a Sharigan users attack someone with the Byakugan? Also using the Sharigan for extended amounts of time drains their charka more than a Byakugan user if my memory is correctly. They are both gifted in taijutsu although one single hit from a Byakugan user could kill you.
So that means Naruto can take Sasuke's dna and access rinnegan since he is a reincarnation of lndra

It made it easier for me to wrap my head around the sharingan once I quit looking at the eyes as the special part. They kind of aren't. it's the special Chakra that Uchiha have that's the special bloodline trait. The physical sharingan itself is just a jutsu using that Chakra. That also, in a way, explains why they have Chakra levels that rival asura decendants. They don't have 'more' Chakra, they just have nitro boosted special Chakra that's tied to the user's personal psychological state and overall life philosophy? (Obito and itachi are the best examples of this. Obito protects himself from pain by retreating to his own personal world. Or pulling specific things important to him into thst world. NCs video on itachi explains my point way better than I am right now. Asuras have vast "regular" Chakra reserves. Since it's "regular", its compatible with everyone else and they can share, combine, and cooperate with other sources of Chakra. As well as the huge life force. I dunno. Head cannon stuff. But it makes it line up neatly to me.
