  • Join Omni Garage as we test and compare two of Ryobi’s handheld 18V sprayers. The 3.5L is advertised as having flow rate of 0.5 l/min at 45 PSI while the 7.5L puts out 0.38 l/min at 32 PSI.
    These battery-powered sprayers replace the need to pressurise the tank by pumping a handle. A 5.0AH battery will spray pesticide or herbicide through the adjustable nozzle on the 7.5L model for up to 12 hours.
    The unit’s cap also doubles as a handy measuring cup to help accurately determine the mix in your sprayer. The included harness enables one or two-hand operation. Both models can be used one handed thanks to their lock-on switch.

    I've had my 2 gallon (7.5 litre) for 5 years now and it doesn’t quite put out at the original rate but i still get .25 gpm (almost 1 litre pm). Works great tor pesticides and weed killers and i always wash it out thoroughly. I'm in central Texas.

    I went through 2 of the one gallon units, both acted the same. Squeeze the trigger, the spray was decent and then it weaseled out. I was spraying a wasps nest and they looked at the spray and came right at me. There wasn't enough pressure to keep them away. A trip to the ER and $100 for medicine canceled the Ryobi sprayer for me. Hell if these sprayers can't match what the hand pump units can do, what good are they?

      However those hand pumps lose pressure as you go. So the first few seconds it sprays good and then it gets impotent pretty fast.

    Odd that the larger unit has weaker spray. Is this a fluke or intentional?

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  3 роки тому +1

      I’d say it would be to do with the pressurisation of the larger tank.

    • @iankmak
      @iankmak 2 роки тому

      I would say it has to do with the head pressure of the pump.
      The larger one is sucking the liquid to a higher level so the pressure drops off.

    @cam_airtech and also on @modder packer reach out to us on Instagram with some decent information regarding both sprayers. “Hey mate, are you testing these or just going off the manufacturers spec? I looked at both units and they're both rated at 45psi. Also these sprayers do not build pressure in the tank. It's simply a diaphragm pump siphon the fluids.”
