I think it's because of Gorr's view of life and his compassion for Jane. Gorr believed that "the world" (I really didn't like the script of this movie.) is full of pain and suffering. I think he just wanted him, his kind, and Jane to rest and not experience more from what he believes is a cruel world. I know how we all felt about Love and Thunder, but in just her short time as a hero, Jane willingly sacrificed her life for the greater good of the universe and proved what it means to be worthy. She truly was the Mighty Thor.
She died the warrior's death, ensuring her entry to Valhalla. She will never hunger, never be alone, never get sick, and will always be accepted and respected by those around her because of her sacrifice. (Or so it says in Norse mythology about Valhalla.)
Gorr is not evil. Just a good man that had enough being bullied and lied to. An example of we should not opressed someone just because we see him or her like weaklings. People has their boiling points and we might be shocked of what these weaklings are capable of. Be kind always.
Honestly, I feel personally that Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) lost it's essence when it started being wielded by others. It was super cool and awesome when Captain America did it but now, it's kinda lost something. Nobody else should be able to do it. That should be Thor's thing. That's just by two cents. Nobody take my head off
Yeah totally! I feel much the same about characters taking on the mantles of other characters, like Falcon permanently becoming the new Captain America, I think it's awesome to see him use the shield now and then but I like him more as his own thing you know? and I'm sorry but Iron Heart just doesn't do it for me, Tony is irreplaceable. There's an underlying theme of tearing down the original to build up the replacement and that's just not cool *cough- SheHulk* Unique characters are far more interesting than having them reduced to the same gimmick. That being said, I absolutely LOVE the Spidermen movies, they make it work and that all comes down to the writing.
The arc of Jane Foster’s cancer diagnosis and ‘death’ arc got me through my own mother’s cancer treatment. And I will always choose love to honor them both. I pray that Love always wins.
At the beggining of the MCU Thor was a arrogant god, with the passage of time he lived his own tragedies that made him a better hero and it was until Infinity War and Endgame that he really hit bottom, in this movie he finds a way to stand again but with some lack of self confidence. With this scene I think Thor learns from the suffering of Gorr that the world needs it´s gods to be better, so that´s the new porpuse of Thor, not only being a warrior god but also being love.
I know a lot of people didn't like the movie. But the same people who didn't like it, loved across the the spider verse. Me personally I liked this more than across the spider verse. It's a movie, it was somewhat entertaining
It is really a shame the majority of this film was not up to par with this scene. Thor costume is also a bit goofy in this one (the colors, I don’t know. But something’s off).
What i would have liked to see was a bit more of the Necrosword, and its influence on Gorr. At the beginning, it feeds off his rage, his grief, and reinforces those feelings to propel him into being the God Butcher. At the end, he has the choice - the choice to stop hating, and choose love. And he does, and it works. I was very satisfied with Gorr and his story in this film
I can't be the only one screaming "What's the catchphrase?" at the top of my lungs! I was so loud it scared the dog. He's hiding under the kitchen table because he thinks he did something wrong. No, boy. You're OK. It's your daddy that has the problem. He suddenly just has to know what the lady whispered in the blonde man's ear.
Loved seeing a Cosmic Entity. Wish we got to see more of them. I wish Mistress Death was on Vormir defending the Soul Stone instead of Red Skull. Just a cameo is good sis they don’t need a whole entire movie
Jane Foster is not just a comic book character, she is a symbol of strength, resilience, and overcoming limits. Her story teaches us that each of us can become a hero. #JaneFoster #Inspiration #Marvel #Superheroes
She's still human; I think the underlying theme of the later Marvel films are all of the characters we've come to know and love don't last forever. They all die- in battle via sacrifice, or just expire naturally. Death does not discriminate, however it does force them to make something of themselves while they're still alive.b
Gor the god butcher graphic novel is one of the best stories ive ever read. This was on par with what Star Wars did to Luke Skywalker. We could have had Gor vs. young Thor, avengers Thor, and Odin Thor. Instead we got this mess where Gor kidnaps children.
This, honestly, was the only part of the movie the really invoked any feeling for me. I saw this back when it came out with my buddy, and he was crying at this part, and I had to put my dog down the week before.
How could Jane die of cancer? In her Asgard form she would have had the same ability to heal as Thor. Since Thor has healed from far worse injuries than cancer it must also be true that Jane could heal from cancer while she was in her Asgard form.
@@gamejedishe was mostly a demigoddess plus it was implaid that some sickness could be healed but for Jane cáncer wasn't an Asgard thing and there wasn't medical cures for it since as i Said not even Odin could save her from that as she's not an asgardian So to cure her they would've needed the stones or eternity, Jane and Thor could've thought of it but that was a way to show gorr that there we're good gods as saving her or Thor himself would be a selfish act just as selfish as gods like Zeus plus Thor respected Jane and gorr's fates, Jane dies as an asgardian and good goddess and gorr dies forgoving the gods and himself.
I'm no fan of this movie, but there are two separate reasons Asgardian or rather Thor-empowered Jane would die to her illness. Being in the presence of Eternity may suppress or nullify certain powers, which would be relevant to him, like cell aging. But it could simply be the case that Thor overexerted his god powers earlier and it left the enchantment lacking. Remember, it's the god powers that make the difference, most asgardians aren't gods.
@@Resanctify My assumption of Jane's healing abilities in her Asgardian form would be that she would be healed within minutes while in her Asgardian form. Much like Hulk or Wolverine are healed in minutes when injured.

I know many of u might not agree with me but pls don't attack me for this and this is completely by opinion and no one will change my mind. Thor Love And Thunder was by far one of the greatest comedy shows ever seen in the MCU, bringing happiness to the MCU since Endgame ended ❤
the lore DIDNT make sense, maybe if the hammer had been whole, and not shattered it could have worked, but being SHATTERED(and thus broken, as i guarantee you every piece could NOT be found but i digress) so too would the enchantment have been broken, so it makes no sense
I think he couldn't have wished himself well because he was dying from using the blade. There's often times you can't undo one magic with a different magic, it has to be the same type Then again it's a movie 🤷🏿♀️
You probably think thanos in infinity war and endgame were any better?… why not double the resources instead of halving the population? Cuz that would have made for a much shorter, and less profitable, movie
@@rortys.kierkegaard9980Because resources are finite, eventually a growing population will completely consume more than The resource can be either made or harvested. Bees are winged insects closely related to wasps and ants, known for their roles in pollination and, in the case of the best-known bee species, the western honey bee, for producing honey. Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea. They are currently considered a clade, called Anthophila.[1] There are over 20,000 known species of bees in seven recognized biological families.[2][3][4] Some species - including honey bees, bumblebees, and stingless bees - live socially in colonies while most species (>90%) - including mason bees, carpenter bees, leafcutter bees, and sweat bees - are solitary.
Really thought that Gorr would choose to wish and heal Jane since she could still be saved. Gorr could still be with her daughter in the afterlife, I think so at least?
Gorr was dying because of the blade, he didn't have it which Also saved him some live time He understood they're good gods but for him it was a late cause even if he wished to sabe Jane or himself it probally wouldnt have worked the same plus all he though about when not killing gods was His daughter, he blamed himself as well for her death so as a parent he choose her instead of himself.
If this movie only focused on romantice side and showed thor and Jane getting back together only to lose Jane, it would've hit harder. I know Gorr as a villain would be wasted but if the ending showed jane and thor together defeating gorr as he is too strong for one thor, and gorr begs for reviving his daughter would've been a nice touch showing that jane, instead of fixing her cancer(which is why she seek would be seeking eternity) asks for gorr's wish leaving thor with a remembrance of her and their time. That would've made a deeper character growth for thor. Instead it became too goofy as a thor movie.
Taika Waititi was the only successful movie director after Endgame. The only director in marvel arsenal that can make good movies without superheros. He understand why the movies are.

I know it would be cliche but they should have just had Gorr save Jane as it makes more sense for Thor. They even said it here that it wouldn’t matter to bring back Love as her dad wouldn’t be there. Sure Thor adopted her but it doesn’t make any sense in terms of character building to kill of Jane and Gorr to bring back Love who has zero history with Thor.

Liam Neeson: Only you can know that, Mr. Wayne.
*falls off moving truck
...As for me, I believe this boy to be The Chosen One... Why is Queen Amidala here?
I know how we all felt about Love and Thunder, but in just her short time as a hero, Jane willingly sacrificed her life for the greater good of the universe and proved what it means to be worthy. She truly was the Mighty Thor.
"Lady Thor"
DOCTOR. JANE. FOSTER!!!
She died the warrior's death, ensuring her entry to Valhalla. She will never hunger, never be alone, never get sick, and will always be accepted and respected by those around her because of her sacrifice. (Or so it says in Norse mythology about Valhalla.)
@@mublessonline The Mighty Thor was her name in this storyline from the comics.
Honestly, I don't blame him. As a parent, i would do the same.
ah yes, group responsibility...
Yea you would just travel across the universe slathering gods
that scene demaged my heart in a way that i'll never explain..It will haunt me every time i think of Thor
😂😂😂😂
Gorr is not evil. Just a good man that had enough being bullied and lied to. An example of we should not opressed someone just because we see him or her like weaklings. People has their boiling points and we might be shocked of what these weaklings are capable of. Be kind always.
Wow, I’m really impressed with India Rose! She is a natural born actress!
А что она там сыграла?! 🤷♀️ Ничего
@@Юлия-у3ж7ш I know right, lol.
The girl love is actually played by Chris Hemsworth's daughter, India Rose Hemsworth.
This scene makes me think of Infinity War… when Thor says to Rocket that he’s already lost everything and couldn’t lose anything else.. but he could.
There's an underlying theme of tearing down the original to build up the replacement and that's just not cool *cough- SheHulk*
Unique characters are far more interesting than having them reduced to the same gimmick. That being said, I absolutely LOVE the Spidermen movies, they make it work and that all comes down to the writing.
@@missvt6640 Exactly!!! Spiderman rules now because no one else can be spiderman apart from spiderman himself.
Plus Thor called Mjolnir like it was dog that got out of the yard. That certainly killed it's essence.
@@flozzymwambaI believe many, not me, think Peter can be easily replaced by Miles

The arc of Jane Foster’s cancer diagnosis and ‘death’ arc got me through my own mother’s cancer treatment. And I will always choose love to honor them both. I pray that Love always wins.
Love give him hearts how she always stay with him. Thor very cheerful.
“Open up your heart to it, it what your mother wish for” - kratos
Why would I spend my last moments with you when i can be with her. Epic.
It is really a shame the majority of this film was not up to par with this scene. Thor costume is also a bit goofy in this one (the colors, I don’t know. But something’s off).
Mjolnir: "I bestow upon you, the power of Thor!"
Jane: "Thanks! It'll cure my cancer, right?"
Mjolnir: 😏
Jane: "It'll cure... my cancer, right?"
That was just amazing!
I never saw any scene like this one in any other movie!
That was so inexplicably lame that they had Red Skull be there and not her. They even teased it as Mistress Death in the trailers too. What a waste.
Gorr died so his daughter could live.
Probably the best part of the movie.
Gorr channeled his inner batman ...😂😂😂😂
2:40 me, after getting rejected by Art school.
Jane Foster is not just a comic book character, she is a symbol of strength, resilience, and overcoming limits. Her story teaches us that each of us can become a hero. #JaneFoster #Inspiration #Marvel #Superheroes
Not gonna lie, I thought this was anticlimatic regarding Jane. I also feel like she didn't get enough time to shine as Mighty Thor.
She's still human; I think the underlying theme of the later Marvel films are all of the characters we've come to know and love don't last forever. They all die- in battle via sacrifice, or just expire naturally. Death does not discriminate, however it does force them to make something of themselves while they're still alive.b
For once i can actually say i love how that used the kids in a film, each scene was just too adorable and it fits the movie well
This is the one scene in the entire movie that got me crying my eyes out
Certain parts of this movie had bad VFX, but I liked how they did Eternity
All current Marvel movies do minus Guardians. I don't think it has anything to do with lack of funds, but just laziness thinking people watch anything
Gor the god butcher graphic novel is one of the best stories ive ever read. This was on par with what Star Wars did to Luke Skywalker. We could have had Gor vs. young Thor, avengers Thor, and Odin Thor. Instead we got this mess where Gor kidnaps children.
If this film wasn't a slapstick comedy this scene would be a perfect ending for Thor, Jane and Gorr's journey.
It’s fr so sad because this could’ve been a peak movie
I cried so hard in this scene
Big babies
From scene of distress calls photos to Falligar 's offscreen death was pulled straight from comics
Farewell Gorr..now you find peace 😢...
everyone Thor loves died, everyone Magneto loves died. Thor and Magneto should love each other.
So they both die
This, honestly, was the only part of the movie the really invoked any feeling for me. I saw this back when it came out with my buddy, and he was crying at this part, and I had to put my dog down the week before.
The only thing that would've improved this scene is obviously giant screaming goats.
You do realise that the whole storyline - Jane's cancer, Gorr, and yes the screaming goats - is taken directly from the comics, right?
This is so beautiful I Love it
Sad, because this movie had a lot of potential.
Haven't seen this movie yet, but what a scene. I definitely had tears with this.
How dare you turn your back at me Joker 0:51
И даже достойному врагу мы можем доверить самое дорогое для нас.
Thor went crazy during the infinite crusade.
How could Jane die of cancer? In her Asgard form she would have had the same ability to heal as Thor. Since Thor has healed from far worse injuries than cancer it must also be true that Jane could heal from cancer while she was in her Asgard form.
She died from lack of desire. Lack of desire to be in any sequels to this god-forsaken movie. No Asgardian form could save her from that fate.
@@gamejedishe was mostly a demigoddess plus it was implaid that some sickness could be healed but for Jane cáncer wasn't an Asgard thing and there wasn't medical cures for it since as i Said not even Odin could save her from that as she's not an asgardian
So to cure her they would've needed the stones or eternity, Jane and Thor could've thought of it but that was a way to show gorr that there we're good gods as saving her or Thor himself would be a selfish act just as selfish as gods like Zeus plus Thor respected Jane and gorr's fates, Jane dies as an asgardian and good goddess and gorr dies forgoving the gods and himself.
@@jackbrown8052 No, again, her powers had nothing to do with asgardians, its "the power of thor", and even then its a sort of avatar of thor. Avatars have been used in comics for a really really long time.
I've seen the scene and it was sad for Jane's death
Guys overall. In my opinion this was a very good movie, why? Well I got to see a version of thor that was very relaxed, happy, and finally at peace. I also enjoyed the comedy and jokes put into it and the lore at least made sense.
@@Guardian582 Understandable, forgive me for my mistake. I just want to say that I enjoyed the movie that's all

Can y'all like stfu about the whole kid bullshit, if he liked the movie then he liked it, no one asked whether you think he's a kid or not
He could have his entire race which included his daughter and his health restored all in the same wish. We can't have smart characters though.
There alway a catch. I think a life for a life rule here.
@@Headloser I'm betting old GorGor could've come up with a few thousand names for eternity to choose from, gnomesayin?
I think he couldn't have wished himself well because he was dying from using the blade. There's often times you can't undo one magic with a different magic, it has to be the same type
Then again it's a movie 🤷🏿♀️
You probably think thanos in infinity war and endgame were any better?… why not double the resources instead of halving the population? Cuz that would have made for a much shorter, and less profitable, movie
@@rortys.kierkegaard9980Because resources are finite, eventually a growing population will completely consume more than The resource can be either made or harvested. What you proposed wasnt a solution, it was a faster way to famine and death, Thanos choice was sctually effective in the long run, even if it was horrible, it was still effective.
Valhalla, here we go 😎
Took me forever to find this scene. I had that eternity being stuck in my head
I feel soo sorry for Thor, because he lost everything, which he loved 😔😔😔
Christian Bale was robbed of playing this character to his truest potential… Taika Waititi did Bale so dirty
I think we’ve seen the creation of the goddess known in Marvel Comics as Mistress Love
Amazing scenery loved it

"How dare you turn your back on me" - I swear I heard batman talking...
Jane had the same issue as Deadpool, when their powers grew, so did their cancer.
Can you please do Superman and Lois? They got some awesome action.
Anakin walks in: LIAR!! 😡
Really thought that Gorr would choose to wish and heal Jane since she could still be saved. Gorr could still be with her daughter in the afterlife, I think so at least?
Gorr was dying because of the blade, he didn't have it which Also saved him some live time
He understood they're good gods but for him it was a late cause even if he wished to sabe Jane or himself it probally wouldnt have worked the same plus all he though about when not killing gods was His daughter, he blamed himself as well for her death so as a parent he choose her instead of himself.
Reminded me of the King of Sorrow from Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil the way Jane went out…
who was laughing at Gorr and Jane 's deaths?
Mjolnir , Stormbreaker , Thunderbolt and Gorr are what made it surpass Malekith who had nothing except evil personality
From scene of distress calls photos to Falligar 's offscreen death was pulled straight from comics
Gorr is actually a sympathetic character. I understand his hatred for Gods, but he doesn't seem to realize not all were as bad as his was.
As a hole this was the only movie i liked from phase 4
With all the funny things yeah it's annoying but you can enjoy this movie, thor's change since Ragnarok was neccesary but in this one the balance between seriousness and jokes was no where yet the story it self was very good, gorr was scary and was really one of the best, jane even though it gave cringe was fun to watch, the action was amazing and This final scene also has it's precense, jane dying to defend thor and gorr choosing his daughter and forgiving the gods understading not all of them are evil was a heartbraking moment
Just like incredible hulk it wasn't the best movie for the character but it was fun and yet entertaining
But people really overhate this movie for minor errors, Thor was the only character i wanted to see again in phase 4 along with no way home we're movies that had the most hype and they're one of the only movies that is liked by fans
Amazing actores!
The best and adder ending in Marvel history.
I literally hate the fact that the only reason she had cancer was because of that stupid stone😒😒
Some of those who gain power never realize how to use it properly until it to late
My mom died of cancer and yes, it is a battle …for everyone who loves them.
Christian Bale saved the movie .
That is Chris Hemsworth's real life daughter.
I fully thought Gorr was gonna wish Jane was healthy so they could birth his kid reincarnated. That ending actually hit my ship right in the critical spot
DC will never come close to writing stories like this, unless they use the cartoon writers to write their movies.
