I read many, many years ago, Charlie could sound just like Festus Haggen from Gunsmoke. Charlie could do those hard limericks (TONGUE TWISTERS) that Festus had done on the show. youtube; Festus Haggen--how do you know the feller wrote the reading right. . . . youtube; HILARIOUS; Festus Haggen/Ken Curtis from Gunsmoke. . .So, if I'm reading the writing right, but the writing was written wrong, then I'd be reading the writing wrong, or reading the wrong writing right, right? youtube; Festus and Dr.; Is the doctor doctoring on the other doctor, doctors the doctor getting doctored the way the doctor doctoring on the doctor getting doctored to doctor. I checked under Charlie Hodge's book. . .on-line Reviews and the Fans didn't mention any JOKES, just stated his book was FUNNY with all the FUNNY stories and Jokes they played on each other through the years. DVD & youtube: The Elvis I knew by Charlie Hodge; didn't mention any specific "jokes" he DID AT GRACELAND to up lift Elvis' moods :( :( Charlie did call his self Elvis' Court Jester and could do, say things to break the BORDOM while doing the Movie, on the rode doing all the live concerts. The other things Charlie was supposed to have always told, was Elvis like watching Gunsmoke? CAN'T find that either--SORRY! It was Bonanza and Elvis had his picture taken with Loren Green and Dan Blocker :) BUT! There is a web site that states Elvis liked watching LAUGH-IN--"WHEW". One web site asked a question IF ELVIS WAS THE "black smith" on Gunsmoke? "No"! That was Elvis' stunt-double, Lance LeGault, who played the character "Oregon". Season 20, Episode 2 under IMDb. It's the LAUGHING Elvis story that has been mentioned a lot. Charlie mentions a little of that story on youtube; when he was in Europe. With Charlie's Southern Accent, and on those youtube videos; Charlie says he runs from one FUNNY story to another AND HE STARTS LAUGHING SO HARD AND CAN'T TELL THE STORY/JOKE and runs out of time.
