Unplugged, live, no auto tune, simple piano, chewing gum, full of emotions, kickass performance! His vocal agility is wild! Miljenko Matijevic is so underrated it makes me sick to my stomach really
Steelheart was late to the party and hair metal became so pop diluted by then that songs such as this one are so god damn cringy that it's a good thing it's dead and gone. Miljenko was a very good singer but the songs he sang are a prime example of why grunge killed the genre.
The singer is Miljenko Matijevic, he is Croatian by birth. His (and Steelheart's) story is truly tragic: as if it wasn't bad enough that they started their pop metal careers right before Nirvana came along and basically killed the genre, Matijevic was nearly _literally_ killed by a 1,000 pound lighting truss which fell on him during a show. It took years of rehabilitation, but he did eventually return to the stage and re-formed the band. If you've ever seen the Mark Wahlberg film "Rock Star", it was Steelheart (and Matijevic) who performed the movie band's signature song, "We All Die Young"...which is a phenomenal song, as well. Truly an inspirational person in every sense of the word.
Indeed! You pointed the question out too well and it does is a tragedy as this band should probably had become a great band or something if they had popped up on the right time. I'm a great fan of this genre so I'm kinda suspicious to tell but this is top 3 by far on my opinion.
Wow, I cant believe you reacted to this song. This was my favorite Steelheart song when they first came out. Loved your reaction. The original is so good with the guitars and drums.
Original songs, great vocal skills, hitting notes without any technical help... and you saw her genuine reaction when he hits those notes... This is why 80s Rock/Metal singers where (and still are) worshipped... and why todays "artists" are forgotten in a week.
Steelheart has been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid. My dad was a massive 80s music fan and passed that down to me , he introduced me to steelheart and told me how they never got the recognition they deserved. I’m glad to see more people finding them

Please react to Steelheart- Never Let You Go-really shows his vocal range. Especially one part. Also I think skid Row-I Remember You- is another one you would like! Slaughter -Fly to the Angels also
It's amazing Milijenko is still alive, let alone is able to sing after he was nearly killed in 1992 when a 1,000 lb. lighting truss fell on his head on stage. The band basically broke up the next day. He can still hit the notes, but can't sustain them anywhere near like he used to. Great reaction and analysis!

1st that dumb ass movie was supposed to be on Judas priest,.. 2nd rob halfords beautiful voice has never gone out of style or those little kids Greta van Fleet wouldn't be huge and they are in 2019.
Milo suffered a head injury when when something like lighting or electronics or whatever fell and hit him in the head. He suffered quite extensive injuries.. broken jaw.. partially crushed skull from what I recall.. and he also suffered as what was later diagnosed as a brain injury from it. It effected everything and eventually led to StealHearts break up. However he took some time to heal and recover and is now in his 50's and still rocking it and putting new stuff out. He may not be able to hit the high notes as he once did with such beauty, but he still hits pretty high. He has been one of the all time ballad rockers out there who can actually hit notes and carry a tune.

I know this was 4 years ago, but I've been listening to this band since the turn of the century simply because a) his voice is mind blowing and b) their songs are long enough to really savour
You should look for Mike's story. He almost got killed by a stage rack of lights during a concert. Sad story, he lost memory and was in a coma for some time. Steelheart was a superband and Mike was out of this world.
He was one of the best rock/metal vocalist...he can't reach this high pitch anymore today, due to his age and voice change....but still....this song is one of steelheart's best and famous songs till today that many still listen to including me🤘😝🤘
I always love your vids. It’s a combination of reaction, coaching and humor. And you also let the vocal parts run before you jump in to speak. Love it. Btw, he was on the Korean version of Mask of Singer a few years back, singing in Korean.
Your assessment is impeccable! You are a true lover of the human voice and seem to have by far the best and most honest not to mention in depth review of these artists. Lucky is the person that could ever have you as a coach. And stunning to boot.
He's pretty amazing. He got his head crushed in a rigging crash in the early 90's. Fortunately he is now back out on the road. He also provided the vocals for Mark Wahlberg in the movie "Rock Star".
You are hilarious! Are we crushing??? LOL:) Back in 1991 he pulled a Bruce Springsteen/Courtney Cox and brought me on stage and literally picked me up and did the candlestick dance move with me...and he did that as good as he can sing ha ha....seriously nicest guy EVER....

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I love the old Steelheart and this performance is one of my favorites. Mili is one of a kind has dome out-of-this-world vocals in his prime. This is an example of it. Thank ypu for reacting to this. 🔥🔥♥️♥️
He has always hit these notes, new material too
I love watching her reactions and commentary. This is my favorite one.
I know this was 4 years ago, but I've been listening to this band since the turn of the century simply because a) his voice is mind blowing and b) their songs are long enough to really savour
I do love the way you have fun with these and don't take yourself to seriously, bit get yourself accross.
You are my new favorite vocal reaction coach
Thanks darling
You should look for Mike's story. He almost got killed by a stage rack of lights during a concert. Sad story, he lost memory and was in a coma for some time. Steelheart was a superband and Mike was out of this world.
The story is crazy, he was in the movie Rockstar. I still listen to new album
Vocalist Miljenko Matijevic still has an awesome voice at 54. Check out the Live Rock n Milan video. Still chewing gum too.
Thank you!☺
He's pretty amazing. He got his head crushed in a rigging crash in the early 90's. Fortunately he is now back out on the road. He also provided the vocals for Mark Wahlberg in the movie "Rock Star".
One of the best hard rock vocalist from that time.
Holy shit I have never heard this song and this guy gave me goosebumps all the way up and down my spine wow
Angela Yount If you like this check out “I will never let you go”. Great tune
I love that 1:55~2:05 part!
Both his tone and your reaction... so raw & sincere... ❤
Such an underrated band. Congratulations for your tastes and thanks for your well being, as well, dear Rrrrrrrebacca !
React to Steve Perry from Journey ❤️ Basically ANY song he sings is like a warm blanket oF EMOTION
MANOWAR - The Heart of Steel
the band that Steelhart (and all the others) probably listened back in the days
'build a fire, a thousand miles away...to light my long way home'
still inspires!
Damn I have to re-listen to them now
@@jackvai2681 that song haunt me from 7 yo till now
What always kills me is Rebecca explains everything down to a fine tee; like the best music teacher of all time, has another look, then as casually as anything hits the hardest high note ever like it was nothing. RESPECT
I love music from 70s and 80's because it is REAL!
what's even more impressive is that he's doing it all while sitting 😂
Sitting and chewing gum, he's literally toying with one of the toughest songs ever. A true singer.
He’s got the greatest voice of all the pop metal bands from the early 90’zzzz 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
90s? What you talkin' about, Willis? This is pure unaltered 80s hair band.
RedLP5000S love the “Different Strokes” Arnold reference...classic 80’zz TV there. Steelheart’s debut came out in 1990, just before the grunge explosion 💥...glad they had success before Nirvana & the Seattle bands got huge 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@sergiodavila5269 Really?! I thought Steelheart was 80s all day long. But yeah, grunge took over around '93 so my bad. \m/
RedLP5000S its all good bro!!! They adopted a lot of the 80’z vibe because that’s what worked at the time....by the time their next album came out, Nirvana changed the whole scene....just glad Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Pantera were still successful 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@sergiodavila5269 Agreed. Don't forget the NWOBHM bands like Maiden, Priest, etc. They're still around and makin' metal! Cheers mate. 🤘
I guess if someone was to sing such a love song, in such a way to you, you would be crying.
Fantastic, love how excited you get, always a fun watch
You should rereact to this but with the whole band, they were the last amazing Hair band to come out of the 80s, but they performed to perfection, Mike is the King trust me you'll love it.
Yes he is
He is also the singer for the movie Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg.
Another great Steelheart to listen to would be "I'll never let you go." I believe the lead singer is solo now. His name is Miljenko Matijevic. Some greats of his to react to would be "My love is gone" ""Hallelujah" and "You got me twisted."
Be cool if you would react to Cinderella Nobody’s fool or some of their other songs. Skid Row is another good band.
Yes both of them and W.A.S.P
Before auto tune...thank you for doing this song, my favorite. ❤
He is so awesome, even at his current age. Still shakes my soul
