I saw Tinman did that and thought it was a great idea. I printed a timing wheel off the internet then cut a thin piece of aluminum then stuck the paper to it with spray adhesive. It works great. If the paper gets nasty, I'll just print a new one and stick it on there. I had an old 3/8 drill chuck with a 3/8-24 mounting thread I used for mine. Thank you for sharing. Take care my friend.
It's no wonder Bucking thinks so highly of you guys I can tell from watching your videos you are good people your willingness to help even if you are not doing the porting just shows your character as a person the chainsaw community is lucky you are in it blessings on you your business and family.

Hey Donny your the best man! I was concerned it was too far gone, guess i was being optimistic that it was usable. The old boy won’t stand a chance! Thank you so much, can’t wait to see it.
Great video Donnie I have a new found interest in the 394. I have been searching for one that's not best to death no luck so far. Do you know of one for sale in you're area? Thanks for sharing your knowledge they are very informative
Donny my ms462 is work really well in and the hard wood here in the northeast USA. If you find some more tricks in the porting can I send mine back for you to add more?
Donny do you have any perspectives on a good log cabin building saw, I enjoy working with logs, and am looking for sage advice on a saw in the 50 to 60cc range for doing saddle notches, brushing, and cutting scarfs, while I am not very proficient by any stretch yet, I am very adept at using a chainsaw, I know most builders swear by a good 346, or 026 pro, how do the 550xp or 2152s compare to these saws, also would it be prudent to port these saws, from a controlability standpoint, also what type of chain would you recommend, I guess in essence what I'm asking you is if you.were log building what saw would you use and what modifications would you go with?
Hey there it's Stuart Harper from Australia I love ya vids because I'm a tinker and love saws I have a 395xp curious about the big bore kits you can get now are they worth it and have you ever messed around with them cheers again
Hey there bud... I’ve just tore down a husky 970 concrete saw and this cylinder is super impressive... there’s no chainsaw cases that you can swap over to convert one of these big beautiful beast into a chainsaw right? The 970 is like 56mm Xtorq!!! With these two massive boost ports out of the cases!!!
I have no real work for a 394, but it's definitely on my watch list. I was wise enough to snag a 372XPW several years ago, so I'm not empty-handed by any means.
Hi Donnie I'm looking to buy a Husqvarna 394XP in good condition? The problem is I haven't had any luck locating one I reside in Georgia.any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff

Have you try soda blast or chest nuts see if that help clean outside cylinder up any more. I know what inside that counts.
When using drill chucks. If you are worried about the crank threads getting messed up grab some vaccum caps to put on the crank then put the chuck on.

What right angle grinder do you use on a foredom?
