I'm kind of annoyed with almost every decision Miyo did, she keep leaving Mayu behind when she knew Mayu had a permanent knee injury and doesn't listen to the trapped boy's advice, so when she got blind, it's kind fair for both of them being handicapped
When I saw the bad ending while watching Markiplier play the game I myself felt sad because I felt bad for Mio and Mayu, especially Mio. Mio went through all sorts of things to save her Sister instead of abandoning her like many other people would and in the end she kills her herself and I'm pretty sure losing a twin sibling is more devastating than losing a regular sibling. I felt bad for Mayu too since she wasn't trying to be annoying but the ghosts kept possessing her and made her run off or do something suspicious
In the X-Box version, there is one final ending, in which you find Yae's soul and she appears in front of Sae. They decide to enter the Abyss together, saving Mio and Mayu from being forced to complete the Ritual. Not only that, but the village is purified with all past residents there, their souls are at peace. They will never have to perform the Ritual again.
So let's see.... The "Escape" ending = Mio doesn't escape The "Normal" Ending = Mio kills Mayu The "Best" Ending = They both escape but Mio is rendered blind. THE FUCK KIND OF ENDINGS ARE THESE?!?!

Question for those who know "Madoka Magica", which of the endings (Hellish Abyss/Shadow Festival) do you want the alive twins getting in Homura's world ? Original timeline - Normal ending happens, but later Mio wishes to Kyubey to get her sister back. Unfortunately, because Mayu was possessed when she was killed, Sae and Yae returned with her. Because of the Village's ritual, when Mio Witches out, Sae, Yae and Mayu merge with her, turning her into an unique kind of Witch that Homura could never defeat in her loops; Law of Cycles - Madoka is forced to reap Mayu and the ghost sisters along with Mio because of their spiritual connection, but this has consequences for her (which I won't mention for spoilers); Homura's world - Her taking over reality, mixed with the fact the Village lacked the concept of time, allowed Homura to ban the ghosts back to the game's events, but with their memories intact. As a result of this, Mio, even though unable to remember the previous timelines, could tell she had to do something to avoid killing Mayu, exploring the Village to its fullest while resisting Yae's possession. And this is where my doubt comes in. She is successful in not sacrificing Mayu, but is unable to get the "Promise" ending, resulting in the ghosts being banished to the Abyss. But Yae and Sae's exposure to the Law allows them to draw power from the Abyss, recreating the Witch they had once been. What I don't know to do, is if Mio and Mayu should get the "Hellish Abyss" or "Shadow Festival" ending. Which one would it fit best with the vibe ? Which one are people more interested in ?
Thank you for the walkthrough and complete ghost list, just finished the game on Hard mode. Well now i am finally going through the Fatal Frame series. The game was released back in 2003 and I always wanted to play it but never got the chance. Now thanks to PCSX2 Emulator that I can finally play the game. So, I am around 12 years late to the party. It seems like you are quite a good horror game player and fan like my self especially the old school horror games...too bad we don't see such good horror games nowadays. Then it is really true what they say that "Old is Gold". So, far for clock tower fans there is a project called "Nightcry" and well Silent hills Got Cancelled and there is this game called "Forgotten Memories: alternate realities" so Far on IOS.....and "Bizerta: Silent Evil" for WII U which I still do not know if it is going to be a good game or not. I think these or at least some of them are going to be closest to old school horror. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

There are actually three more endings (on a another device I believe) 1. Is Frozen Butterfly: Mio gets strangled by Mayu 2. Is the Promise ending: Mio saves Mayu in time and are both alive 3. Is the Shadow Festival ending: Mio and Mayu are seen together in a yellow cloth
It actually gets easier as you play each mode,I beat the most difficult setting back in the ps2 days when I was a teen I was obsessed with video game stories cuz I thought they were better than actual movies
Last one is not a happy ending with Mayu's smug face. she's happy that Mio's blind, making her weaker and therefore has to rely on Mayu now forever. So yeah, together forever. The second one is the happy ending because that's really how the game is supposed to end. The others are just alternative. And also since the ritual is complete, the village is also freed.
Ok the best ending has to be The good ending But the others about how a Ceremony Is Supposed to help but all it did was create an Evil An Evil Created by not just death but a worse fate than Death,Eternal Damnation Fatal Frame Has got to be So Amazed by the Game Developers.
This is one of the best game I've ever played. But the ending really fucked me up, I feel like to freakin' sacrifice whoever behind this ending to that bottomless pit. At first I don't really care about Mayu, but as the progress goes on, I saw Mayu's and Sae's backstory. I developed a compassion towards her. All my effort felt like wasted. I seriously dead terrified finishing this game, and wish to see a good result and not going to touch it again for a long time. Well, now I feel devastated. Need to redo in hard mode, start from the scratch again?! Sorry for the rant here, but tecmo is just an asshole. This is my first fatal frame, and I think I picked the wrong game. Don't get me wrong, it's really good, but how they treat the ending just so you play the hard mode is just cheap. No way I face those twin ghosts, and the red kimono girl again in hard mode.

It's not that it doesn't make any sense, it's basically the story is, is that the reason why the village is all destroyed and lifeless is because the last sacrifice, they hung one of the sisters to death, then after chucking her body into the abyss, realised that because Yae escaped and Sae didn't (they hung Sae and threw her body into the abyss), Sae's soul came back corrupted and caused what happened to the village. During the whole gameplay, Mayu has the sixth sense and ends up getting possessed and then through the sixth sense, the normal ending happens...which ironically is the canon ending.

not unless it's a curse, that's what happened to mio. she was told not to, and did so anyway, and so she was punished as saw fit.

The best ending requires you to play in hard mode or above. If you get the best ending, you prove that you would go to hell and back for your friend

Promise ending is exclusive to the Xbox version , and the other two are exclusive to the Wii remake, this video only covers the original 3 endings.

PS2 endings did them dirty compared to Xbox and Wii versions where their good/best endings doesn't get Mio blinded and the ghost falling like that.

The Promise ending is actually exclusive to the Xbox Version of the Original FF2. The Wii remake features All endings plus new ones.
