    In this video we focus on addressing the oche when playing darts under pressure, holding your nerve. Dealing With Pressure is a key part in every players game.
    My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I create my content as I simply love to play darts and want to help other dart players improve with my own channel.
    All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.
    I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to in injury and dartitis in my right arm.
    I may on occasion use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation (The B.D.O). These are used under fair use legislation and all credit should be given the rightful creators.

    Imo it's the expierence you build up. It get better every time. I played a tournament this weekend. 24 players. Got into the final. BO9. 4-4 and had 9 (!) Matchdarts. The other guy threw the winning dart with his 12th. Now I learned that therr is no pressure what so ever. Just try and see what happens ^^ and best of all I had a lovely evening !

    Hi! I am beginner and just started play dart for 2 months up until now. Just recently I have match inter regional (against our neighbor province, also a beginner) and would say my performance is disgusting even though I have been practicing and have game plan but all of that changed when I saw her game. She just throwing every where but hits a good score like triple or double.. Thank you for the tips. During my competition my hands are shaking, i really felt nervous during the game! And I started not to focus on my game because I always checking on my opponent's score and that's put me on pressure! What else can you advice me? Because I will have my come back next season 😊😊

      Try and focus on your technique before the match, work on getting them to feel comfortable and relaxed and not on what your hitting.
      As you get closer to the match then start aiming more and trying to find some form.
      When you go un the match you always want to be confident you have the better throw and feel completely in control.
      Always remember to play the game at your own pase, it's aways your oche and your game.
      Don't not get aggressive or wishing they would go in, just focus on keeping them straight and not missing big numbers. :)

      The key to consistent scoring is a consistent throwing action. 😃
      Do you think it's your throw that's causing the issue or do you think its psychological? 🤔

    Hello, First of all - I love your work, thank you for that.
    Here comes my question - maybe I'm digging to deep, but regarding breathing you mentioned in this movie. Is it imporant if you throw on the inhale or exhale? I can see that some good player, you included, throw while breath in, me - on the exhale. Do you think thats important?

      You want to try and keep it natural but if you ever start over thinking it, breath in when you pick up the darts and exhal after the throw. :)

    Hey mate. I’ve been playing 2-3 hours a day for around 9ish months. I am 21, I beat county players often and give the local pros a run for their money sometimes. I was just wondering if you have any tips for hitting doubles more consistently. Some days I’m on fire, others I get to the double in 12-15 darts and then can’t manage to get into the double, either wiring it 3-6 times or missing by a mile. I take deep breaths, don’t usually shake and have quite a consistent throw. I do believe I sometimes snatch on rough days with doubles though.

      That's a good question, I always like to have a pre shot routen.
      1. I visualise myself hitting the double and the path the dart my fly to hit the target.
      2. I walk into the shot.
      3. Check my footing and get stable.
      4. Get my head in to position.
      5. Lift the dart.
      6. Aim and throw.
      I use the same Pre shot routine on ever visit but I always give a bit more focus on the mental visualisation on pressure doubles.
      Some players also find trying to create maker with the first dart helpful e.g for Double top they will try to miss height with the first dart then go at it with the second or try to come off the barrel.

    It makes me crazy that, when I play at home, I am so much better (as opposed to "good"(!)), than I am when I play at the pub. I could practice for an hour or more at home, feel completely comfortable with my throw, etc., and walk into the pub and my first 3 darts hit 5, 1, and 16 (I'm being charitable, one of the three aforementioned darts inevitably misses the board altogether). At times I will over-imbibe (not my fault but due strictly to peer pressure) and, in those instances, I kill it! I know it has something to do with being relaxed. Would love to have that relaxed state consistently! Another great vid! By the way, would love to see you land a dart-throwing lady to join in your videos ... go get 'em, Brother!

      I did marry a good dart player, but she quit after I hit a 9 darter against her. 😄 she won't play against me now and hasn't played properly for years. :)
      I know you pain all to well, you need to change to way to practice. Get a pre shot routine and stick to it at all times.
      Also, learning what mistakes you're making is huge. For example, you say you miss the board? Is that missing heigh over the double 20? If so, your release is too early, and you need to go through with your wrist more and keep the elbow still. 💪

    I struggle very bad in terms of shaking. I know my capabilities and what I can do however in games when I go up to the oche I shake like a leaf and I struggle under pressure. I tend to like to have a couple drinks or more before I play because my shaking isn’t as bad..any help? Thank you.

      Have you also tried extremely deep breathing? Playing more matches helps as well.

    Weird how he goes to grab the darts out with his left hand but it shows his right hand grabbing the darts out.
