I bought my first house when I was 24 and it’s the best decision I ever made. I turned my home into a way to support myself by renting out rooms to other young women, and it has given me freedom to know my bills are covered and make career decisions from a place of abundance and not scarcity.
@@KanezaMac i knew that I would not be able to afford a house by myself so I intentionally bought bigger than I needed with the intention of renting. I have rented rooms for 10 years now and I feel I’ve helped a lot of people to have a safe and inexpensive place to live. Some of my family members had rental properties so I had seen how it could supplement one’s lifestyle. Sometimes you just need to know you have options!

You're my inspiration! Single mom of two over here. Just moved to my dream location and started law school this year. Onward to bigger and better things!
Yes I’m a single mom. My son is about turn 12 I’ve restarted my life this past year to really understand finances and take control of my life. I can do this. Not focusing on the lost time, just the grind to move forward. I got this ❤ I’ve changed jobs for more flexibility but same salary. I’m using my degree in other ways to get to to the life I want. That is my biggest takeaway I don’t have to do the expected.
When I committed to change my life, financially I was not doing well and I decided that while I was getting my money together I was going to work on things that I could control. Firstly my health, without buying bank breaking groceries, I simply cut out rice, did intermittent fasting which saves money as well and I did UA-cam workouts (my favorite being move with Nicole which are Pilates classes. I also wanted to get into reading daily and I was not in a position to buy book, so I used z-library and would download books and committed to reading a chapter a day, I also wanted to learn a new language I found a series on UA-cam for the language I wanted to learn, from Monday-Friday I committed to watching one lesson a day, that is I would watch the same lesson everyday for 5 days in order to make sure I understood the lesson. Financially I am doing much better, but still progressing, to aid that as well I also went back to school, I am usually done with work by 2pm, and from 3-6pm I am studying.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m 41 and just started going back to college and determined to reach my life goals and make my children proud no matter what the obstacles may be😊
You spoke to me. I come from an African family where they feel you’re doing too much. If you can’t become a doctor, banker or that traditional prestige you aren’t good enough. It’s crazy. Thank you for inspiring me.
I have always been super calculated, afraid of risk and afraid of failure….and it has had me in a chokehold. I decided last year NO MORE and I was going to do it even if I was scared. I know the life I want is attainable I just get super stuck on “the how”! I am working through it but trying to get out of my own way! This was an amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing 💜✨
Girl this is me- super calculated and have to have a blueprint for everything. This has kept me stuck and behind in life. I am 29 with 2 daughters I had my oldest daughter at 16… since i completed high school I became a cna and been making it work every since but lately life has been fairly hard. Every aspect of my life has been difficult for the last month or so. My children have been not technically bad but as a parent parenting has become a bit more challenging with them getting older. My relationship hasn’t been the best and my career has been extremely stressful since Covid. I found your channel while searching how to create a vision board (great informative video btw) and decided to subscribe to your channel and today I get a notification for this video! I didn’t have my notifications on or anything so I say that to say God lead me to finding your channel and knew I needed this more than ever at this time! So many gems here that I need to return to again and again. "You can do scary things", "Live an extraordinary life while planning an extraordinary life"; as a current stay-at-home mom trying to imagine what my life will lead to once both kids are in school, I sometimes end up being complacent, believing I don't need to and shouldn't worry about that future until I finally have that free time... But you're inspiring me to dig a little deeper. Thank you! 😊
Yup I relate 100%. I get scared sometimes and think damn I don't want to put them on the bus for the first time and think to myself what do I do now?? Omg that scares me so much so I'm digging deep too. I need to work on my confidence in myself to get started. Good luck to you fellow mommy. I hope all your plans happen and it's successful and thriving whatever it may be for you.❤️
Thank you for this wonderful message! I am in my mid 40s, college educated. But, having a difficult time securing a job at this time! Thank you for these encouraging ideas.
It's overwhelming thinking about retirement at 43 and nowhere near even 6 figures in retirement. We never had conversations about money in my family and I am now in a space where I'm trying to figure it out. Single mom of 3 -- one out of the house, one in college and one teen left in middle school. Money used to give me HEAVY anxiety-- but "I CAN do hard things" -- whewww! I have 17yrs to get $5M in retirement according to your wealth guide. I can't say that it's not nerve-racking, but I'm looking for a fiduciary coach/advisor now bc this is a MUST!!!
I heard you say a few times that you paid for school. The marines did not cover that? This stood out to me as I too am a single mother and considered giving my time to service.
I needed to see this. Dreaming bigger when it seems like your dreaming to big because of circumstances or what you see in front of you. However, you have to believe you can create the life you desire regardless.
You look great and such an inspiration...I dropped out of law school and I have always regretted that decision. I'm glad you guys are back and I'm ready to learn a lot more.
I like all of these principles so much, but right now I’m thinking about your last principle. I will have to think more about that. I need to enjoy the ride. Thank you for this video 🌸
You have no idea how much I needed to hear this! I am so grateful for your journey and the lessons it taught you. Mostly I am inspired to know that the same small voice in you that beckoned you to persist is the same one I hear in myself.

I love watching your videos, they are a great inspiration. Yet, I feel it is much easier to make great changes when you are alone. Ever since I got married and had a child, there are always more important expenses right now, than investing into for the future 😔
Graduated high school, not sure what career I wanted, got into nursing school got my diploma but worked as a carer because I did not feel ready for the responsibility of being a nurse and became a entrepreneur, soon to launch. 5 years later, I just started working at a call centre to try something new. Never been in a relationship, not sure what it is like to be with a man, now I am 25 years old wanting to restart my nursing studies, and also launch my first product. Honestly with these changes I still feel lost, and that at the age of 25 I should be married, have a career and a house but none, financially in a mess because I don't know how to save, I am feeling so overwhelmed currently not sure which step to take, and sure what the future would be like for me. 😅

Right! I came to the comments looking for a list. Went to the transcript but my iPad wouldn’t let me scroll. Gonna try again or maybe I’ll just watch the video again and write them down.
I like what you said at the end when you were talking changing jobs, even though it meant a deduction in money, you still found a way! I think asking yourself "how CAN I make this work?" instead of " why is this not working?" is a simple way to get huuuuge results! growth mindset is the key

I just came across your video! You have so much wisdom! I am so thankful to have listened. I'm in a transition period in my life..Legacy has been on my heart for the last several years. I walked out of my job two weeks ago tomorrow. I liked what you said in the beginning.. what can I do for my daughter? You bought your first house at 20 years old. Then, working at the law firm, no time for family (husband) I'm not married but have two sons that I need to leave a legacy for and as the Bible says build wealth for your children and your children's children. How am I to create wealth for them when I'm working to build up a company to do what I want for my own children?
I've been watching you for yeeears and I swear this might be the best, most motivational video you've ever done!!! I already knew your backstory but hearing it so passionately expressed like you did here got me fired up all over again! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm a 33 yr old stay-at-home mom While I'm happy to be available for my family, I look forward to rejoining the workforce in 4 yrs. I have an associates degree and am planning my next move: go back to school and finish my Bachelor's degree in finance or continue learning about investment properties and focus my efforts on buying and managing a small real estate portfolio. What would you do?
She was also married during a portion of this story which helps tremendously when in law school. In addition, her family is not from here therefore credit probably wasn’t an issue.
I bought my house at 19. I bought a house that I could afford. Nothing brand new. I made my mind up to do it when I realized I could pay less than what rent was at the time. Just look around at what you can afford and go ask your credit union how to help you get to your goal.
I loved this video and everything you share here, so I saved it to my 'inspirational' folder, thanks! Your point about be willing to take risks - I would add to that the word 'courage'. Making any change can seem scary, but especially big ones. We must exercise courage to achieve our goals and dreams, and that includes the courage to not listen to negative input from people who are concerned for our futures, and possibly lack courage themselves.
I had a child at 19 as well, I’m 26 soon and became an electrician after a long 4 year apprenticeship. I made the big mistake when I qualified and went out and bought a work truck for $70k… I tolerate my job but I know I can be doing so much more with my life and my money instead of just paying this car off. Selling it would mean I could find a job I enjoy more, even if it pays less. I also have another child on the way so right now the scary decision in my life is should I sell or keep truckin on

While I'm happy to be available for my family, I look forward to rejoining the workforce in 4 yrs.
I have an associates degree and am planning my next move: go back to school and finish my Bachelor's degree in finance or continue learning about investment properties and focus my efforts on buying and managing a small real estate portfolio.
What would you do?
Would love to hear the nuts and bolts of how you afforded a house at 20 years old
She was also married during a portion of this story which helps tremendously when in law school.
Loved hearing your story from the beginning to the very end. Your composure and determination is inspiring.
Thank you so much for this video and information 😊💯

I'm glad to see you again! You look amazing, BTW. I am looking forward to more of your great content.
