@@JFEnterprizemany grocery stores, manufacturers and warehouses donate to these food banks instead of throwing out surplus food they may have nearing an expiration date. Anyone can go get them….not just the poor. It isn’t the government supplying most food banks.

I donate eggs from my backyard flock and items for the kids' food packs (our local Catholic church food bank sends home packs for food insecure kids when school is not open for them to get a meal). My family used to help pack the Thanksgiving baskets but the 'vid changed how that's doner there so we haven't since '19.
From August 2021 to January 2022, I had handed out collectible foreign coins, used books, stationery, calendars & diaries, almost new jockey caps, new & nice used clothes, nice used leather wallets & handbags, new & nice used backpacks, used DVDs andmusic compact discs, computer components & cables, new & nice used children's toys, nice used spectacles & sunglasses, canned food, drinking cups and glasses, usable kitchen utensils, and used workshop tools to several needy adults and children. I did not donate any cash.

I recently saw free food being given out at a local food bank. I seemed to notice 2 things. The first that everyone walking into the place was an able-bodied male. And the few vehicles that pulled up had custom wheels and/or exhausts.

Was on a a business trip 785 miles and saw lots of rust old military equipment (Korean-Era Tanks) on trucks rusty trailers with new tires.
Just a couple of years ago, these same people with their nice cars and homes were living the life. Wow! This is an eye-opener for everyone. Priorities need to be addressed now, as it's almost too late.

Most of those people driving those expensive cars don’t work. They are already getting most things for free. I see it at the food bank down the road from where I work. The people driving the expensive cars are NOT capable of holding a good paying job.
We're comfortably middle class. My husband is 80 and I'm 71. We're paying back loans we took out to finish our retirement home... 30% over budget. Our rental condos HOA to dues just went up 71% and we're now living month to month. We're asset rich but money poor...

Owner Operators are the main ones who screwed up the industry by working yourself out of a job or into a low paying situation. I’ve seen so many Owner Operators speeding. Working off the clock and bypassing scales because you’re too heavy are ways to take someone else’s work. Truck Drivers are too greedy and blame everyone else but themselves. Truck Drivers are the ones who allowed greedy companies to take advantage of them and allowed the industry to get like this.
Rules create more demand. Breaking rules like, speeding, overweight and overrunning your time clock is basically “watering down” the work.

Never go to the dealerships and all my car repairs/maintenance I do myself. I don't feel sorry for the other lazy people !

I guess unlike many here, I won’t judge based on the car make or model…I won’t assume. Job loss, severe illness like cancer can hit, medical bills etc.
We support two elderly parents, we are fortunate that we are able to do that without any assistance.
Find a charity that actually uses the money to help, it takes research and time…but we have a few local here that don’t have officers making millions but do good work. Take 15 minutes and research
