Hi, I have just found your channel, it's amazing what you are doing, I have tried to book Suang Glang Na but it's fully booked, I think your stay helped them with being fully booked.
The story of the rescue of 13 boys always brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Thanks to all the heroes and kind heart people involving the rescue.
I've been living in Thailand for 12 years now and this so reminds me of our first trips up north. Only difference is that I never booked a place to stay, there's always some place to sleep and with maybe two exceptions over the years, that always worked. Always clean, friendly, relaxed.
@keepcreationprocess The cost of living in Thailand is not the same as the west ie uk. You can leave easily and have a good comfoortable life up north with £2000 a month and even with less for a simple life.
We've lived in Thailand since Oct 2012. We owned a large home for eight years in a suburb of Bangkok. We built a new home just over five years ago, 38 km NE of Chaing Rai. Except for the burning season (high PM 2.5), I love the area and the people! I'm so happy to see more and more tourists visiting the North.
Thanks so much for giving all correct information about the boys especially that part about them entering the cave "before the monsoon season". A lot of people misunderstood these boys badly on this point 🙏🙏🙏
We left Chiangrai to return to the UK a couple of days before the boys got stuck in the cave and there had been a lot of heavy rain over the previous week.
I'm having family trip to northen Thailand once a year (focus on Maehongsorn loop). Seeing the super cars/bikes with Malaysian plate around there is nothing rare at all. These Malaysians sure do love Thailand's road trip, and thank to them, many places became merrier.
The white temple was stunning! Seeing the actual cave were all those young boys were trapped made me cry again, the movie they made was heart breaking for all of them and so so sad to think Duangphet Phromthep survived that and now not with us anymore😟 Thankyou for sharing Chris and Marianne, loved this weeks video. Takecare Love Rose xx
I wish you both could have been driving all around Thailand a lot longer like for a few months or so. Maybe you two will come back and spend more time in Thailand again the next time. Well, drive safely; lord Buddha bless you both. 😊❤
I have so much admiration for all those that risked their own life’s to help get the boys out, not easy, yet they managed to overcome all the difficulties 🫶👏👏👏 That 🕷️ was massive 😮😮😮😮 I bet you could have stayed at the Homestay for so much longer, so peaceful 👌🫶
Nice video again thanks. I've been to the White temple 3 times before, the last time was almost a year ago. Love the atmosphere there and the beauty. The little tin things hanging above the walkways are are tributes to those who have passed before us. You pay a nominal fee and write the names of your loved ones on it with supplied pens. They are hung in a few suppled tree structures initially the transferred to the walkways when the trees are full. I wrote the names of my late Mother and sister who both would have loved it. Top tip: Get there by at least 9am to beat the bus tours then you will have a lot more freedom :)
You can easily extend you Thai visa for another 30 days. That woulkd make more sense than going back to Malaysia. Just ship from Bangkok to Chennai, most probably..
For sure you are so cool. With all the trouble you are facing driving back to KL. The best thing. I did learn from you is your smiling n laughing out loud. This are the best medication for stress out. Thank you keep on driving. Safe Journey down south. And never pay policeman on the spot. There is no such rule here in Thailand or Malaysia 😅
What a journey you brought us on this week, from the poignant cave rescue to the incredible white temple and back to that peaceful farm 😊 I loved your music choices this week, they fitted perfectly with the video 👍🫶
I’ve only just discovered your channel, watched the most recent one first and binging back in time. You two have such a great vibe and it’s a real pleasure to spend time “in your company”. ❤
We have been to Chang Mai several times, brilliant ,a favourite memory was at a restaurant where on an adjacent table. A group of Thai men were eating their meal followed at every mouthful by a sip of whiskey
Fabulous video once again we so enjoy Sundays watching you both travelling what a fantastic beautiful place Thailand is.We are stilll here in Telford hoping to move back to France soon.Take care of yourselves Stay Safe and carry on enjoying your travelling xx
You are two very brave people. Seeing all your trouble with visas and border crossings, I would definately gone nuts! How nice it would have been with peace all over the world, and easy border crossings. But yes, I love your adventure across the world.
I so look forward to traveling with you every Sunday. Your video is the first thing I enjoy when I wake up to have my coffee. I love going along with you to al the wonderful places and adventures you go on. Continued lovely traveling!
Thanks for showing us the cave that the 13 kids were trapped. I was at Golden triangle almost 20 years. White temple is also amazing, I was there to see light and sound effects show in 2018. It still looks the same, peaceful and beautiful. This is fantastic trip, real and relaxing. That's right, adventure may be dangerous but routine is lethal!
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. Thailand is such a unique and epic place and the white temple is so awesome it must take a lot of bleach to keep it looking so clean. Thanks for letting us ride along with y'all on y'all's journey around the world.
Every sunday I am looking forward to watch your youtube video. It's almost feels like I kind of know you as a frend. I also love the kind way you look at people and the world. Love from Belgium ❤.
That white temple is so beautiful! I'll put it in my calendar to visit in 2070 so I can see it completed 😅 Hopefully all the tourist dollars are helping fund it's upkeep and restoration. So glad you get to enjoy these adventures!!!
One reason the white temple is so amazing is that it’s not consecrated as a temple, it’s actually one giant art installation proclaiming the architects love of Buddha. It’s his desire that it will be consecrated one day and he continues to add to it. It’s one of the most astonishing I’ve ever seen and can’t wait to see what’s been added when I go back.
It is a temple, with an abbot, monks, novices, and everything. They just tend to stay out of the way ever since the abott allowed Chalermchai to transform it from one that looked like any other temple into this.
@@oolieboolieyeah thank you for that correction I was told it wasn't as the senior monks in Thailand object to the fact it is an art installation.. But I see on google there are many differing accounts. Whatever though its a magnifcent thing to see and spend time in.
@@BrianBeuken I grew up just around the corner from there and my Thai mother used to take me there quite regularly when it was a normal temple, years before all this white temple stuff. Needless to say, the tithes are a lot more substantial now than back then!
@@oolieboolieyeah I hope to visit again this year, when my Thai wife and I come for our yearly family visit. Even without the temple Chiang Rai is a stunning part of Thailand.
I love the quotes at the beginning of your videos, but OMG today’s hits different. I REALLY love that quote. My wife and I were just talking about “career life” and the monotony and repetitiveness of it. Perfect timing friends! Keep trucking y’all! 👍
I have been to the White Temple, Blue Temple. Stunningly beautiful. I spent 2 months in Thailand but had no vehicle. I did not see enough but loved the country and the people as well as the food. It looks even more beautiful in the White Temple. I was there in 2019.
What a fantastic video. We actually live in Chiang ria your video was very accurate information but you also made it exciting .it's making us want to revisit these places.
Wouldn't mind travelling round the north again. Many places I didn't visit when I lived in Bangkok in the mid-90s. I gave up on the tourist zones of the south over 10 years ago due to tourist over development.
Yes incredible we've been there last year and just amazingly beautiful after that we visited the blue temple in Phrae and just as amazing Thailand in many ways is incredibly amazing
Yes he evidently committed suicide, very very sad, he had so much in front of him. After all he had gone through, maybe the pressure to succeed was just too much.
Love watching your videos of things that I would never be brave enough to try, your relationship and joy in exploring the world is amazing to watch. Thank you
That White temple in Chaingrai is not a real temple but an outdoor art displays by the well known and respected artist around the world. You had missed quite few places before loop back to the south. I’m enjoying your travel videos being travel lover also. I was at the white temple six weeks ago and it really is spectacular. I loved the drone shots over it. The Blue Temple in Chiang Rai was really nice also.
Wow, I keep cave isopods, Cubaris, and Merulanella species that are found in caves in South East Asia. Most notably, Vietnam. But that cave reminds me of the environment they would live in. Looking forward to Phuket, KL and the India.❤
