im not American, but i'm guessing it's part of a tradition. at least for them, it is. tradition doesn't always call for the most rational option. plus the show kind of sends a message that literally every woman dreams of getting married and having a big wedding.

Its nice having a day celebrating your love andd acknowledging it in front of your loved ones And talking about why . Its a recent notion I guess to get married just for love . In the previous times it was a symbol of union between two families. Not just two souls. Hence the big function . Its still is in a lot of cultures

They dont pay for college or wedding and dont take any responsibility for their child and land in oldage retirement homes alone ... sooo sad
