I really need to be more driven. I'm at such a low point in life and I know change is needed. Problem is, I know a change has been needed for years, and I yet to begin that journey.

Start small. Don’t take in too much. Starting new things is oftentimes very difficult unless life circumstances compel you to change. Little changes are easier to manage and overtime they will snowball. I know it’s a year late but I hope you are doing well in your journey.

@@davidcardinal3654 thanks dude! Life is totally different right now in a good way. I got a new job I've been at for a month and it's good money. I'll finally be able to live a normal financial life for the first time. Been dating a great girl for 2 months and it's going well. Things are looking up! Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you for doing the stretches on UA-cam. It’s easier for me to follow along. Stretching is everything! Thank you for teaching us how to keep our bodies limber.

This video made me remember the times I’d hang out with my friends, climbing on top of counters and laying on the floor to talk about life. A simple and peaceful video. Thank you. Glad to be a part of the Flexy Gang.

Motivation has one chemical currency in the body, apparently, and that's dopamine level. Andrew Huberman's youtube talks on current Neuroscientific understanding of this- just mind-blowing & makes sense & I hope this helps, fam

Absolutely love the feedback, seriously thanks! And I LOVE the huberman podcast. But I wish I knew more about the dopaminergic system when I made this video! There as several things I’d like to add. I read Drive by Daniel H Pink and it really impacted me so that was the inspiration for this video!

Nice video! Needed to hear this as Im trying to build a routine in staying limber and flexible. My day job is very physically demanding and in the evenings all I wana do is chill, but in doing so I tend to stiffen up more then I kick myself for sitting on my butt. Once you get it started, its all worth it. Think the thought is the worst part.

Seeing this two years later, I see that Shorts format really works for your stuff so well. But the motivated/driven dichotomy is really helpful.
    Thanks.

I really struggle with sustaining the drive to do things... in general. Like I know there are some things I *should* be doing (getting back to eating a healthier diet, back into the swing of things with exercise, etc) but I am not doing them at the moment. There are reasons but those are not relevant to this comment.
I would like to thank you for your work. I often see your videos on Facebook reels (I had a hyperfixation with tt but it got to a "too much of a good thing" and I have barely opened it for the last year) and they are brilliant. You ooze positivity and the encouragement that you give people is fantastic.

I've never stretched regularly enough to see a difference. My flexibility seems set in stone. My brain tells me that if I did it consistently enough it would do something, but I've just never gotten to that point. How do you stay motivated for however long it takes to see any difference (which presumably would be motivating).

I loved to climb from the fence by our house onto the roof as a child at my great grandparents house, which of course nobody liked and i got yelled at, so seeing you just casually do it as an adult made me want to go out and sit on my roof

My motivation and drive go in cycles, though I rarely find myself sitting on the couch unless I'm tired (it seems a lot more lately). As for suggestions, perhaps you could set realistic expectations for us old timers. I haven't any idea of what I should expect from this tired, old body that has been pushed beyond the breaking point many times. Keep up the excellent videos. They are very informative.

it's super hard because like, I wanted to say "why would I do something I don't want to do unless I NEED to do it? Obviously it's not for me." But lack of motivation can make me not want to do things that I actually enjoy, or try new hobbies that I might enjoy, so yeah, I do gotta just actually do something instead of zoning out for hours. I guess like, when you're depressed it's hard to do literally anything and for me it's very easy to get used to just not trying, or not pushing myself, and I wanna do that less.
