Nice one thanks for watching Steven, have still to try Harelaw despite it being close to where I live. I always fancied their curry club nights during the summer :)
Hi Robert. Think I saw you up on the water last week. in up there most days. I've been struggling over the last few weeks but a black nothing fly size 16 was doing really well for me. Alex and and Bobby are cracking lads youll always be made welcome.
Hi Robert. Hope your well. I was wondering if there is a toilet there. Just one or two fisherys i have been to don't. Nothing worse when you have to pack up and go if you know what u mean.
I love it Martin, I use it with an 8 weight line and it casts really well! Nice action on it too. Yeah I think I read somewhere the Reach line of rods was a direct collaboration or exclusive partnership with Guideline and certain retailers with John Norris being one of them. That’s maybe why you won’t find info on them on the Guideline site.
Cracking video. Loved the tactics at the start. Fishing with lures is my kind of fishing (damsels, rabbits, cormorants, ally mccoist, dancers) right now a lot of fisheries these don't work at all, is this because of the time of year or are they not putting fish into the water very often these days? I may fish borland at some point, I've fished broomhill which isn't far from there. May also try burns fishery
Thanks very much for watching Brian! I think with lures its just really if the fish are in the mood for chasing. I find when the water cools a bit further into autumn they can really switch onto them if they are feeding on fry. I do quite well with patterns like pearly damsels, rabbit zonkers and humungous/shuggy type patterns. Would recommend Borland for a go, great value for money.
@@robertdoesfishing thanks pal a guy I know used to fish it a lot, he doesn't fish now, Graham Bickett. I'll be popping down soon and up to give woodburn another benefit of the doubt.
@@robertdoesfishing thanks for the explanation, and talking about your leader connecting to the fly line loop I use a perfection loop, slide it over the fly line then pull your leader through the fly line hole, it spreads the strain to 2 sides of the fly line loop. (ends up looking like a figure of 8)
Thanks Rab there’s a few fisheries I’d like to try that are further afield. Think I see a good few report from Ledyatt on one of the Facebook pages, looks like a great place 👍
Hi. Can you tell me the prices and ticket times for catch and release. I live a few hrs from it. Would like to give it a go. Dies it open early and fish late.😊
Hi Malcolm, day sessions are from 9am till 4pm. I think they are still running evening sessions from 4pm till dusk at the moment but at some point they stop those when the nights start drawing in. Non member catch and release prices are £12 for a day session, £10 for evening session and £18 I think for all day 9am till dusk. They have a Facebook page and are pretty responsive on the messenger if you need any further info.
Excellent video, really enjoyed watching it. What stillwater fly fishing is all about. None of this bung rubbish.

Is harelaw best dona the left hand side? I've been once and went down the right hand side right up as far as I could go.? Thanks.

Hey Malcolm, they have a portaloo.
How do you find the guideline reach. Seen it advertised at john noris but not much more info anywhere online. Nothing even on the guideline website
I love it Martin, I use it with an 8 weight line and it casts really well! Nice action on it too.

Hi. Robert. Forgot ta ask you. What is the depth of the top loch you were fishing. Has it a average depth or is it deeper one end than other.
