I’ve looked at this game a lot. Now that I have seen your play thru, I am thinking of picking it up. It has been out for a while, 6 years in fact. Thank again for the video.
@Stewart King I think it's a solid game and great on it's own. I know many people that love the expansions, and of course taking it to the next level with Roll Player Adventures. Somehow, I have resisted those additions. Truly a miracle. lol Hope you enjoy!
What a fantastic video. You have a clear voice, you don't speak too fast, and you explain things well. I recently acquired the game Roll Player and the expansion Monsters and Minions. I was able to purchase them through a second-hand website. I had read before, for example on BGG, that the expansion is really worth it. But first, let me learn the basics. I learn new games by a combination of reading the rulebook and watching UA-cam videos. Your video is my tutorial haha. Thanks for this.
Thank you so much for showing off one of my favorite solo games. Roll Player is such a nice puzzle to sit and solve and does not take too long and is not overly complex. I will agree with most of the comments that Monsters and Minions expansion is a must and I hope you feature it in a future video. It was also fun to see you and Quackalope together and I look forward to more collaborations. Thanks again Dale and keep the excellent content coming!
Thanks for watching! And it's been fun connecting with people on line, and meeting some in person! Jesse at Quackalope definitely loves playing games ... and recording everything! :)
This is such a great idea for a game...it hits all the right buttons, especially coming from a lifelong role player and dungeon master (or games master depending on the system).
Great game, glad you're enjoying this. I would also recommend finding an expansion, try it out somewhere and see if you like it. It gives the game a bit more narrative as you're working towards killing a boss at the end, and fighting smaller minions on your way there.
Love this game! Monster and minions expansion is a must have imo as it makes it feel like a complete game. Also migrating your character to roll player adventures for a full on campaign is even better! RPA plays great solo btw. Hint hint lol.
Okay just watched this, playing it solos seems very easy. They should have added a mechanic that discards one of the dice when it would not be your turn. This way you can always just take the best die that you want and will score much better that way. Maybe you want to show us a session of building a character and taking it on an roll player adventures run? I still must play my roll player adventures game. Played the Roll Player "build a character game" sometimes already.
@@DaletheCasualGamer Jup you can convert the character that you made into a Roll Player Adventure "PC". That sounded so cool that i backed the project instantly back then.
This game has a very strange theme but it is what got me to try it. Ended up being a game I really liked but will admit I prefer this one with others over solo.
@TechnoGolem Glad you enjoyed the game! And like you, I prefer this game multi-player, but it is still my favorite solo dice chucker. Thanks for watching! :)
I really need to play this game more, as it is simple and enjoyable. But I say this about all my games that aren’t Marvel Champions. I can’t keep that one off the table for long…
Hey Dale.. I keep looking at this game for solo. I can't afford the expansion yet. How fun is this solo without expansion? Does it justify the cost in your opinion?
@Thomas Oney I don't have the Monsters & Minions expansion and still enjoy the game. But if you play it and enjoy it, would definitely recommend it once you have the funds. Happy gaming! :)
Dale the Boring Old Human? I dunno. By the end you looked like reasonable dungeon fodder. It’s every first D&D session forever. Rumor has it there’s more to this system coming. I hate all game money but am too cheap to buy a civilized set of chips. Dice, otoh, I love them all. I would house rule anyone complaining about rng in this game gets socked with the bag. I’ve been wondering if I would like this game and thanks to you (again) I have a much better understanding.

I have not played this game nearly as much as it deserves. It’s so good!
@Get Up and Game! Guess you'll have to get up super early to rectify that! But like gaming, sleep is needed too. Good luck! ;)
Thanks for a GREAT video. No need to read the rule book, after watching this solo playthrough. I am no ready to play.
@E Rousseau Thanks for watching, and happy gaming! :)

@writerguy911 The theme is there for many RPGers. Oh, and you finally "forced" me to get Machina Arcana. ;)
Roll Player is one of my favorite games! This is a great playthrough to illustrate how the solo variant works. Nice job.
@Jonathan Weeks This is one of my favorite "older" solo games, so had to get a playthrough on the channel. :)

@Willem Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into it! :)

@Nathan Lewis lol Thanks for the hints. My willpower is low ... my game funds are lower, which will prevail? It's another game within the game! :)
Wow, u nailed it man!
For once in my life ... the dice cooperated!! :)
Thanks for watching!
I'd love to try this game!

Thanks for watching! I'm assuming I did the "building" ... but I haven't played Roll Player Adventures. :)

Do I see the Descent into Avernus dice tray? 🙃

@TheVlad1616 I know the feeling, so many games, so little time and table space. lol
@@DaletheCasualGamer I only have a handful and have that issue, I’ve seen your collection/videos….you have no chance of playing all of yours.

Dale the Casual Ole Human ... but I can see the resemblance. lol

@idjester lol
