If hed have lived another twenty years hed be considered one of the best actors of all time. He was every bit as good as Anthony Hopkins, daniel day Lewis or anyone else I can think of that's a master of his craft. What a shame to lose him so young.
Hollywood would have never accepted a Puerto Rican actor to be on the same level as Anthony Hopkins, or any white actor, sadly. Latino thespians get even more hell than black thespians.
@Feblik The mere fact that he is Puerto Rican exactly. There has always been an unjust treatment towards islanders in Hollywood. It's the reason celebrities like Fankie Muniz, David Blaine, and Vanna White conceal their Puerto Rican lineage. They wouldn't have gotten work if they hadn't. There are many Puerto Rican and Dominican actors and singers throughout Hollywood whose fans have no knowledge of their background, because they keep it hidden for self-preservation. The only celebrities who make a hardcore effort to showcase their island heritage are Jennifer Lopez and Zoe Saldana, both of which waiting until after they've achieved fame to do so.
The first time I discovered Raul Julia was when I saw him playing the character Strom in Clint Eastwood’s 1990 film The Rookie. Raul was the main bad guy character
@@ORTHODOX-PATH Raul died from complications of a Stroke,he had also been ill with Cancer before and then he suffered from a Stroke and went into a coma, very sad :( ..,you was very Lucky to meet him, bless you
Raul Julia sounds nothing like Javier Bardem as there are a few things that sets them apart, for one thing Raul had almost perfect English with a slight accent compared to Javier he speaks English but with a very heavy accent. Now if we’re talking about the tone of voice Raul had a higher tone and spoke clearly for the most part in my opinion, compared to Javier where his is a bit deeper and he doesn’t always speak clearly as his heavy accent can get in the way a lot of the time(in my opinion), and I’m not jabbing at him for that as that’s not a bad thing, it obviously doesn’t prevent him from getting roles. I’m just trying to point out some of the differences between the two.
@@G10-n7f slight differences yet they sound alike. What I said a manner of speaking not perfectly literal. They sound similar except ones a Spaniard and the others a Puerto Rican/New Yorker.
RIP. I love his voice! What a talent and and pride he brings to Puerto Rico. Wish he could have been around longer :(

One of the truly great actors.
Cannot believe it has been nearly 30 years since his passing.
A sexy Puertoriqueno, may this beautiful man rest in peace
He was a center of gravity performer. Whatever the role or scene, when he entered the space, all eyes were on him. He had comedic timing, too.
Such a beautiful man. Such insightful answers.
