  • This is a very quick repair of a PANASONIC RQ-L349 Cassette Recorder a friend of mine brought me as not fully operational.
My voice for the introduction was recorded on tape exactly with this model once fixed.
    Hope you'll enjoy!
    Cheers!

Odd coincidence, I just bought today in a flea market a used RQ-L340 which is a similar but older model (my guess is early 90's) My experience with Panasonic stuff is that "it just works" and indeed in my case all it needed was a new belt (the old one was a bit too stretched) and two drops of oil in the motor bearing. I had a speaker failure once but it was a digital recorder; I stole the replacement from a donor microcassette recorder. Have you measured the impedence of the damaged speaker ?

Yes, indeed, it just works, and I also noticed the weight. It's really light, and looks almost like there is nothing inside. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing, but ok. No, I didn't measure anything because I'm not that skilled. I just thought it could be a speaker problem and eventually I found a similar replacement speaker on eBay. That's it.

Thank you so much sir! What a lovely job u've done. I am so happy it works now! Great video! Hats down. I wonder too, what was the actual reason of a damage, wherher that could be due impedence failure or something as @enricoself2256 wrote.

My pleasure! Not that skilled yet to check any impedence failure of a speaker, so I went straight to the replacement option and I enjoyed it a lot :)) Next time I ll try to learn also how to check it.
