You guys live in the crystal mecca state. Early Feb is the Tuscan gem show and it’s Massive. One of the biggest (maybe The biggest), in the world 💎

Adam’s sandwhich joke - simultaneously a dad joke (which I love), and lewd (which I also love) 🙌🏻

I don't make fun of Kanye. But the things he says are just horrific. I was listening to him being a guest on Lex Friedman's podcast and I had to stop more than halfway through, because it was just so awful. If he needs help, whatever diagnosis he has, he should get it. And in that podcast it was quite obvious that he needs some. But I can't have respect for him, if he refuses to reflect on himself and the situation he is in.

yeah I've not listened to that interview. I think Kanye was probably *forced* into getting help - due to the many comments he makes about medication making him gain weight and other unpleasant side effects, it's pretty clear he doesn't enjoy taking it and resents it (relatable), so I wouldn't be surprised if he goes off of it every so often and then we get these headlines and media continues to interview and platform him while he's in this state (essentially taking advantage imo). I wouldn't be surprised if his refusal to get help contributed to his divorce too.
I feel you on the lack of self-reflection/awareness tho. songs like "I Feel Like That" make me think he is way more self-aware than meets the eye, and he even straight-up says in the Netflix documentary that Kanye is a character he's playing, so maybe it's all a charade, who knows? I guess as someone who grew up with a mentally ill black father, I see a lot in him I recognize. I guess I don't think anyone is ever past the point of redemption. he could still apologize, get help, make amends, and make the greatest comeback of all time. I just feel like people would rather see him burn than ever turn things around.

@@SheWantstheDiction I don't want to see him burn and I agree that some of the things he does, might be because of the struggles you are describing. Totally get that. But that's an explanation, not an excuse. I'm sure you know that unfortunately too well. He very proudly said in this podcast, that he is off meds for two years or so. And I'm definitely not saying meds can solve all the problems, they definitely can't. But if he is actually self-reflective, like you are describing him from how you experienced him in the documentary, I couldn't see any of that in this podcast. And it was a conversation, that lasted more than two hours, so my impression is not based on a headline or some clickbait garbage. And there's no way I can overlook the antisemitism and his supporting of Trump and his right wing allies. And Kayne is someone who actually has all the resources possible, so if he uses them, gets better and does better, I am willing to give him another chance.

@@ameliareads589 definitely agree and would never say a mental health issue excuses racism in any way, shape, or form. racism is something he experiences as well and unfortunately it's common within many minority groups to be prejudiced against another minority group or even against themselves when it makes zero sense. (thanks, white supremacy!) unfortunately most people have some type of prejudice even if they keep it hidden or are unwilling to admit it out loud.
yeah, much of the doc footage was from his early career so it's possible he changed between then and now. not asking you to overlook anything, but at the end of the day, neither of our opinions on this matter. we don't know him personally. all said, celebrities will keep on being celebrities and corrupt people will keep on ruling the world.
