Sorry a way late comment but I was cracking up @ 5:15.. haha put a smile on my face after a long day AND your playing Shot Caller theme @ 9:10!? Your editorial skills are on point my boy 😁
So many cuts from cell tab ends...video/testing wasn't confusing. Would like to see the results of more packs that you purchase. Thanks for supporting Joe, Terry!
I've disassembled a number of these and have had mixed results on them. Highest capacity with opus was around 2750mAh and lowest around 600mAh. I've also had a few dead cells and a couple groups that were around 2v which turned out to be junk cells. Overall from the ~1300 cells reclaimed from these packs I was able to create a 14s80p pack with a few cells leftover that have under 75% capacity remaining
I would say you did pretty good!!! I also hear a few were able to recover the low cells with more cycles. I may try a few more and see if they improve.
@@AveRage_Joe Yeah, I'm not complaining one bit. I did have a few that would be considered heaters so they didn't make it beyond the initial charge test and went straight into the bin. I also rechecked the resting voltage on the batteries that have been organized into the 14s80p packs and found a few that dropped from ~4.1v to 4v and one that dropped down to ~3.5v (which was immediately binned and replaced). I will need to run them through the testers again and test each pack after fully assembled.
Bought mine from local E-recycler. Most all of mine are crap. But yeah, the cell holders are awesome. Saving mine for a portable generator project. Great video Joe!
Good Job Joe. I had bought some of those packs last year from ebay and Had the same results. Had a bunch that took a few cycles to come back up in value but I still could only trust about 60% of the cells.

Another great video there mate, no where else do you get so much tail lol Yes those battery cases are nice... shame they aint blue. Ow and i was half expecting that long silence to end with a scream and a cat in the face like the scary short videos lol
Wish we got the snow! Yeah high temps next week lol. No I havent used those personally, I hear they are garbage and really only for learning ect.. Dont think you can draw much from them. If you got them, I would send back for a refund for sure! Thats my opinion tho!😄🤘
Maybe simpler explanation... Looks like you already know how to copy a cell into your clipboard. After that click and hold the first cell you want to paste it into, drag the mouse to the last cell. Then ctrl-v (Windows). It's done. If you have a formula in the cell you copied, it will automatically change the reference cells to each new cell. Such as in cell B1 you have "A1 * 12" and you copy that to cell B2, the formula will become "A2 * 12" automatically. There are ways to prevent auto-formula-update but I'll let you read the help files to learn how to do that.
I had gotten a bunch of those gray Panasonic cells from battery hookup probably a year or more ago and they took solder way better than most 18650s not sure why but just something I noticed
Once again....Another great video after another...after another....and another....You get the picture....CAT! Keep em coming sir! AverageJoe for President..LOL

Cat hair is insulating enough, especially when dry. You just need a thick layer - like fur :-) Unfortunately that leads to static charge build up. Especially in dry winter air and my cats don't like the sparks
Hi JOE, Yet another great vid. I recently came across a problem with my LiiTokarla engineeres, & thought you possibly may like to see if you have any problems with yours. After sorcing laptop packs & stripping in the normal way, i first stage charge all cells @ 500ma with my 10 opus bt-c chargers & write the v,s on each. i rest the cells for 30 days or so & check the volts with a XTAR DRAGON vp4 plus. if ok i have been using 8 LiiTo engineers set on NOR test 500ma without realy paying attention to each cells voltage going in or coming out, the problem iv recently found is many cells over 4.15v on NOR test come out full @ well below 4v. yet if i put those same cells back into my opus,s they again come back upto around 4.1 or over, so i have stoped using the lito,s. i am now retesting around 4k rejects with good results so far. Did i buy a bad batch of chargers or is it a common fault ?
Hmmmm..... I dont think Ive noticed anything crazy like that. I know each charger has there differences but under 4v is bad for sure. Kinda sounds like a bad batch for sure! Where did you get them from?
@@AveRage_Joe suggest if you have a undervoltage rejects pile from your liito chargers you try them again with the opus,s. or save any under 4.1vs from the next weeding batch then try. id be well interested in your findings.

Hereeeee's a question... why.... not use the cases for the cells that came out of them and make a.... battery bank of rechargeable cells? like the one you just took a part, but devised for your own amusement, of course. Thank you for the video, you have just sourced my initial foray into Powerwall.
Yeah that would be a possible plan. I do plan to reuse the cells (except pack 2 lol) and case for some other project. Ya you could use the entire pack as is and link them together for a quick diy powerwall build. I hear the bms on these usually work as well!
Mmmmm yes in a nut shell lol. I take them apart so I can test each cell so I can add to the current powerwall. The cases were a bonus and can use them for another project.🤣
Hey I can get these pack pretty cheap from my second vendor in case you want some more...I can hook you up with the battle bot kid...I personally don't like these batteries and have had my fair share of experience with them. But that's me. Hope they work out for you!!!
