I love this even though I’m seeing it years after you made it! Timeless project. For those sizes that go off the board, I crafted a support. I cut a piece of cardboard the size of the punch board plus 2” on the long side. I clued 2” strips of cardboard to the right side of my base, layering them until they are the same height of the punch board on that right side. Then I glued a heavy weight cardstock strip on top of the cardboard strips making the entire layered right side strips even with the height of the punch board. Now I can score off the punch board.
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I've just tried it for 5x7 cards and it's so quick and easy. No more wrong cuts or wonky boxes for me 😊 🦋
Have had the punch board for years and just found this video and am delighted to be able to make the boxes with just easy clear instructions. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing! 'So grateful for the measurements you provided. I was able to make a box holder for some of my 6x6 papers. I changed the 1/8" measurement to 1" to allow about an inch stack of my 6x6 paper pads. You're a great teacher!
Awesome! I love the way you explained how to use the envelope punch. I was ready to return it because the sizes weren't matching, etc. As you were showing how to, I did one with you and it turned out beautifully. Thank you for an outstanding tutorial...
I'm so glad I came across your video. This is an awesome idea. I'll use it to gift a friend lots of cards she can give away to others. Thanks for sharing!!! 💕
Followed you easy to follow directions and I made a box for the set of cards I made today. Great tutorial. Great directions. Great explanation. Great teacher ;-). Thank you so much.
Your instructions are so easy to follow and you are so adorable like when you said you didn't know where the red tape was in this mess!!! I can so relate:)
I have just viewed a dozen card box videos and finally I found this one by you from 2013. However I am trying to make a box for a 4 1/4 inch x 4 1/4 inch square note cards from our paper Pumpkin kit . I was able to make one 4 7/8 ". However perhaps you might have some previous measurements for a more accurate size.. thanks for sharing your creative ideas.
Thank you Frenchie, I love this tutorial...you are brilliant. One question, I have the envelope maker but wonder when you first punch and then move around do you line up the little sticking out part in the center of the score mark, at the front edge or back edge of the line you have scored. I am not sure at what point they want you to line it up at....Thx. pat
I really enjoyed watching your video! Just what I was looking for to make an advent calendar for my goddaughter (I know its a long time until december but christmas always comes earlier than expected😀)
That was perfect! I'm just getting started and this video was the best at making a box for my cards!! One question hopefully you will respond... I want my box to be deeper but the same width. What should I do???
I love watching your video I seem to have a hard time making them after I score them a seems like they don't want to match up the three that you put together but I'll have to keep making them till I get it right thank you for sharing this with me
Hey your video was very helpful But you indicated for the last sized envelope you needed to increase the paper by 1.25 inches that would mean that the cardstock would of had to be 13.25 inches but can you please indicate at what marks would the punch and score would of that to be? Thank you Sameha
can you do this with a smaller depth eg half an inch and how would this affect your calculation of the size of the card please. So the second score is 0.5" more than the first score line
+France “Frenchie” Martin : thanks but that doesn't answer my question. I found my answer from your blog. A: after making the first score by increasing it by 1/8", the second score is 1" bigger than the first. This info is in your blog but not on your UA-cam. Thanks so much! I truly enjoy watching all your videos!!
Hi France If you go into box buster at thecraftyowl.co.uk/boxbuster/ there is a calculator there where you put in the measurement of whatever size box you want to make and it calculates and shows you how and where to score. A very informative video is there too.
*Your square of paper need to be 1-1/4″ bigger then the board tell you and the first score 1/8″ bigger then the board tell you then the second score is one inch bigger then your first score. I don't have the board anymore so this the best measurement I can tell you
I need to make a card box for. 5 1/2x7 1/2" anniversary card. the tips you gave puts my second score line at 5 5/8 however the punchboard only goes to 5" please help.
France Martin what are the measurements of the paper guide? For an A7 dimensional envelopes it says paper size “26”....Um 26 what? Feet? Inches? Centimeters? Thank you! Thank you!
+Debra Jones I did a box for a 5 x 7 card with no problem just increasing the measurements like she said .. the only challenge is that the paper is off the score line a couple of inches but really not a real issue.
Cara Malmrose I need to make one for a 5 1/2 x 7 1/2" anniversary card but my second score line would be 5 5/8 and the punch board only goes to 5" can you please help me?
TFS. I have a ? though. Have you tried making a box that would fit more than 4 cards and envelopes? I usually make 8 cards with envelopes and would love to use my punch board.

That was perfect! I'm just getting started and this video was the best at making a box for my cards!! One question hopefully you will respond... I want my box to be deeper but the same width. What should I do???
You would have to increase the size of your card stock and then increase the score line sorry I don't have a bigger one
Can you please do a tutorial for a box that fits a 6x6 card? Thanks
Was there ever a tutorial for the 6x6? Thanks.

Hi, can I use the envelope punch to make boxes as well or do I have to purchase them separately? Loved your tutorial!
All these box was made with the envelop board
I want to put windows in the top of my boxes could you advise the best way to do this please?
You would need to cut an opening in the front and ahdere a window sheet or vellum inside
Hey your video was very helpful

The size was 8 x 8 so 8 x 8 plus the 1 ¼ it is 9 ¼ x 9 ¼
can you do this with a smaller depth eg half an inch and how would this affect your calculation of the size of the card please. So the second score is 0.5" more than the first score line

Hi. Thank you for your video. However, I have a quick question: you never stated how to calculate the second score.
+annslee71 after the first score that will be your guide for the second score
+France “Frenchie” Martin : thanks but that doesn't answer my question. I found my answer from your blog. Hi Frenchie - what about 5 - 5x7 cards with envelopes. Can you help with measurements for that. I love your videos, thanks for them
I don't think I can cause the paper the I have is biggest is 12 x 12 and I would need giddier for a box for 5 7 or I would have to join paper together
+Debra Jones I did a box for a 5 x 7 card with no problem just increasing the measurements like she said .. the only challenge is that the paper is off the score line a couple of inches but really not a real issue.
+Cara Malmrose I just did the same thing and like you say - the paper is off the score line - but it isn't really an issue. :)Melody.
