I can't find the next video. This one was really good. I use harbor freight welders and they do great. I have the titanium 200 because I needed stick and tig also. I like the stance on the truck.
Right on man .. I loving the way you think an your ingenuity an working with what ya got !! Those are the best an most fun type of projects !! Looking real good ole son ! 👍👌I’m liking this build an can’t wait for your next video already.. great work
Don't think I would have welded those mounts to the frame. Grade 8 bolts are better. No welds to crack or tear out chunks of the frame on a side load. But it isn't my build it's yours. Looking forward to completion. Always wanted a short bed 3/4 ton truck.
Alright so I've seen the forums where people say just find a donor frame and swap over and that's good and all but this is where it's at right here doing the fabricating and measurements and what not. It's just awesome 3 times the work for 10 times more fun and reward so here is my question i have a 72 f251 yes i know that doesn't exist and it is not my typo my factory tag actually says f251, anyway if i was able to get you measurements down the road would you fabricate it up and ship it to me for a cost of course but it will be well done the road. Just curious. For now you certainly have a talent i hope to see more stuff just like this for years to come
i picked up a 70 high boy with dana 60/80 lockers rust free clean body ranger tool box on side but not a camper special for 250 bucks then traded for a 390 then i got a 70 motor home class c that has tilt wheel tach in dash rose etched interior chrome trim really nice condition got it free with a running 428 but bad c-6 trans also has cruise control wiper delay lots of cool interior stuff plus a mint front clip chrome bumper stainless steel mirrors with heaters in them. it is a side project but i will get it dun right now i been building a 68 chevy ss knock off with a stroke 454
ps for a stock high boy u can get military tires with about 75% tread for 25 bucks but for a ford u need 16.5 rims which i have a set for them they are 36.5 tires and they work on a stock truck i also have a set of 429/460 engine stands for a 67/72 3/4 ton just sitting
Sir, the Highboy trucks never had a dana 60 front, 80 rear from the factory. Instead of lying or believing crap that someone told you, do some research. Dana 60 rear full float 16 spline, front axles were dana 44 closed knuckle. And don't try to argue, our shop has been building 67-72 Highboy trucks since the mid 90s. Go on any ford Highboy forum and talk that nonsense and they will feed on you like sharks.
@@TheRoadhammer379 i have 16 but i get the 16.5 x 36.5 military tires for 25 bucks with 70 % to 80% tread on them. do u have an idea on how much i save on tires about 2000 bucks. i traded a set of chevy doors for a set of new 16.5 rims i just wish the rims that come with the tires was not chevy rims

I was fortunate that both my 67 and 68 250s came with Dana 60s but I think I want to do a swap for disk breaks and a 4x4 conversion. Nice video great job man
Why would you weld the leaf spring hangers to the frame instead of bolting them. You spent the time to fabricate the hangers why not spend a little extra time to include mounts on four places to bolt them to the frame properly?
Do you have any info on doing a front 1 ton swap on a 71 f250 I have a big lift wanting to run 44s I don't wanna spend the high dollar for a 77-79 front dana 60 if I can even find one that fits it do you have any info on fabrication for other alternatives that fit with minimal fabrication
welp, I feel stupid now. on a later video for the build log on this awesome truck I asked what the tire diameter was and you said it in this vid. I really need to pay attention and i'm sorry about that.
I just bought a 68 F-100 4x4. 390 4 speed from California. 99 percent rust/rot free. I'm so phychiced.
Hell yeah! That's a score to get one that clean!
Ford didnt put 390s in 4x4s
@@frankfitz3421no but people did.

Love the excitement in your voice when you looked at the profile. thats how I get.
Love to see it finally come together and it matches what you've been picturing!
This is great! Good job can’t wait to see how you do the front axle I have a 68 f250 I want to do this too as well!
Hell yeah, thanks!
heck yea man you got a short box 4x4 right there. im gonna have to talk my dad into this swap on his 68.

A set of alcoas would look sick they do on all Ford's 🤘💯
I've thought about it, but this truck has all base white trim. I think Alcoas would be too flashy.

I prefer welding, it's easier than drilling holes!

How expensive would it be to convert to a 4x4 on an old 70s style ford?
Very unless you can do the work yourself.
What model are those dodge axles u got them off of
They are off a 1995 Ram 2500.
