Never been interested in any Goldwings in the past, but this looks really nice and is a real departure from the old pattern. could be tempted in the future.
Hey Guys, we were the kids scootering on the Nevill Holt Lane, we managed to track you down! Sorry, if we got in some of ur shots. Really cool to see you riding some of the local roads!
Toasty Toast well done for tracking us down! Don’t worry you guys weren’t in the way, I used to scooter a bit when I was younger and then I went to bmx. Hopefully that’ll be step one for you guys to get a motorcycle when you’re older!
I already did the Harley Honda comparison......I now own a new Goldwing tour. I've had Harleys since 1993 this bike is just so refined, and in real terms cheaper because everything is already on it, but on a Glide is extra. And its going to last a million miles!!
To me, Goldwings have always been a two-wheeled near-death Florida snowbird's Winnebago, smelling of denture cream and Antiphlogistine. Never have been attracted to them. At all. But this one? Damn it looks nice. Almost like a sports bike. I dig it. Florida, here I come!
I want this bike! I own a 17 Africa twin DCT and its amazing, once you have some hours in the saddle slow maneuvers and off road riding become second nature and its brilliant. I’m not a fan of baggers but this one is so cool, great review!
Yours is the most informative, insightful, and comprehensive review on the Goldwing I have ever seen.It truly is a work of art, this, and if I didn’t have a plethora of Harley items, this would be on my short list as a replacement for one of my Harleys.Thank you for taking the time to present the Goldwing so completely. It is my pleasure to subscribe.👏👏👏👏👏
Great review... They do a naked version of this bike (Valkyrie) which is bad ass! The Goldwing is deffo on my list when I settle down and start touring the EU.
Great comprehensive review! It looks like the Lawbringer that Judge Dredd rides in the comics, luv it. I like the matt murdered out look and the plastic doesn't worry me either tbh, it's not pretending to be metal. I totally agree re Rider modes and having 4 bikes in one etc, it is tricky. Do they still come with an ashtray? (seriously though nice review and subbed) 😊👍🏍🖖
Wow amazing review, this was hands down the best overall review I’ve seen.nice job. I’ve been riding a 2017 Harley road glide ultra for 6 years,I truly loved this bike, but it’s now time to enjoy something a little lighter and more responsive.👍
Outstanding review. I've combed the internet and UA-cam for hours looking for information on the real world luggage capacity as well as attaching a bag to the rear seat. I'm picking up my 2021 B model Saturday and a 2000 mile road trip to New Orleans with a good friend. Thank you for being comprehensive. Cheers.
I have a dct africatwin and the dct thing is amazing, I can stand on it off-road without worrying about changing gears. Very nice review, looking for a goldwing, looks amazing
I have listened to 12 or more American people who did reviews on the new generation Goldwings and not one person mentioned the unique square bore and stroke, or the fact that it sounds like a Porsche. Thank you so much for not being boring! We need to know these critical details. 😊
That’s the first time I’ve heard that engine at various & slower speeds in a UA-cam clip and it sounds a lot better, deeper and more characterful than I feared. A lot of reviews seem to concentrate on the full force of the engine capabilities, the sportier element of the bike when in actuality, it is a cruiser. Thanks to your review I’m a little closer to a major contactless purchase which because I live ‘off shore’, pretty much eliminates any chance of a real live demo. Nice review 👍🏼
We’re glad it helped and agree with what you said. There are aftermarket pipe options if you want a louder sound ( a subscriber has put the links in the comments below the video)
I have a 2013 F6B and, like you said, it has a massive power band and it tracks corners like it's on rails. Beautiful ride, I just wish it had the built-in reverse ;-)
Great review guys to the point with more than enough info for potential purchasers. Loved the original Gold Wing Probably because as far as I know it was the first bike that could actually do 100,000 miles without being rebuilt 3 times. Bit too super scooterish look wise for my taste . But then I never was a fairing lover.
@Tony Franco I just got a 2019 and I don't think there have been any major changes, I put almost 200K on a 2012 Wing but this new GW is an extremely smooth fast bike, but to me, the handling is so much better. I'm 69 years old and have had many bikes over the years and I feel this may be the best big fast smoothest motorcycle made.
Middle of the night here. Woke up. I'll keep this until the morning and report back later. I love these bikes. Good morning. I agree: torque rules. 50 mpg is good. I love the retractable screen. I'd rather have foot boards. Good it doesn't have a touch screen. They're awful things. Top-loading panniers would be better. The horn is as loud as my Can-Am F3-S's. Does the paint on high-quality plastics fade? Excellent review of a quality motorcycle. Tilting Motor Works will be busy making a two-wheel adapter kit for the front. It will make it all really expensive, but I already have my three-wheeler which I treat as my car. What to buy as my big two-wheeler is my big question.
Such a cool bike. The horn is epic and the best in the business. Back lighted handlebar switches for night riding, technology for days, smooth, fast, torquey and looks fantastic. The DCT is quick off the line and a nice feature in traffic and long haul traveling. Honda makes good stuff with a history of proven reliability. The beard is classic. Ride safe and ride often. Peace.
I'm an Italian bike lover but I'm interested in this Goldwing. However, I clicked on the vid to witness the most epic beard ever. Rock on brother! Subbed. And wow that English countryside. Hope I can ride there someday!
That's called a Hossack front end. A brilliant design, many decades old, and I wonder why more makers don't use it. Prior Goldwings had standard tubes and more front brake dive. BMW's implementation is called Duolever, used on the K1600 since 2011.
I thought the same about the DCT. And so I had one. And after three months, it drove me mad. Never up shifted when I wanted, never down shifted when I wanted. Yes, could have used the push button to shift it myself. Got a bike with a quick shifter instead. Quite happy with that.
Hmmmm, I gotta Harley, but this review was quite detailed therefore my curiosity had me viewing it in it's entirety. Nice bike, great review guys! I've subscribed!
I'm a year late to the party, I realize, but this review is hands-down the best review of the Goldwing I've seen. And likely, one of the best for any bike, anywhere. Bravo! Subscribed.
Had the exact same bike now for three weeks. 2,500 miles in. Excellent. Only gripe is the throttle twist grip is not a perfect fit and seems to be a common issue. Only a problem on bumpy roads. Otherwise excellent bike.
One of the few Hondas (car or motorcycle) I would consider iconic. Looks great too. Giving it a DCT was an inspired idea, too. With its double wishbone front suspension it has an advantage over the Harley - under dive the trail doesn't change significantly and it even has a bit of anti-dive built into the geometry.
Convincing the wife is the hard part not the money. A very good and impartial review. Try and enjoy this bike on a german Autobahn the M1 is not the place for it.
That's a great review of such a great bike. I never thought I would be interested in a gold wing, but after so many years and grey hairs I'm now actually interested in one. After watching your review. I had no idea they have so many buttons 🙄 would take me weeks to learn them all. Well done again and I'll stick to my Harley, it has way less buttons which I like, my first Harley as an ex-pat in the US for about 30 yrs I thought it was time to try one 🤣 I look forward to more of your reviews. I'm about your height so I know the bike would fit, but not fit my wallet 🤔
The gold wing is the best motorcycle ever made since motorcycles were made, it offers the best engineering money can buy, the best motorcycle engine ever made since motorcycle engines have been made, comfort that no other motorcycle has, it offers the best storage capacity, and the Honda gold wing is infact the longest lasting motorcycle in the world with a world record of going 500,000 miles before rebuild, then after you rebuild the engine after 500,000 miles, it's good for another 500,000 miles, that is how well made the Honda gold wing really is, there is no other motorcycle in the world that is as well made as the Honda gold wing. It has amazing low center of gravity. I own a 1986 Honda gold wing interstate gl1200.I only paid $1000 for it, it is in amazing condition for the year, I had to rebuild the carburetors, and a new fuel pump, I bought it with 28,000 original miles, after I fixed her up she runs just as good the day she was made 38 years ago.
Top review. 1st bike that suits your size and frame ole man. Motorcycle luxury. The Japanese certainly know how to do this type of vehicle. Does it have the soul of the American iron though?
Definitely gonna be my next ride. I have the ctx700 dct and I can't say I want ever go back to normal manual shifting but having a dct option changes the game completely. Great video by the way 👏👍🏽
They need to bring back the Valkyrie concept. Put this drivetrain in an old-school cruiser. That was a wild bike. You'd think Honda would notice that old Valkyries are going for more money than they cost new. IF you can find one for sale.
Thank you, guys! This is a brilliant review of the GoldWing DCT. Being a 6’3” tall guy, I always follow the Ol’ Man’s recommendations, especially when it comes to this bike. I’ve been riding H-D bikes for almost 20 years, and now, despite the plastics (!), I’ve decided to switch to the Gentleman’s Bike, specifically the Tour version. There’s a saying about GoldWings: “Don’t you dare ride a GoldWing unless you’re open to buying one.” That’s exactly what happened to me: I rode one the other day, and, oh man, what a difference! Compared to my Road Glide Custom ‘22, the GoldWing is a completely different machine-smooth, incredibly comfortable, and amazingly responsive. I understand the whole appeal of the H-D world, but to me, the GoldWing is the best bike I’ve ever ridden.
After a history of riding powerful sport bikes (I still own a customized 2008 B-King), as I am getting older I am learning to love cruiser bikes. Or let's say comfortable bikes. I got a cheap '94 Honda Shadow 600 and absolutely loving it. Wouldn't mind riding around on this Gold Wing actually, it looks pretty and decently comfortable. I guess it makes for a wonderful ride. Like you said it is a gentleman's cruiser, looks very sleak and modern. And 24k is not even that high priced, especially if you compare it to the Harley Davidson Road King for example. Maybe some time in the future I might get something like this. And the old man finally found a bike where he doesn't look too big on, while riding it :D
Brilliant review. Nothing else to know on the philosophy behind the target group and the making therefor. I am from Germany, so please excuse my clunky expression mode, but you sound like a knowledgable chab having a pleasure in riding this monster ;) Kudos and if you happen to somehow appear somewhere in DE please drop me a line. Greetings, and thx for the sincere review. I am thinking of adding this to my riding park.
Like the reviews and your detail is excellent and informative. My only slight criticism is that the roads you test on are small country lanes. This means you never actually push the bike more than a gentle tootle around. Would love to see you expand your riding routes especially when reviewing a bike made for munching miles
Thanks Peter. We testride the bikes on all roads including duel carriageways and motorways. We don't film all of that for safety reasons and on our initial testride, we don't film at all. We try each bike at all speeds and for varying distances, and always include pushing the bike hard. Not only that, but above 50mph, the wind noise on the gopro is deafening and completely spoils the video, so the riding you see is done purely to show the bike moving. The filming is done separately.
Hey Guys! Another great review. You know, the more I see of this bike the more I like it. I tried the '15 Anniversary edition F6B and I liked it very much. I just couldn't do that locked in riding position. My feet kept hitting things and it just got too annoying. Plus my hips started hurting after a while with no way to take the pressure off. So that was that. I fear the same might be true of this new design. But you never know until you ride one. As for the DCT, no thank you. I will shift my own. I want to ride the bike, not have the bike ride me. That is just not the riding experience I want to have. Again, probably great for many, just not my style. I also had reservations about the new front end. Not so much the design , I questioned the quality of the components. But 2 years in I have not heard of any catastrophic failures, so maybe it's OK after all. There is the Traxxion Dynamics upgrade that can be done to improve things there if one is so inclined. Overall a very, very good bike. A little bit too expensive for me, and frankly it's just not enough to make me trade my trusty Vision! But definitely one to keep on the Radar. I know that later you compared it to the Harley, but really I see it's main competition as the BMW K1600B or Grand America. Now THAT would be an excellent head-to-head battle of the bikes!
Yes absolutely right Dennis. The HoldWing is tremendous and honestly better than the Harleys but it’s the cool factor it doesn’t score so well on. We should get round yo the BMW soon
The thing is, manual is more engaging for the rider. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but watch Gordon Murray talking about the new t 50 supercar. It’s really enlightening and applies to bikes too
Great review as always you guys! This is a lovely bike. The bagger DCT version is kinda hard to find in California and dealers are getting full MRSP or more for them. I will take this over the HD Road Glide bagger I think. thanks for sharing!
Great review. Please test the BMW tourer the 1250 RT, THAT IS RATED WORLD BEST - justified or is this huge beast. BTW Not sure my partner would be comfortable gripping on back for hours/days, you always need a lean on sold top box, ideally with integrated speakers.
THAT'S my biggest problem ... too much plastic! For all that money I need more apparent quality. There are too many plastic buttons and plastic panels and plastic doors and on and on. The plastic isn't even that impressive. There's a wobble or a lightness or an oil-canning to it all ... oh, and sorry, I need a clutch. Everything else is very nice, just not my plastic cup of tea. Mr. Darcy seems to be more engaged this video. He is becoming a fine reviewer. He kept his hands out of his pockets through almost all of the vid. Just think how good he'll be when his beard grows in. ;) Truly a _world class_ video. You covered everything I need to know and more. I'm looking for or looking forward to your Harley review. Thank you so much.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan the plastic is disappointing, BUT that speed and to meet budget and low emissions, it's probably the future of bikes. Carbon fibre would have added to the quality and the price.
I've watched this video numerous times, I'm am pleased to tell that I am currently in talks with my local dealer here to get this same exact model of goldwing. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽hopefully I can report back Wednesday or Thursday if the deal goes through. 🙏🏼
Luiz Carlos Laba No problem Luiz! It is a more comfortable ride for sure. The Harley is more involving and wild, whereas the Gold Wing is more refined and better behaved if that makes sense.
I own a Harley Davidson, my riding group (brother, 3 cousins and myself) consists of my Fat Boy, my brothers Honda Valkyrie, my three cousins with a Honda Gold Wing, Triumph America, and an Indian Challenger. We're quite well rounded, like the UN ! But every time we stop, everyone oohs and ahhs over the Gold Wing. Oh well !
Agree. Just bought a 21 model Bagger DCT..... its an astonishing motorcycle. Parked in beside my FLHRSI and the only choice to make is.....which one today? The Bagger def draws a crowd.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I won't tell my cousin you said that. But seriously, not a looker ? I'm a true blue HD man and I look at the latest model Gold Wing and think, that thing is about the sleekest bike around. It looks like it's going 100 mph just sitting there. But, to each his own, even if you're wrong.😉 ✌
I must’ve watched hours and hours of motorcycle reviews on UA-cam but this is the most objective, well presented review I’ve ever watched. Most importantly it’s a UK based review. Excellent review guys, keep up the good work.

Thanks buddy! Much appreciated
I never thought I would say this about a gold wing but that is one lovely looking bike and I want one. 👍
It goes even better than it looks! 👍🏼
You and me both! It's still weird to say out loud, but yeah, I want one!
Totally agree. I currently have a Harley electra glide but if I ever buy a new bike, this is what I want.

Also have an 08 200,00 plus miles and no interest in a new one.
Greg Hodak 👍🏼
Top review. 1st bike that suits your size and frame ole man. Motorcycle luxury. The Japanese certainly know how to do this type of vehicle. Does it have the soul of the American iron though?
Thanks Pike. Yes totally get you. You’ll be interested in our Harley/Gold Wing comparison coming up
You mean is it lethargic, unreliable and slow as hell? No. Doesnt have that soul.
Definitely gonna be my next ride. I have the ctx700 dct and I can't say I want ever go back to normal manual shifting but having a dct option changes the game completely. Great video by the way 👏👍🏽
Thanks buddy. It’s certainly a tremendous bike! 👍🏼
Nice review. I have DCT on my Crosstourer, it's an excellent system and very suited to this sort of bike tourer/all rounder.
J Bo thanks! Yes DCT very much so 👍🏼
Thanks for an excellent review. Can you tell me if there is any engine braking from the automatic gearbox please?
Thank you. Yes there is, just like a manual, when the throttle is off it uses all its engine braking
They need to bring back the Valkyrie concept. Put this drivetrain in an old-school cruiser. That was a wild bike. You'd think Honda would notice that old Valkyries are going for more money than they cost new. IF you can find one for sale.
Exactly 👍🏼👍🏼
After watching your videos for years (and enjoying the content each time) it has now occurred to me that I don't know which one of you is Mr. Darcy.
Mr Darcy is the young one and the old one is the Ol Man 👍🏼
A mystery solved!@@MrDarcy-OlMan
I did the same
Good review. Love the look of the bike in that color combo. Wish the touring version came in that color.
Ken Bogan Thank you! Yes this colour combo looks great
Not only the best touring bike but the best motorcycle, period.
Excellent review of an exceptional motorcycle.
Thank you.
Thank you! Yes it’s a very impressive bike!
Great Video Guys, I own the same bike! I use to own a 2014 F6b.
John Bettua Thanks John! What a fab bike! We’ve done a comparison between the Honda and Touring Harleys which will be uploaded in a weeks time
After a history of riding powerful sport bikes (I still own a customized 2008 B-King), as I am getting older I am learning to love cruiser bikes.
Thanks buddy! Yes it’s a really nice bike to ride. It grows on you more as you get used to it too
Very informational , I loved the amazing forks of the bike and your beard.
Thanks! I’m with you there 👍🏼
Great review, nice touch young and senior opinions. Well done guys!
This bike LOOKS GOOD ON YOU!
Thanks buddy. A bike that fits at last!
Bagger has passive suspension btw the rider modes don’t change the damping.
👍🏼👍🏼
Maybe by the time my 09 victory vision blows up these goldwings will be at a place where I like them as much. Getting closer
It’ll go on for ever now!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan you know, Im ok with that.
Thank you very much my friend! It’s a fabulous bike! We have some more touring bikes coming up Thursday and next week!
i have a 2016 F6B and thinking about this one! Good review!
The Gold Wing is a marvellous motorcycle 👍🏼👍🏼
Stunning bike...the goldwing has come along way from the original. Beautfiul
Yes it’s exceptional
Loved the review! Bike looks great! That is the same color and model that I plan to purchase.
Thanks bud and excellent! Fabulous bike!
Good review. Can you review Harley Davidson Low Rider?
We have a review on here with the Low Rider S. look back through our video list 👍🏼
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man
Ok that’s fair enough, keep up the good work in your excellent vlog
Peter Simpson cheers peter! Thanks for watching, plenty more to come!
I’ve just ordered one
Derek Cumbers Excellent! What a bike! It grows on you minute by minute!
I just ordered two!
@@broadsworddannyboy5057 👍🏼👍🏼
Great reviews, I have an 2018 DCT tour , my first DCT and it’s great 👍🏻
Nice 👍 yes very good
I enjoy the relaxed style of your reviews. Thank you !
Thanks very much 👍🏼
Great in-depth review. Best ever. Is that your castle estate? Dang! Nice digs!
Doug Fitch Thanks Doug! No not our place but it would be cool 👍🏼
You'll never go back to the old dinosaur way of Shifting Gears anymore
The thing is, manual is more engaging for the rider. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but watch Gordon Murray talking about the new t 50 supercar. It’s really enlightening and applies to bikes too
great video, looking forward to the harley comparison video.
Thanks Paul! Yes it’s very interesting. Up in a few days; we’ve got a few other bikes to slot in first
Great review as always you guys! This is a lovely bike. The bagger DCT version is kinda hard to find in California and dealers are getting full MRSP or more for them. I will take this over the HD Road Glide bagger I think. thanks for sharing!
Thanks buddy. It’s a very good bike indeed
Another great review guys !!!
@@ADEngineeringUK Thank you 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the review, probably the best one I've seen on this bike. It was in part a major reason why I've just ordered one!
Awesome! Really glad it helped and great decision!
Awesome review. Thanks... Recently ordered my Red / Black 2021 DCT Tourer
DAVE IBBY Thanks 💯 and thats great 👍🏼👍🏼
Would love to see you guys review the new cb1000r. Keep up the awesome reviews 👍
Thanks buddy! Yes I’m sure we will soon 👍🏼
S Defiel Thanks for your continued support and interesting points! It impressed Darcy how rapid it was. Shame about the plastic indeed
@@MrDarcy-OlMan the plastic is disappointing, BUT that speed and to meet budget and low emissions, it's probably the future of bikes. Carbon fibre would have added to the quality and the price.
Jon I think combining form and function is the way to go for upmarket bikes like Harley Davidson do
I've watched this video numerous times, I'm am pleased to tell that I am currently in talks with my local dealer here to get this same exact model of goldwing. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽hopefully I can report back Wednesday or Thursday if the deal goes through. 🙏🏼
Excellent! It’s a truly remarkable bike! 👍🏼
I wish the 2024 had this color scheme. I love it!
I like the bike without the sofa and coffee table on the rear! One hell of a bike.
Yes it’s a fabulous bike. The engineering is just amazing
I have a 2015 GW and the range of the new one is just as good as my older model.
That’s good! 👍🏼👍🏼
Legendary engine. Million mile capable before needing a rebuild
Incredible yes 👍🏼
Well can a half helmet fit in the saddle bags? Good review by the way...
I guess some could. I’ll try my open face later an see
yes, half helmet will fit in saddlebags.
John Bettua thank you
Thank you for another great motorcycle review. Much appreciated.
Thanks Rob 💯
Love the vintage background.
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for the great video and amazing review. I am looking at this bike, I wonder how much better in comfort is it in comparison to your Harley?
Luiz Carlos Laba No problem Luiz! It is a more comfortable ride for sure. The Harley is more involving and wild, whereas the Gold Wing is more refined and better behaved if that makes sense.
Awsome styling ... great review ..😊
Thanks buddy 👍🏼💯
Great review. I may have missed it in the video, but can you add a pillion back rest and rack for two up touring?
Hi and thanks! Yes you can!
Really great review, looks as comfortable as a car with all the creature comforts 👍
Jo Jo thanks my friend! Very good description 👍🏼👍🏼
Cracking review guys, loved the chat on modes, test riding one next month!
Awesome 😊
I own a Harley Davidson, my riding group (brother, 3 cousins and myself) consists of my Fat Boy, my brothers Honda Valkyrie, my three cousins with a Honda Gold Wing, Triumph America, and an Indian Challenger. We're quite well rounded, like the UN !
But every time we stop, everyone oohs and ahhs over the Gold Wing.
Oh well !
Really! It’s a great bike but no looker
