You have the most helpful and informative vids on UA-cam for bagging a c10 👍
Thanks a lot!
As a newbie trying to figure out what to do with my 66 C10, I really appreciate the effort on this.
No problem thanks for watching
This guy is the real deal very thorough with explanation and modest honest and straight forward thanks for the vid
Wow thanks for the encouragement and compliments. I appreciate that. Thanks for watching my videos!
I just picked up a 1968 C10 long bed that I want to slam. This video is a good start to figure out the process. I stumbled across your videos and I'm glad for that. I've never welded but love working on vehicles. I'm basically a backyard mechanic. Nothing special......
That’s where I was four years ago. You can do it.
Like the way you break it down, Really helps, GODBLESS..
You’re welcome!
We don't see many of these over here in Australia. Love the C10's. They're such a work of amazing craftsmanship. I'd love to own one oneday, bagged ofcourse
Thanks
Never commented on a video before but this really helped me start putting things together and where to look! Thank you so much for taking the time to help us out! Beautiful trucks bro!
Awesome. Thanks for the comment!
I always knew that you had too much talent to work in detail!!! Even as that young adult you had my support and of course you still do today! Your work is beautiful! It appears that you still aim to please and strive for perfection & i think you are a natural in front of the camera! I hope that you find much success out of this channel and that it continues to bring you lots of happiness. I'm proud of you and I can't wait to see what you do next! I'm a huge fan of Bleu- (excuse my language) but he is badass! Congrats to you and great work! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you.
Hey no sweat! I'm happy to see you living your best life. Excited to see what comes next! ☺️
By far, this is the most informative video on budget bagging and I'm all for it!! Awesome video!!
Thanks alot!
thank you very much- working on a 66 panel and did not know about cupping the lower control arm
Thank you very much!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! A TOTALLY AWESOME VIDEO!!! I LOVE ALL BUDGET BUILDS!!! A MUST-WATCH.
Thanks
Clarity at its best !!! Thank you sir 🤙🏽
Thanks!
Great video! I’m on my second bagged c series. 69 c30. This one was a little different. I z’d the frame and cupped the lowers. It is low!! 3 link rear with a triangulated upper link.
Sounds awesome thank you
I have a 66 fleetside I’m doing and I like the way you did your bed I’m thinking of going that way with Adding tool boxes
Awesome
Thank you for the information, i have a 63 c10 hopeing to put some bags on it soon.
Awesome. Let me know if I can help.
Amazing truck carnal and great advice thanks for sharing
Thank you
Loving the channel. Can’t wait to see you do a how to on a raised bed floor.
That video won’t be too far down the line if the rear goes smoothly.
X2
Bro, you have inspired me to DIY. I appreciate your sharing
Awesome!
Awesome Trucks! I have a 72 in decent condition. Working on getting it roadworthy hopefully soon. Great Video Thx I subbed
Thank you!
You have some great videos. I'm bombing through all of them since coming across your channel yesterday. Great job! Your channel is going to get a lot of traffic.
Thanks for the support
Good video brother truck looks good. Enjoy it man. Thanks for the help.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it!
Awesome great video it will help me out with my project I'm building !
Great!
Excellent Thanks again for the help all the time
Thanks!
Fantastic work on truck and channel. 👍
Thanks
Loving the channel so far. I was working on my channel since I have a 62 C10 Long bed. There is a lot more involved with that project since the rear end is a different set up then the 63 and up. Just other things in life I have to work on so the truck is sitting for now. I do enjoy your channel so far. Very clear instructions and was not boring like the dry eyes commercial back in the day haha. Well good luck and I have subscribed.
Haha. I appreciate it! I try to just be simple and informative. I’m not really here to entertain anyone lol.
Great work brother
Thank you
Keep it up brother so detailed in everything!!!
I appreciate it!
Man I can't tell you how much I love all your videos. They have taught me so much. Just shortened the frame of my long bed to a shorty. Getting ready to install large notches and cup control arms. Already have 2.5" drop spindles and power disk brake kit for the front waiting to install. Coming along little by little. Really want to bodywork it and try a patina paint like Nick Hester does but I have access to a nice booth and could easily do nice glossy paint too. Not sure on that one.
One question: Do I need plates on the rear to mount my rear bags? I'm using factory trailing arms and plan to mount in the factory spring location. I also haven't ordered my bags yet. Is there a place you recommend getting those from? I already have a 3P air system and your simple bridge and watts link. Just need to get actual bags and rear blocks. All the little stuff.
You mount the bags directly to the frame using my simple rear bag template. You don’t need brackets or anything. I can get you the bags and blocks. Shoot me a message on Instagram or send an email thesimplec10@gmail.com
Gret video and very informative. I look forward to learning more and trying some of this myself. Great Job!
Thanks!
Great info , great video. 👍🏼
Thanks
You rock Brother!! Thank you for this!
You’re welcome
Do you have any videos or know of someone that does on how to bag a 56 chevy truck with a camaro front end? Thank you for all the videos you put out, they are a huge help.
I’ve seen some IFS videos floating around but don’t know a specific person.
What an absolutely killer video! I really appreciate you taking your time to explain how to do this. I can see this channel blowing up. You for sure got a subscriber out of me, and for sure smashing that like button. Quick question, 1/4 or 3/8 air lines? And can you recommend an air management system that you can air out both the front and back at the same time , and rate of decent? Thanks again 🙏
Thank you so much! 3/8 line and airlift 3p management. The remote is great and it’s such an easy plug and play system without a bunch of wiring and fittings. I’ll have a install video soon!
Let’s see it ride!
Wish I still had it!
Great information thank you. So what about a gmc with leaf springs in the rear so what’s the best route for air bags in the rear
Four link on the back with leaf springs. Thank you!
Great video very informative and to the point thank you 👍
Thanks!
Great Video!
Thanks!
This guy has some badass names for his trucks 😭
Haha. Thanks
Awesome videos man love the info.
Thank you so much. Lots more to come in the future.
Top Notch man!!!! Thanks
Thanks!
very informative video. Subscribed!
Thanks
I’ve just been wanting to know how to do stock height to 5” drop rear and 3” drop in the front
2.5 drop Spindles and a inch spring in the front, 2 inch blocks and a 3 inch drop spring in the back. You will probably want to mini notch the back.
@@SIMPLE.C10 I see that you have a recommendation of 2.5” drop spindle and “an inch” spring for the front? To get this drop. Is that correct? Thanks. Great work. I have a 64 step side that I hope to get working on
@@theresa0314 that’s to get a 3/5 drop that he was asking about. My green truck had air bags.
Awesome, Thankyou for sharing 👍
Anytime
I like how you built your C10 , and I respect your humbleness, do you have a site were I could consult you on building a C10 project? Thanks, very much interested
Thanks! You can email me thesimplec10@gmail.com
Good info great video .
I really appreciate it!
Hi from El paso Tx ran into your video thanks for the tips my question is is it the same for a 64 gmc 3/4 ton truck
3/4 ton can have a few things different like lower control arms and the wheel lug
Awesome video does this apply to 1974 square body ? ?
The front does but the back on a square has leaf springs.
Hell yeah Travis !!! Quick question , are those associated Links? If not, make them bud to order through them and help out your channel as well as all tools and supplies used on the build through an Amazon store front…. I know you are doing it to help us out but I will like to give back to your channel and am sure all the other subscribers feel the same way….. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🔥🔥🔥👊🏻👊🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks buddy! Your encouragement is all the support I need man! Most of the companies I mention are working their tail off to provide us with the parts we need to build trucks so I want to support them anyway I can.
Appreciate the mention of our Crown Blocks, great video!
Crown offers some great products!
Hey brotha, thanks for the insight. I have a 93 S10 and I am looking to do a budget build. Nothing crazy. Total around 25K. Gotta free engine... I want to bag it but I don't have any welding exp. Maybe I can do the Harbor Freight thing too. Never done anything like this before. Formulating a plan now. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again for the insight and video.
If you plan to install a notch, get a gas welder and practice a lot before hand. My first three builds I used bolt in notches. I’m not sure what options s10s have but they probably have something similar. Do your front first because it’s easier then the back.
Thanks for the informative video!! I just picked up a 62 Fleetside. As you know it has torsion bars in the front. I think porter built makes a kit for these trucks. do you know of any others and or have any suggestions on bagging a 62?
Velaworks has a torsion delete kit that allows you to bag the front and they have a universal notch for the back.
@@SIMPLE.C10 Thank you, haven't looked at them.
Can you run bigger than 22
You can but not sure I’d recommend it for driveability
Definitely a cool video with a lot of good information I have a 61 Chevy panel wagon Helms Bakery trucks type of C10 I was wondering if it would take the same components to do that and if there are going to be any major differences if you could answer that I would appreciate it I'm getting ready to slam that thing soon I also have a 37 Master Deluxe I want a bag also do you have any tips for that I'd appreciate it thank you again for any information and help that you can give me that is a great video I'm sure your website and channel will go far
The 61 panels have a different frame so it will take different components. If you can send me some pics to my Instagram I can try to help.
Really good video. I don’t know if iv just missed it but how do you bolt up the top of the front air bag ?
Thanks
@@sonnyava887 FRANCIS EP.4 | Velaworks Front DIY Slam Kit | Installing control arm pockets, upper plates and bags.
ua-cam.com/video/jcX9nb9eUXA/v-deo.html
whats your view on a whole new irs setup on the front? especially with a torsion bar front end from the 60-62 trucks
If it’s in your budget. Velaworks sells a torsion bar delete kit.
Hey. Perfect video and info for my "65 c10. I would love to go with 22 wheels. Having trouble finding the tires with the white walls. Any help? Thanks so much and keep it up!
Those arent white walls. The lip of the rim is painted white.
Awesome channel. When cupping the lower control arms, do you also need to cut inner fenders at the same time?
If you cup your lowers and have 2.5 drop spindles, your tires will likely run on the inner fender depending on your wheel and tire size. If you plan to lay it out like I have, I would encourage you to cut the inners or get some after market inner fenders.
Do i still need to drop the pocket in the Lower control arm if im running stock 15" wheels ? , . . . . Thx for all this killer info
A 15 with a fat fire will be the same to lay out at a 22. I’m at about 28.5 inch around. I would cup my lower no matter the size of the wheel so I could always upgrade the wheel size and it would lay out.
@@SIMPLE.C10 ahhh makes sense , thanks again !!! , really appreciate the fast response ! , . . . . . do you have any idea on the smallest notch i could run in the rear ? ( same 15's )
Most step notches are 9 inches. I would go with that.
Great info!!! I have a 1956 gmc 100 step side I bought and it’s pretty rough but I love the year and the patina any idea if those parts are available for my truck? I love your c10 man! I am determined to bag mine that looks so good. Maybe Detroit Steel wheels?
For that year model you’ll need a front cross member. Porterbuilt has one. If you have it in the budget, just get a front and rear kit and be set.
Great content! So they sell cupped control arms?
They sell the cups you weld into the control arm. If you cant weld, the other option is to buy the cpp lower control arms and cut the bumpstops off or purchase porterbuilt or strong arms but they will run about $700 for just lowers.
I have a 65 C10 I just bought, the guy I bought it from said it was ready to be bagged just had to install the bags but after watching some of your videos I think there is a lot to still do, do you have a sight where I could send you pictures of what I have and you could point in right direction? I understand if you can’t you probably have a big fan base with a lot of questions
Go to www.simplec10.co and click air ride guide. It’s a step by step guide with links and all the parts and videos.
They did work to it already just not sure what I need to get er done
Thanks for sharing. You mentioned running 22 inch wheels. What width rims? What tire size?
I’m currently running transport 22s. They are 22x9 and the tires are 255/30/22
The basic C-10 (1 bbl carb, 3 speed, 250) can burn rubber! My daily driver truck can do that!
Yessir!
If I have a c notch welded in now, could I go with the bolt on monster notch after cutting the old small notch out? I wasn’t sure if things would line up
That shouldn’t be a problem. If you can weld, save some time and money and just cut the old notch out and weld in a new one.
Why do you need to shorten the drive shaft. Im in the process if bagging mine the same way you did. Its not runnibg yet but I've lifted it and dropped it and havent noticed any problems. Thx
If you were able to get the driveshaft in, then You’re good. Usually when using the drop blocks and setup I use then your driveshaft won’t fit.
@@SIMPLE.C10
Turns out I need to shorten my drive shaft. Looked be going into far. And it started to leak... I should be listening instead of talking.. thx
Great video!! Question I got is how did you mount air fitting for the rear bag since you took the top cup off? Notch the frame ?
Great question! Whenever I bag the rear of my current truck I will talk through that process! But yes you’re right. I made a template by tracing the top of the bag with the fitting hole and the two mounting bolt holes, marked the frame, then used a step bit to drill them out to size. I installed the bag first, then I screwed the air line fitting in afterward. As long as you drill the holes in the right places it’s super easy.
What fittings are used coming from air tank to control valves??
I typically use a 1/2 npt to 3/8 push fitting and run air line to a water trap then to the air management.
Did you run spacers on the rear of that truck to run the transports?
Yes. 1 inch. The link is in the description. Your other option is to have the wheels bored out a little bigger.
@@SIMPLE.C10 I will buy a set of 1" spacers for mine then. Thank you
Wish I could talk to ya bout a complete parts list for my 66 swb
All you need to do is go to my website. It had a step by step guide and parts list for everything you need. Http://simplec10.co
@@SIMPLE.C10 your are the man!!! Thanks so much
@@SIMPLE.C10 what blocks would I use for 20’s
@@truckermafia3834 3 inch blocks
I think I'm going to run 20" wheels. I ordered from airslamit company and received 4" rear block. Do I just cut off a little on the block? Will I still need to cut out the inner front fenders? It's a 67
@@jerryswafford6391 you will need to cut an inch off the block and cut some of the fender depending on if you cupped your lowers. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Instagram is the best way. I also sell all the parts you may need down the road. www.simplec10.co
Does crown suspension still make the 4in lowering block?
They do but when it’s out of stock it is removed from the website. Velaworks has a four inch block on their diy rear slam kit. I’ll have a discount code in the next week or so and a install video.
You’re the man! Thanks for doing this for us out here!
No problem
I see what your saying about the rear block with 22’s, but what about the stock 15x7’s? How big of a block do you think I could get away with and still get it low
I have a 2 inch block on 15s and it is really close to scrub issues but should be fine.
Will all this work for 68 long bed with the carrier Bearing
Yes it will. Www.simplec10.co
Hey my name is Daniel Lichtenberg I’m 17 years old and am planning a restoration for my 1976 Scottsdale c10 step side and was wondering if you have any good suggestions on execution of it , planning, staging the build for most efficient time etc. I do school as well as work so I’m in with all the guys doing budget builds and don’t have a ton of spare time. Any info would help Thanks
What has worked best for me is to bag the front first. Then remove the bed and bag the back. Doing it in sections helps from having so many parts laying around and also builds confidence as you build. Take the wheels off and get your springs out. Bolt in your bag brackets and bags then reassemble. Take the bed off, get your notch in, then mount the bags. It really all depends on your plans for the truck.
Hello, I hope you have a good day.
It works for c10 67_
-72?
Yes!
Can I do this to my 1961 lower arms
On a 61 you will need the torsion bar delete kit. Velaworks offers that as well.
@@SIMPLE.C10 you are the man. Thanks brother
What rims are those and where do you get them as well as the center caps?
Watch my transport wheel video.
I'm doing a 1975 Chevy G10 van a shorty. Can I do the same
The front is the same but not the back
👍🤘👏
Thanks
Will these parts u listed work with c20 1965?
Most of these parts should work considering the c20 is just a long bed and not 8 lug.
Is it cheaper to buy air ride kit or piece by piece Brian from Oklahoma
A kit. If you try to piece everything out you’ll pay 1.5x
Chevy C10 like a Vespa GS mk1, already looks good while still in factory.... If you compare with Ford model A pickup, it ugly from factory until people chop, make it low and turn into hotrod....yeah people change their chop their buttom frame to slammed it to ground cause it look really good....
Thanks for watching
Already went 5 lug. Plan to stay with 15" or go 17" wheels. do you still recommend front cups? And just run without blocks on the rear? Plan on a notch. Want to get as low as possible. Thanks
On 15s or 17s you can run a 1 inch block. I would suggest cupping your lowers in case you ever wanted to go with a bigger wheel you could just add a bigger block in the back and still be super low.
Are you still running front inner fenders? Really don't want to move my hinges, per budget
You don’t have to move the hinges if you don’t want. You will just have to prop the hood open since you have to get rid of the springs to cut the inner fenders. I have pics if you want them. DM me on Instagram simple.c10s
@@SIMPLE.C10 thanks for the quick reply. Enjoying your channel!
Can you give dimensions for the U bolts and the block for the 4” block on the rear?
I don’t have them but Velaworks does. Check them out at Velaworks.bigcartel.com
@@SIMPLE.C10 alright thank you sir. Love the videos
The link to the block set just goes to the main site. if I go under 60s lowering there’s a 1inch block only.where did you find the 4inch?
Thank you for pointing that out! I actually did that on purpose because the way crown suspension does their website. When an item is out of stock they remove it from their website until it’s stocked again. If you don’t currently see it, then that means he’s getting it stocked back up. I didn’t want to put the exact page and then it be an error page. Feel free to click the contact button an email him directly to order any out of stock item.
@@SIMPLE.C10 oh thanks for the heads up
Crown said they would be restocked in a few days. Waiting on powder coat.
@@SIMPLE.C10 thanks for the heads up
What’s the wheel offset on the 22” rims? Any running issue when turning?
No issues at ride height. At my low setting i can’t fully turn but that’s not because of my wheel offset it’s just because of the setup. Transport wheels come with a 6 inch backspacing.
@@SIMPLE.C10 how many inches off the ground do you set your ride height? Inches from frame to ground?
So I have a 65 c20 that I have tore down to just a roller...it's all stock..I want to bag it...what is my next step? So much to do. I need guidance. Thanks
Go to simplec10.co and click the air ride guide. It gives you all the steps in order.
Will these kits work on a 66 c30?
I’m not positive. Sorry. I’ve never had a c30 to see the frame.
What size tires are you using?
255/30/22
Would this same process, work for a 1962 C10 stepside?
No. The frame is different. The front will need a torsion bar kit that Velaworks offers and the rear needs a custom notch.
Thank you for the info, and love this channel!!! Just subscribed
Thanks
What part of the country are you located? Do you work on other people’s C10’s? Thank you.
I’m in Tennessee. I don’t currently do work for other but my friend Zach from RS Restorations does.
@@SIMPLE.C10 Great - I have reached out to him. Thank you!!
So if I run 2Os I will have issues?
If you run 20s you’ll need to cut down the rest block an inch.
