Thanks Sophie! During my Breast Cancer diag. The cancer had also metastasized to my underarm lymph nodes, so they were all removed. I do daily lymphatic massage to help manually move out my lymphatic fluid & go to Physical therapy every three weeks to control the lymphedema. This is so exciting to help me. Can’t wait to add to my daily routine. I appreciate your research and knowledge so much! Luv, Maureen J
I am so sorry to hear about your breast cancer diagnosis, but I am so inspired by your commitment to carrying for your lymphatic system. Sending up some prayers for you, and I'll think of you tomorrow as I dry brush!
Watched your video and someone else this morning and both of you had slightly different technique and number of strokes to brush. She specifically talked about the gut and how there's a special technique for it if you only have a few minutes. She made a very good point. If you're not doing it correctly. It's best not to do it at all. Who do I believe?
You are such an absolute pleasure! Thank you so much for this very informative video. I’m new to this, as I am doing a lymphatic cleanse with my holistic doctor and am very excited about it. You look so great and beautiful! Thank you for the tips about the oils and the special nodes areas to pay special attention to.
Thank you, Sophie. Great video. I am surprised though that there was no mention of drinking a good bit of water after dry brushing since this helps to flush out the toxins. I know I intuitively dry brushed in 2016. I was feeling so very badly battling cancer that year, it was a form of relief for me at the time, but I didn't know the proper way nor did I know of its health benefits until today other than it improves the circulation. In fact, I didn't even know there was such a thing called dry brushing until reading about it today. That's when I took to UA-cam and found you. Count me in as a new subscriber. Your skin is so beautiful, I hope to learn more of your routines. Thank you, Sophie.
Brenda - welcome to my channel, and I am so happy you are here. Be sure to subscribe and click on gray notification bell so you get alerted when a new video comes out. Yo are SO right, we do need to drink a lot of water. And that is a point I should have made. I hope you are in remission and healed. Have a beautiful weekend.
I have that brush you mentioned with the handle. It’s true that the head detaches and hits the wall, floor or other surfaces so violently. Thank you for the tips.
Super video, I too have been Dry Skin Brushing for many years , in fact I give one too family and friends all the time as gifts ! Great informative as usual Sophie! Thank You 🙏💕
My son has mild autistic and has a lot of sensory issues. Brushing has always helped to calm him down and relax. If I didn’t do it he would literally be banging himself against the furniture and walls (when he was little). Now it mainly helps him to get a better night of sleep 😴
Great video! I've been dry brushing for years. I will say I did get a bit confused after watching Dr. Drays channel here on UA-cam and her video on dry brushing. She basically said there is no evidence to any of the claims regarding dry brushing and that we basically shouldn't be disrupting the skin barrier. Have your seen this video? Hope you had a nice holiday! Much love❤
Holly, send me a link at info@gorgeouslygreen.com - I'd love to see what she says. I have to admit, however, I love dry skin brushing. The brush I use is so gentle, it doesn't feel like it's disrupting the skin barrier, and I need a little help with cell turnover.
@@SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen Sophie I love it as well, that's why I became a bit confused. Type in" Dr.Dray Dry Brushing" in the search here on UA-cam. It should be the first video at the top. If you can't find it that way I'll be more than happy to email you the link. :)
@@HollyL56 Here's the thing with Dry Skin Brushing - there may not be a meta analysis of scientific evidence proving the benefits of dry skin brushing (this is usually what I look for), however, if you read the comments (and many others that I've received), the empirical evidence is astounding in terms of relieving swelling, edema, etc. This tells me that it does indeed help stimulate the lymphatic system. In terms of disrupting the skin's barrier: I agree that you cannot be too harsh. This is why I am against crazy salt scrubbing. And this is why I chose a very soft natural bristle brush. Many of the brushes are way too hard, this one is not. Finally, read the comment by Stephani the massage therapist in the comment thread. She makes a very good point. Happy Brushing!
I've seen crazy in depth techniques for dry brushing, from the previous video actually. I always thought it was just like your technique. Confused a bit, or maybe just over thinking it. I have been using rose hip seed oil. Although I have noticed its causing milia under my eyes, I'm bummed because its supposed to be great for dark circles.
I buy sesame oil for my body in the oil section of the grocery store. It’s organic cold pressed. As long as it doesn’t say toasted sesame oil, it won’t smell.
Couple of weeks have already passed ever since i tried out applying this cellulite technique of *CelluliteFact. Com* I did not expect to obtain great outcomes from *CelluliteFact. Com* yet I ended trying to it anyway. I was impressed by what I only found out. This did wonders than I’d ever hoped or predicted. Attempting this item is undoubtedly useful.. .
Very informative and enthusiastic talk about skin brushing - it sounds attractive and reminded me that I once did it and then forgot again. And for me it would be helpfull with a video in Real time just doing it - and not talking - maybe just play some nice relaxing and beautifull Music
As a massage therapist, I frequently see people who need exfoliation so profoundly. We are putting so much commercial moisturizer on our bodies and even washing our bodies with products that are supposed to moisturize but the dead skin cells are not being removed. The skin is not able to breathe. A good spa does not do a body treatment without dry brushing. I recommend dry brushing 2 people all the time. So important to not walk around with unexploited skin.
I bought this dry brush and it AMAZING!! Soft when you need it and intense if you apply pressure! Game changer!! I'm also using plant based stem cell body wash and lotion after shower - I got to sleep feeling sparkling clean and wake up so refreshed!!!! Sophie!!! Please do a review for the bed (roomba style) electric sanitizer! It's a mattress sanitizer and I think it might be great. And your blogs are gold!!
Thanks for letting me know about Akamai products, I just retired from working in Health food store in Skin care and Supplements and their skin care products look Great. I know when I run out of the skin care product I still have I will be getting some of theirs. And Thank you for the great tips on Dry Brushing, I won't be getting Akamai brush because I don't use any animal products at all, but your video was Great.
Hi Sophie, I really appreciate your channel. I’m a recently retired art teacher. I am almost 68, active, and first noticed the uncontrollable weight gain phenomenon around age 60. I have been in the WHPB lifestyle for over a year, and just began incorporating IF this year. Yet it’s very hard to lose the belly fat. It’s scary! There are things I need to clean up in my routine-like bedtime snacking-and your videos are helping my determination level! I am 5’1” and weigh about 116. NOT lean!! Most of the weight is in belly, waist and thighs. I walk and bike about 3-4 times a week. I want to stay strong for my family so I am super motivated. Here is a question about edema. I have a bit of swelling right below my knees on the front/inside of my legs. I thought it might be lymphatic but in your dry brushing video you don’t mention that area-instead it’s the back of the knees according to your information. The swelling is less when I weigh less and increases if I gain. But it doesn’t “feel” like fat. Is this uncommon? Will dry brushing help? It’s not horrible but it does make me want to stay with midi skirts lol. Thanks for your work. It is encouraging! I am looking at your late September 31- day lifestyle plan to see if I can manage it right now. I’m interested!
Great tips! Random question: where did you get your comforter? Is it a duvet in a cover, or is it a standard comforter? Our duvet is lovely, but it shifts so much and gets lumpy in some parts. I’ve even sewed in ties around the inside, but it still shifts. Yours looks perfect!
It looks perfect, Sammie because it's on my guest bed :) doesn't get a lot of use. But I got that comforter from an eco manufacturer - I'll look up the label next time I take off the duvet!
Thank you, Sophie! I really appreciate you responding! If you remember to get the name on the tag, that would be great! P.S. I’m new to your channel, and I’m so glad I found you! You have so many amazing tips! I love your holistic lifestyle. I always try to live as naturally as possible, so I definitely appreciate learning from fellow hippies :)
You are so beautiful ! Thanks so much for your video tutorials. Where do you buy your clothing ? You always look so stylish in a casual way . Hopefully you don't shop rodeo drive because that's way out of my budget range :-)
Sherri, that is SO sweet. Honestly, the Anthropologie sales rack is my BFF - I'm always looking for deeply discounted tops there! In this video, I'm wearing ALO.
You are so long winded... it takes you forever to get to the point.... annoying You are not giving a seminar it is a YT video. Obviously, this is your style... not for me.
Been doing it about two months and I love it I already have extra soft skin so the dry brushing makes it even better and gives me a extra glow
I have been using dry brushing for some time because I have inflammation. I have learned some new ideas. Thank u

Love the video, thank you. I am 45 years and seem to have dry skin. I was wondering how often I should exfoliate my face? Thank you ❤

I don't agree. I think you can just gently do it without a specialized technique and it's not going to harm you.

I need to stop been lazy and do it everyday, I know it’s good for your skin!❤️
I know, it's hard to stay on top of it!
Just purchased the brush. Thank you for this video! :)
Hello, do you do dry skin brush every day or every other day? Do the oils not clog the pores? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Oh my gosh Patricia dry skin brushes make the best gifts right!! I gave them away this year and they were a total hit!
My son has mild autistic and has a lot of sensory issues. Brushing has always helped to calm him down and relax. If I didn’t do it he would literally be banging himself against the furniture and walls (when he was little). Now it mainly helps him to get a better night of sleep 😴

Is it good to use if v hav vericose vein issues

Thanks for your lovely comment. I can't comment further on Edema as I'm not a doctor. I would try the skin brushing. It can't harm.
So informative. Really appreciative of this post 💛
This is so great! Thank you for sharing. Do I have to add any cream?
When brushing just dry brush bristles, but AFTER showering feel free to add a moisturizer ;)
Thank you so much about the rose hip and sesame oil recommendations😍😍😍!! I thought coconut oil only
Oh there are SO many options! I hope you give them a try!
I recommend a face brush for the facial dry brush-
I've been skin brushing a few years now, Thank you for explaining it and showing the right way. I'm not consistent enough.
Kathy, I think the commitment is a great start, but it does take some practice to develop the habit! I'm so glad you found this useful!
Great video! I have been dry brushing for years. it's difficult to find a good brush.
Oh I SO hope you try Akamai, they are seriously amazing. I'm obsessed.
well explain I learn a lot , thank you.
Thanks Rosita!
Could you please link some of those body cream etc videos you talk about? You have so many it's hard to find them. Thank you
There are links in the description, Amanda. I love the sesame oil right now.
Why are long strokes bad??

I need to do this. I keep meaning to but it gets pushed out of my mind.
I know, it can work it's way to the back of the to-do list pretty easily!
Thank you for this video. I have skin rashes all over my body can I do coz someone told me my body is releasing toxins
Be gentle if you have rashes. It could be hormones or toxins.
Can you use wet brush in the bathtub or shower and get a similar effect?
Better not to get the natural bristles of the dry skin brush wet. ;) For this technique, keep the brush dry ;)
Just got my brush today, cant wait to use it!
You look amazing! What is your secret? 😊
Looks like a nice brush, however, it’s boar bristles, so not vegan. Can you recommend a brush that is vegan?
I would like a vegan recommendation also.
I don't know if you're serious or you're joking! Because vegans ask for the craziest shit 😂
This one might work, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013QK7C38/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm reaching out to the manufacturer to see if they're using a synthetic! Stand by!
On their website, for the brush you linked, it states "Made with natural boar bristles & sustainable bamboo"
