Beautiful property!! I imagine they have privacy shades, but the light is amazing. I wonder if the windows help with the cooling? Great find in a beautiful area of NY!
This apartment might be the first "deal" this non-New Yorker sees as an actual deal. Granted, it's pricier than anything that size you'd find in the Philly burbs where I'm at, it's a heck of a lot nicer! It has a better layout, better views, & better access to amenities than all of the 700K 1000sqft homes that haven't been updated since the 70s that are around me. I'd likely convert it to a 2 bed or at the very least, section off that corner with some tall bookshelves & ceiling hung panels to create a lovely in-home office/creative space. But also, could you imagine being a little one growing up with those views as the backdrop to your life!? It would be truly amazing.
@@yangyangnezin208 thanks for checking that - wow - those extra fees add up to a lot monthly, then there would be paying for utilities on a place this size, can imagine a pricey monthly bill for that too.

Yes, Cash, you should definitely buy this apartment, convert the 2nd bedroom for the girls, and by the time you and your wife retire, it will have doubled in value and you two can afford to retire to the lifestyle you would like to become accustom to!🤩
Just a heads-up, I lived in a place like this in a cheaper city and having ceilings this tall has ruined every place I've lived afterwards haha. I live in a nice bungalow now but it feels like a damn cave, even with a lot of light. Tall ceilings are one of the top priorities in my next place.

I live in NY. How can you say that we can't afford a spot for 300k? We have a HOUSE in Brooklyn that's assessed at over 800k. We've had offers from 1.2 million I just really feel that a lot of people talk about New York and they don't really live here. A lot of the talkers don't really know.
Pretend NY is a different country, and they use a different currency, nothing directly convents to other parts of the USA. Also don’t forget most couples can skip owning 2 cars, which saves $2,000 a month.
I like that place a lot, although I could never afford it. I don't know if I would build a wall but I would put a divider in the space and create an office/library area. I prefer older places with charm and older fixtures and trim, but for a modern place it's great because it isn't on the 65th floor or some other god forsaken floor that makes me queasy standing at the windows. I love that it's at a "human" level.
It’s expensive, sure, but it’s for rich people so money isn’t a problem. I like this luxury apartment because it’s not too high (only on the 3rd floor), it’s bright, comes with laundry and a nice kitchen, and it looks livable despite the modern design. Nothing about this place seems cold or sterile and the right furniture and accent colors can keep it that way.
I guess the windows also will keep out some heat? I don't like the sharp corners in the first bath (on the vanity, I think you call it), it's exactly the height of some children's heads. But cosy apt in a bright way.
Inoticed that too. A change of countertop would be a good idea. Rounding those corners or putting on some kind of bumpers? Don't know if either is feasible.
Good neighborhood, high-end building with amenities and a lovely apartment! But I wouldn't "convert" most of my living room just to share the cost. My bank account has six figures - but with a pesky decimal point.
Upper West Side is the BEST SIDE! Beautiful location….price (compared to elsewhere) is pretty good for Manhattan BUT I wonder what the monthly charges are for living in that building. ☹️
Very nice place! But that's alot of money for technically only 1 bedroom. You can buy a whole house in Brooklyn for way less. Then convert the dining room or something to more rooms, as well as the basement etc. You didn't mention the building maintenance monthly fee. Gotta be at least $2k a month forever even after you paid off the loan. Taxes another $1500. So after a $400,000 down payment your monthly payment is $15,200 a month. Can own a triplex in Astoria that generates an income instead of blowing all that money.
