As a purple belt, I used Ben's spin roll to keep control of my coach. I had him in Twister Side Control and he started to frame and push out. I thought about Ben's technique and did it. I was able to gain control and get the kesa gatame from there. He escaped but I know the roll caught him by surprise.
It's easy to laugh and be amused with Ben but we all have a Ben in our gym that is an absolute threat to roll with. And no, not the threat because he will catch you. A threat because he will injure you. I'm kind of shocked he was unleashed upon a brand new guy. Please upload the video of when his spazzing blows out a knee.
@@tylernorman25 yeah, after re-reading it my initial post sounded like I'm hoping he injures someone. I'm sure 99% of people will understand my sentiment and this isn't directed at you either, Tyler. If Mr. Bathsalt's hurts someone I hope that video is uploaded. Because we can't only show the funny parts where everyone luckily didn't get hurt and hide the inevitable incoming injury.
3 bjj sessions (1 gi, 2 no gi). 2 kickboxing sessions (1 sparring, 1 technical session), 3-4 runnings sessions and weights 2-3 times a week. At 43 years old my plate is full.
Let's go, more bathsalts! Recently I've been training 2 times a week, 3 times maximum. I'm on a no gi kick because as a new blue belt I found out I need to really focus on leg locks for naga's no gi rule set for intermediates. Too bad most of the colored belts are Pajama Men ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so I'm thinking once a month I'm gonna start binging a week of unlimited lessons at my local 10th planet I also lift 4 times and run once.
Something about 4 days a week right? After I started upping my weeks to 4x I've seen some dramatic skill growth. I am only a 4 month old white belt but getting in there frequently has paid dividends
I've recently found your channel and have watched a bunch of rolls. Bath Salts Ben is now my favorite BJJ practitioner. I realize now I just haven't been grabbing the head enough. You're commentary is very entertaining, but I don't know how to interpret the tone exactly. I feel like there's about 50 inside jokes that I'm not in on.
I only train once a week, I wish I could do more but there’s only one class in my town and they only teach one two hour class a week. I occasionally spar outside of classes tho
I used to train 4 times a week but dropped to 3 times a while ago which seems to work better for me (not as tired during the week). I haven't trained since December as I started a new job and can't make the 6AM classes.
see'ing white belts splash about like baby seals, reminds me of our tkd class as I worked with white belts as they kept throwing punches and kicks at me as I walked around them wondering what was for dinner when I got home that night.
Two BJJ classes, one striking/self defense class, two weight training sessions per week. I work full time plus a fair amount of OT, this is about as much as I can do consistently without soreness and injuries piling up since I’m 54 and don’t bounce back like I used to
2-3 classes and a private pretty much weekly. Privates are honestly the hardest, LMFAO. Professor likes putting in a couple rounds at the end. I'm under the impression I am being, "toughened up". He holds back on subbing me, but the pressure is 100%... He feels like a truck.
I've been training for 6 months. I tend to train BJJ 5 to 6 times a week. I've slowed down lifting from 6 days to 4 to compensate for this. Definitely becoming addicted to the game.
Hey Tyler i do BJJ 4 times a week. Since you do sparring and weightlifting i would like to ask you something. Im thinking about adding 2 days of weightlifting with some heavybag-work after it to my plan. But that would then be 6 days a week. Do YOU think i should cut 1 bjj session ( because i really dont want to. Bjj is my first grappling experience and i just started some month ago. I am not a 20 Stripes whitebelt like you)?
If your energy is good, 6 days is fine. I’m doing 7 right now and sometimes I’m just too dead for others. If you have to, cut out BJJ. I would say it’s better to just treat BJJ as technique instead of cutting it. BJJ is a really easy sport (in my opinion) compared to sports like boxing or wrestling.
@@TylerSpangler thank you so much for the answer!!! Didnt think of just treating it as technique cause i am kinda competitive , but maybe thats exactly what i need. Please keep up the great work , looking forward for some more rolling commentary salted with some bath salts ben !
I do 3x a week one of them is NoGi. I still feel its not enough. The guys I roll with are way stronger and taller than I am. I dont do anything else btw
3x 1hr sessions a week, normally 1 drilling and 2 rolling. Was training 10hrs a week previously but now got a 5 month old at home so think I'm doing pretty well.
i do 6x classes a week and its still not enough bjj for me! sundays is rest day because of my bad knee but if i could invent a new day for the week i would be training 7x
Ben is such a funny guy to watch. His backwards pants were killing me. 😂 I train 3-4 times a week. 2 GI, at leas 1 no GI. I’d be there 5x a week if I lived by the gym but it’s a 25 minute drive.
Please, stop exploiting this guy. I can appreciate his spirit and energy, but he’s going to hurt someone in the name of continually doing things his own way, which you seem to reinforce. Much respect to the brand new guy in trying to utilize actual technique. Same with the other four-stripe WB that rolled with Ben in another video. Class clowns get old and eventually disrupt the learning space.
Came for the Jits, stayed for Bath Salts Ben...Ugh this is so good.
Giving up positions for worse ones, grabbing head, never ending aggression and spasming faces to die for, classic bath salts. Never change, Ben.
I love how the people in the background stopped, watched and had a big smile at the end.

Love BSB and his rolling techniques

Ben just loves letting everyone else work on there submissions

Thanks to these series i was able to hammer into my head that i shouldnt grab the head when on bottom, so thanks, Ben!
This was the whitebeltiest white belt roll I've ever seen, even with the constant distraction of Ben's pants 🤣
you throw ben at the new guy! savage move
How new is Lupe? Seems to have a few good ideas….
Lupe has been working hard not bad for a few months in.
yea lupe seems like he is in the right path but just doesnt know how to take advantage of good situations.
Tyler, what are your thoughts on combat jiu jitsu ?? are u a fan ??
It’s okay. I prefer MMA, but I like that it forces more action!
Ben deserves all the clowning he gets. I sure hope he’s a decent fella because he is a spaz on the mats.
Still waiting for that tutorial video on the Ben-pass.
I used to train 4 times a week but dropped to 3 times a while ago which seems to work better for me (not as tired during the week). I haven't trained since December as I started a new job and can't make the 6AM classes.
BSB needs his own podcast/ narration
Ben is just not motivated. Give him back the purple, brown, and black opponents... You monster!
7-8 classes per week, 1.5 hours with 30 min of rolling, and a full open mat class
see'ing white belts splash about like baby seals, reminds me of our tkd class as I worked with white belts as they kept throwing punches and kicks at me as I walked around them wondering what was for dinner when I got home that night.

What's the ducks? I am a bit new to the channel. Perhaps I missed the quack explanation somewhere along the way. A quack is a white belt derp?
Mostly reserved for Ben because he does his own thing, but generally just mistakes 😅 I quack myself too
Besides bath salts, what other drugs are good for jiu jitsu? I’m a white belt myself and want to get better

Does anyone do weights to train BJJ?
Me 😀
6-7 times a week. Some hard roll days and some chill roll days.
I enjoy the content man! As for getting after it; my wife and I train 4 days a week. 3x yes-gi 1x no-gi.
Crying @ yes-gi. 😂😂
As a white belt i can see 100 different attacks against Ben... but if i ever rolled against him i think it would be like trying to wrestle a tornado.
I'll usually do 4 jiu jitsu classes, 2-3 kickboxing classes and one open mat.
I've been training for 6 months. I tend to train BJJ 5 to 6 times a week. I've slowed down lifting from 6 days to 4 to compensate for this. Definitely becoming addicted to the game.

2 Japanese Jujutsu classes and 1-2 BJJ classes per week (crossing training BJJ, JJJ being my main). Calisthenics almost daily for health.
6 BJJ classes, 1 Muay Thai & one open mat weekly 🕺🏻
I do 4-6 classes a week. Depending on the week. I work 4 10 hour days and my school has morning classes every morning from 11-1215

Love the white belt rolls!
Lupe has great potential. Made some easily fixable mistakes and appears to have some good instincts
is that 3 stripes on BS Ben belt?

3x 1hr sessions a week, normally 1 drilling and 2 rolling. Was training 10hrs a week previously but now got a 5 month old at home so think I'm doing pretty well.
Go, Ben, go!
I train 5 1hr sessions per week. And 2 days a week I add muay thai classes before/after class
3 times a week, I'm 44 next month and work long hours putting up/taking down scaffolding, it's fair to say I'm usually tired!

I wore my gi pants backwards last week. I only knew because my professor told me😅
BSB is a Legend!!!
White belts are a wild and strong breed
I have a rotating work schedule so I train anywhere from 3 to 8 times a week
IT'S GO TIME BABEEEE!!!! BEN=BROLY!!!
3x for BJJ. Just added in No Gi.
Smart addition 😀😀😀
Train everyday twice no gi and if I can two mma classes a day
Get some Ben. He just wants to work harder for the win. I get it.
3 classes a week of bjj here. 2 years experience
Zero times per week :(
Fun roll to watch though!
Why does been wear his pants on backwards?
haha
Because he is too much of a class clown. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that where I train.
3 a week including sparing trying to manage some injuries as well
Bath Salts all day😂
Ben is such a funny guy to watch. His backwards pants were killing me. 😂

1-3 x week I train BJJ.
3 stripes eh?

Boxing and mma! Well boxing for me, they can kick
4-5x a week w/ an open mat on Saturdays. Usually 2 days Yes-Gi and 2-3 No-Gi. Watching this roll was painful.... and needed more quacks.
I train in a French region and we call it NoGI and OuiGI

Ben is terrible at jj 🤷🏽♂️
Ben has no JJ. They just encourage him to keep doing things his own way so they can exploit him. Not cool, because he will eventually hurt someone.
