Water is heavy. I'm switching out my thermal bottle for a titanium one cause enough weight is attributed to water excluding it's containers already.
At least water gets expunged out on the walk itself..

My campchair I don't mind weight-wise, it's just bulky enough that it gets karabinered to the pack.. Considering just taking a ground mat and a jacket as a seat instead, cause the mat can go under the pack, and if the jacket is light enough I'll use it to keep the sun off my pale-ass skin.

Yeah water weight adds up really quick and is so easy to carry more than is needed. I've been using generic plastic water bottles more often now, even in place of a water bladder just to save a bit more weight and convenience.

Good timing Cam, I'm going through this exercise now myself. As you said, it could become expensive to replace the big ticket items (the Big 3 or Big 4)

    Hey Cam,
Loving your adventures and being able to watch them - so thanks for doing you and taking us along with you in spirit...
Just wondered, what’s your thoughts on hammock opposed to tent?! Haven’t seen you sleep out in one as yet and wondered if you had any plans to give it ago, or reasons why you just prefer the trusty tent.
Ps - stand up paddle boarding, game lol, and educational for sure 🥾⛰👣🌲💫

I’ve tried hammocks a couple times and they are definitely a viable option. For me, a tent setup is more comfortable and much better in bad weather. And I also don’t like the stress that comes with needing 2 perfectly placed and sized trees or not sleeping.

@@CamBostock argh, thanks for that.... my vibe also tells me I’d be stressing too much over finding the two most perfect trees 😬

@@CamBostockI love my hammocks but they don't get out enough. I was told that in WA they really don't like them because of the risk of transporting dieback etc. In genuine remote settings rarely an issue with suitable trees but in established campsites (Queensland's Great Walks ) they have often removed good trees. I've been through a couple of massive storms in the US in my Warbonnet hammock and love it as long as the trees don't shake too badly.
