Just saw your desription. 1985 began the 250cc line, that was also based on the 250SX release the same year. It was a larger atv in 85, new rear suspension, reverse was controlled through the foot lever/handlebars, headlight removed for hand use, larger engine, no more super low range. The 1984 was 200cc but did have shaft drive and reverse that just came out that year. Great machines worthy of restoration.
I have 2 of the same in this vid. They were build in 84 and sold as 85. I know it sounds odd but I looked up the serial number and they are indeed "85" 250se. The decals are also a give away. 84s have a diff decal set.
I have a 1985 Big Red! It gets used for working on the neighbors tree farm. It can't pull heavy loads up hill like my n.v old 4x4 quad, but within its limitations, it does well.
Ahhhh yes, duct tape, the one thing that hold literally anything together and is resistant to literally everything. It’s literally god in the form of a long roll of sticky plastic.
That is great to know. Somebody also pointed that out right away I haven't tried it yet though! The headlight as I always knew did detach. Same thing with my 1986 Honda 350d Foreman. Neat little bit of old school technology!
4 bolts to take trunk out for easy access to battery box, the rear rack and plastic will hinge open in the back if you remove 2 bolts under seat. it even has a prop rod, at least my 86 big red does,
Good machines. I got everything to build a 250 four wheeler. Pretty much same set up except the fact it's more stable lol. I have owned 3 wheelers before, but not the safest option in off roading.
@@WeTryMotorsports take off your seat and they flip up from the front the hinge is two bolts at back of frame. It looked like your locking knobs/bolts are missing.
A friend of mine is giving me one of these. Frozen engine though and is missing tires and a bunch of other parts. But I figured it be a good start to building one.
Theres two tabs on the light that flip up so you can pull the light out and use it ad a flashlight. I have the owners manual for my 85 250es let me know if you need any spexs like valve clearance
I've been driving these machines for over 25 years. I was a bit concerned watching this gentleman riding this trike. I guess we won't need to ask why he's no longer posting videos if his channel goes silent.
@@WeTryMotorsports glad to know you are still alive. I lost 5 very close friends to atc accidents. I usually tell people riding an atc is like riding on the back of a dragon that is constantly trying to kill you. Dangerous, but fun. Stay safe.
Those three three-wheelers are fun
I absolutely love big red they are literally one of the toughest machines on planet Earth You got yourself a Gem she might be rough but Bulletproof

I just bought an 86 today! That little small sticker in the trunk, it says max 5 lbs lol
Wow, that’s about all the faster you’d want to go on an old big red. Not a peaceful ride, hold on tight. Looks like fun.
Iv got a 200es big red.paid 500 fir it 10 years ago. Haven't put a dime into it.luv it

The rear body plastics flip backward on a hinge letting you access the battery box. I grew up on that year and model
The head light also unhooks and has like a 20 foot cord that lets it act as a lamp if needed

Sweet thanks, where's the lock/hinge?
