I feel like Zenkichi’s shadow was one “you’re not me” away from going berserk like the hero’s shadows in P4, they way it calls him out about his weakness of heart and mind.
Considering how shadows correlate with gold eyes, comparing P4 and P5 awakenings is like accepting but restraining the repressed desires versus going berserk together with them. Like Adachi but if you're not a lost cause of a human being.
By far the biggest honor by the team is calling him by his first name, Zenkichi, rather than the formal Hasegawa-san. That means they not only accept him, but embrace him. This is truly the best Persona awakening hands down.
That shadow of Zenkichi calling out to him, I instantly remembered Persona 4, when the Investigation Team was discussing how Shadows and Personas are the same, like two sides of the same coin. That part was badass.
@@Drakon_MinakaHonestly I prefer Jap Sub for the persona 3/4/5 they have my fav Jap voices. Ngl the eng is actually pretty good and this is coming from someone that despises Dub.
If I had to be honest, I prefer the JP audio for Strikers than the English one and this is really weird for me since Persona dubs are usually really good but Zenkichi's Awakening in Japanese just can't be beaten imho. 🤣💘
@@My2Cents.iF7934 It kinda makes sense, since for the cutscenes they need to also ensure the English lines take roughly the same amount of time, leading to some inevitable awkwardness. For other stuff they're more free to make it sound natural.

I'm really sad they dropped the adult persona users as the year's passed, i feel that an adult reaching the same conclusions to awaken a persona hit harder. I'm not saying young people can't struggle, but adults acknowledging the harsh situations that happen to them but mostly those around them due to unfair reasons or sad situations, or maybe I'm speaking nonsense at the end of the day but that's what i think after reaching that age following this series
the english dub definitely has more expression, but this one feels more emotional, like zenkichi is really breaking, despite his voice being really low and is like hes whisperinh

I like how he struggles longer to pull his mask off than any other user in P5, like the fake mask of an adult is fixed so much harder in place.
But at the same time the form of their persona are much more powerful and more durable.

The JP dubs are generally better for the prerendered cutscenes like awakenings imo, since they convey an authenticity not found as much in the EN dub.

All personas use the same VA as their users. In Zenkichi's case his VA did voice work for Kisuke Urahara from Bleach and James from Team Rocket
