Prominent holes in the body and an upgly burst paint job make me not need a vintage guitar. Relic-ing has its limits, same as vintage. Wear is normal, tear is not.
The vintage strat sounds warmer, broader sounding. However, I would choose the CS strat as that one sounds clearer, prominent mids and highs and snappier. More useable in a band setting in my opinion. Furthermore the vintage 64 Strat has an ugly 3 tone sunburst vintage, also the holes doesn’t help for me. The neck seems to have a modern stain on it. So I doubt whether some parts on this guitar did have a refinish. But awesome presentation guys and I enjoyed it!
kind of hard not to feel the sales pitch coming through making conclusions when comparing an L series strat versus a 61 reissue equipped with formvar wire pickups.
I think we did try to give our honest opinion as much as possible. True, it's hard to compare when the pick-ups are different in that way, but we specifically chose this custom shop as it had the most comparable features that we had in store. And like we said, of course a vintage guitar like that is out of reach for a lot of 'normal players, including us! But we still wanted to share the store and share our excitement for the instrument ;) Hope you enjoyed either way!
The new one looks older 🤣
I feel the vintage Fenders in general have more bass
And thank God you didn’t played SRv licks !!🙏
That's been done enough😉

The esthetics of the vintage Strat surely took a hit, but the playability is surely something special when you play it!
CS all night long
Great choice!

Thanks for inspiring me to pick up my Strat Pro2 for a change as I’m always playing my acoustics.
