I used to talk with Moondog on my lunch hours in 1971 in NYC. I am pleased that he is still celebrated and remembered after so many years. He was a truly amazing, talented, and gifted artist, and a great man..
I’d love to see just that especially if directed by Terry Gilliam. Possibly a fantasy combining Moondog with Zatoichi in which no one is hurt. Music is used to diffuse all tensions. I play a very small banjo mandolin and get smiles from most everyone - excepting bluegrass mandolin players. I recommend all people start their day with Moondog’s ‘Rabbit Hop’.
Another great video! the Native American percussion gives me a bit of an exotica vibe, and he does share some similar lifestyle and fashion sense with eden ahbez.
I didn't know that much about Moondog. I'll have to check him out. He was like the Varg Vikernes of 20th century classical lol. I don't agree with his opinions on Christianity but he had an original style. I wonder if he was an influence on dungeon synth. You should do some Lost music on Sun Ra, Harry Partch or Jim Kirkwood next.
Is the album picture (6:20, 7:23 etc) perhaps oriented 90° out? My version of this album has 'MOONDOG' written downwards and his portrait tilted on its nose. Although I see spotify and discogs also have this orientation. hmm, i wonder what moondog would say...
I love Moondog's music. But there's something surprising : many people think the Vikings did wear helmets with horns. But this is absolutly wrong. The origin of this mistake has a name : Richard Wagner. In his operas, Vikings appear wearing helmet with Horns. He was wrong.

Jeff Bridges once showed interest in playing Moondog in a film. I think he would be perfect

You can't fool me. That's Tim the Enchanter!

Well produced video on excellent content with a soothing voice. Subbed.

Um Sixth Avenue . . . sheesh
ASK GLASS AND REICH WHO BORN "THEIR" MUSIC - The only honest answer is... MOONDOG!
Glass said he learned from Moondog when he slept on his couch, than he did when studying at Juliard
Shame about his absolute bigotry
what did he use to believe in?
