Cutaneous myxoid lesions can be tricky. In this video, learn about myxoma and a few mimics. This video is part of a Zoom video lecture I presented jointly to the dermatology and pathology residents at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Geisinger Medical Center on April 10, 2020. Many thanks to Dr. Maryna Slisarenko from Ukraine for typing up the English transcript so that this video has better closed captions/subtitles and for providing the timestamps below! Thank you for this video, as you mention the names of mucinous entities are confusing for beginners, and trying to distinguish between them is tricky without some initial guidance to highlight the salient features of each. I’ve spent a lot of my training time ‘reading the books’, but am fast coming to the conclusion that videos such as yours are the way forward for high yield learning. The content is much more memorable, WSI brings the microscopic features to life, and much more nuance can be communicated. Pathology is a visual specialty, but we are usually limited to one or two low res pictures in a book (and a Google image search!). Thanks again for taking the time to create this great content, I have shared your channel with my colleagues at work.
