Lightlark D&D Campaign! (Ep. 1) The Worst YA Fantasy TTRPG Ever

They've never read Lightlark. I've never DMed a campaign. This is going to be a disaster.
I've meticulously crafted (read: spent an afternoon throwing together) a homebrew TTRPG system with its own set of stats and items from my vague memories of Lightlark and Nightbane. The campaign, set right at the beginning of Nightbane, is a whole new kind of book critique with new characters and a lot of confusing worldbuilding.
This is set to be a limited series with a lot of references to other SBU bad books. Knowing how D&D campaigns go, though, who knows how long it'll go.

@@sbu_englishclub No but seriously, you could unironically make an adventure centered around the hundreds of people that got their own HALs. Either a "what if Teresa didn't interfere", or just in the time between getting them and her just going "nuh-uh, only ME".
They've just seen her turn the world upside down. What if they want to fix it? What if they want to go to their own planet, where they can use their powers without interfering with other humans? What if Teresas solution was to test them and see if they were worthy before deciding if they could have HALs?
What can possibly go wrong?

I think I needed this. Lightlark took a piece of my soul when I read it, I think this is giving it back

I am stunned. I lack words to describe this, other than that I need more of it. And I know that it's some light hearted fun poiking of the premise going on, but I can't say that this is entirely outside of the realm of the canon (except surfer dude Oro maybe, but I seriously think that it's an improvement if we want to make it beliveable that he doesn't look old).
Also, if I don't misremember, it said that this was the first time Andew is DM:ing? As a person who has both DM:ed and played various TTRPG:s, I am honestly thoroughly impressed.

1:05:26 I love the idea of just, this immortal ancient golden king praising the girl (he's dating) who broke the curses AND some random surfer dude in the same breath. Plus the reaction of the surfer dude letting out his longest yeah boy ever.

Yep! The original, an ARC I found in a goodwill, the bookish box special edition, and a copy I bought just bc it came with the character insets. When the collector’s edition comes out it’ll be 5 oop

Oh man it is all yours but I wasn’t kidding about only taking an afternoon to think about it. Might need some tweaking
There were 12 modifier points that the players distribute across the 4 stats as they see fit (each +3, one +12, etc). Not really a robust system

Also! I feel like Lightlark might lend a but better to Pathfinder 1. ... Mostly because of the insanity you can start with in that.
