Great timing for this video! Match play tends to lead to some tense situations between players. We've been having a great time having demons and guard fighting on a tomb world! 🤣
Amazing introduction! I too think it's important to have a binder (if you like manual) or an Excel/Google sheets (if you're more digital) to track your progression. Do you know if it would be possible to have allies? I am playing GSC and am wondering if I could bring some Lictors to terrorize my enemies.
As cool as that would be, I don't think this is possible with the current 10th edition rules as written, the only allied unit GSC can take is Astra Militarum (brood brothers). You could always homebrew some rules to allow it with your friends.
Great video! I have a couple of questions I can’t find the answers to anywhere. How many players do you need to play in a crusade? Can you do it with only 2?
Must you continue the campaign in it's entirety with the Detachment you initially selected? Or are you able to swap between the various Detachments in your codex from game to game?
I'm just starting out 40k and only did 2 game of combat patrol but each time. i have trouble placing the terrain. I have a couple ruins to place but no inspiration where to place them. Any tips?
Generally you want to get some good line of sight blocking terrain in the center between the two deployment zones as well as in or near each deployment zone, so you can start with units hidden behind cover. I might make a whole video on the topic because I know this can be tricky to get the right balance and placement at times, especially if you are newer to the game.
Thanks for the video. Though I've got a question: Talking about experience points makes it seem to me, like this favours elite armies. As you only get an extra xp for three whole units killed. With Grey Knights vs Tyranids for example, Grey Knights would have a much better time killing three units, where as the tyranids will probably struggle to get three kills in total. Is this not unbalanced and if so, how do you deal with this?
That's an interesting thought. From my experience, this doesn't affect balance as much as you'd think. For hoard armies, like Tyranids, usually the characters and monsters get marked for greatness, which levels them up quicker so you tend to see the heavy hitters becoming even more lethal. Yet with the infantry, they still get upgrades over time and it comes out to more or less a wash as, in the case of Tyranids, they still have the benefit of numbers vs something more elite. That being said, Crusade is not very balanced and isn't necessarily supposed to be. There are a lot of opportunities for drastic pendulum swings of power with crusade whether it's the asymmetrical missions, upgrades, or crusade blessings.
This was a great video explaining 40k Crusade. More people need to get into it. This is what 40k is all about. Thanks for sharing!!
I've always wanted to play some crusade, it's nice to see a channel dedicated to it.
Excellent video. Have always considered crusade but been put off by all the nuances, but this video sets it out really clearly. Thanks!

40K at its best right there!
That binder setup is genius! Definitely doing something similar for my crusade force, I love physical stuff.
Thank Sam. I understand much more about crusade now. Also, your binder is groovy.
Excellent explanations, Sir! Happy to see the Tyranids rising to their long-awaited place in this ever evolving struggle for Table top supremacy!
This was a really well delivered and produced guide! I've always wanted to do a crusade and this has been very helpful.
Great video dood =D me and the kids are just starting a crusade campaign so was really useful for us all to make sure we dont forget anything =]
As someone who is just starting out learning crusade this was an awesome video. Thanks a lot. 👍
Brilliant summary. Much appreciated!
Thanks man , genuinely helpful and informative vid dude. Good thoughts to you and your loved ones
Great vid! Only one correction thou. "Renowned Heroes" - the RP cost increases for each enhancement you bought in your order of battle, not per character.
"This Requisition costs 1RP plus 1 additional RP for each other Enhancement that your Order of Battle contains (to a maximum of 3RP)." ©
Really helpful! Thank you for the great content.
Big ups! Thank you

This sounds badass as fuck, can't wait to try this out at my local shop
It is a lot of fun!

You can play with just two players. Also if you find other players that have a crusade army from a different campaign, you can play against them too.
Must you continue the campaign in it's entirety with the Detachment you initially selected?
Or are you able to swap between the various Detachments in your codex from game to game?
You can change detachments at any point in the Crusade

True, thanks. It's so easy to forget that where back at a good old rpg and not a competitive game again.
How do you obtain crusade relics?
When a character levels up you can select a crusade relic as a battle honor instead of a battle trait or other upgrade.
@@bignerdswargaming thanks dude. Me and a buddy are starting our crusade in a week so this helped alot
Does age of Sigmar have a crusade like mode?
Probably
Not enough visuals
