What is the decal on the merc at the start?
I've never in my life hit the like button before the 20 second mark. Then everything changed when this video was released.
I can see a completely dominant 1s player maining Merc in the future.

Aztral had been experimenting with the Merc (mostly just when FTP dropped and the new hitbox was announced) and he seemed to be going wild with it. He is, of course, ALWAYS insane, but he seemed a little extra insane in the Merc

I used only merc/battle-bus on the first 2 weeks since F2P came out, and I really like it. It's really easy to control the ball on the floor, and you can get used to flick with it.
Then I bought the rocket pass and wanted to use harbinger, so I got used to octane hitbox again and is hard to go back. I hope they release some other merc hitbox car anytime soon

Also, with Merc getting it's own hitbox it means that the Merc, which is practically a cylinder, perfectly represents its hitbox visually. A big plus for newbies.

Idea for a video: flip speed. I noticed with a macro I was much more likely to hit my nose on the ground with the Hybrid at a faster speed compared to other cars, maybe this is why the Hybrid isn't seen as much in pro play.

2 month player here, god why does my brain hated the octane after training with it for long hours . Literally my brain really despised it, I could still do high mechanical skills like double resets, ceilings, double taps but I cant just stand it and affects me mentally tilting me randomly in situations.
The Dominus, Merc, Sentinel, Diestro, nimbus are my go to loadout since im f2p and really I win almost about 65% of my games switching between d3-c3 accounts for the cars. When I noticed you say car spins in the same way baffled me since I really rotate faster with dominus, diestro, and merc but now I know it's placebo.

How's your input delay experiment going? Are you going to post the results soon?
Also can you test the DualSense and Series X controller for input delay like you did with the others?
I will test the controllers. That's going to be the next video. The input lag experiment results are still a long while away. It's moving very slowly, mostly due to my own fault, but also because there is just a ton to do.

@@RocketScience will you be testing all the buttons and sticks to see if the delay is consistent? I remember some controllers you tested, some had different delay for the buttons and sticks.
Also are you testing them USB vs Bluetooth as well?

I played the battle bus for a bit. couldn't get used to the car rotating around its wheels moreso than the octane.

Thanks! I'm reading the values from the game's memory using BakkesMod. The hitbox plugin is open source on Github, so you can look at how that does it.

Any chance you could point me to a video tutorial of some kind that explains how to read values using Bakkesmod (and/or dump them to a CSV or spreadsheet file)? I looked through Bakkesmod's options, but can't figure it out, and I don't know enough about coding to write my own plugin.

So Merc has it's own Hitbox and they gave that Hitbox to the Battle Bus but feel like the Road Hog and Road Hog XL should have this too i mean look at them they look like they should have the Merc's Hitbox

I did spend some time with the merc initially but just couldn't get over the fact that it looks so meh. Same is true for Harbinger, which fits the octane hitbox so damn well.
I always thought I'm a man of reason, but nope, I just want to sport a flashy lime octane-design all day long.
Meh? I run the merc with the dots decal and a smiley car antenna thing with the aquadome buoy and it look like a foodtruck. Imagine braziling a titanium white octane sweat with this food truck monstrosity.

Is it in my head that the Merc has ridiculously bouncy suspension? (visually) I feel like it doesn't affect physics interactions but the way it moves is super distracting. Any time you land or turn it bounces around both far and for a long time. I want to try the Merc preset for the height but this makes Merc unviable for me, and Battle Bus is out for other reasons.

I made a simple savage epic merc preset lol
I've been trying it out rn and it can generate a huge amount of power, but the shots are less precise than in Octane or the others. It's also kinda easier to hit the ball in difficult aerials.
I will demo chase anyone who dares to use the battle bus
