As a gen z rock fan, I didn't get to see many original bands progress from infancy to household name status, but ATW is a band I've been watching closely since their firstt album and they've just delivered banger after banger. They deserve every ounce of success and more
Agreed! I met the guys at a Primus/Mastodon show they were opening and they were the best live act of the show! I had them sign my copy of Sleeping Through The War cause I know everyone will be jealous of it when they become legends

Well, you can spend on effects , or spend on guitars and amps.Their boards are affordable, but the other gear, NSM. Personally, I've long employed, and no doubt depend, on a mixture of pedals and alt tunings to achieve a sound.ATW are more straightforward in their techniques, which I also fully appreciate. While I've no doubt layed a lot out in effects, I've built all my ( Fender style) guitars myself, and use more affordable amps like the Egnater Tweaker, and lower watt Ampeg's, instead of the higher end stuff that easily runs into thousands.When you're using amps like that, it's almost a shame to get the sound from elsewhere.Might have as much invested in speakers and cabs as in amps.They can make a huge difference.

That was one epic show. Devils night in the mother church. The fog was glowing orange. Saw Michael walking out into the alley afterwards, the same alley that hank Sr is supposed to haunt. Told him thanks for the religious experience and left him to process the previous 2 hours in the cool damp air. Hope to see y'all and sing happy birthday at exit/in again one new years. Stand up guys playing from their hearts.
I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland literally like 30 minutes or so from Greensboro.. Knaggs guitar is awesome and it's so cool that my favorite band plays an instrument that is made by a local business.
“FOD” is Foreign Object Debris on an airport runway. It can be perilous, such as when the Concorde jet crashed due to the effects of a FOD strike in 2000.
31:55 Whenever i see a beautiful Rickenbacker Bass of Honor all i think is CLIFF BURTON and i get inspired to play Bass while putting my Black Guitars in hold even if it is a strangely cool looking mutilated bass like this

Kenny Vaughan is really great. His solo on I Still Long for Your Kiss from his Austin city limits performance with Lucinda Williams is probably the best thing on UA-cam.
Love rig run downs. One request to consider: if you could put time stamps for different major sections (especially for any sound examples of the different gear). Would be so useful. Even if it is just in the website version and not on UA-cam description. I don’t often have time to watch the whole video for every rig run down. (For example: I looked around a bit and never found the sound example of the heavy amp mentioned in this one). But great great series, thank you for continuing to do.
Great suggestion, Jason. We always put the time stamps in the Rundowns before it gets shared via UA-cam, but we can do that earlier knowing it benefits the viewers who watch before it gets released fully. Also, 30:38 is when Ben kicks on the Dale Amps firebreather.
Volume pedals can also work very well for my instrumental Doommetal music as well 5:30 ahhhh loved whenever a new under looked brand i had no idea that existed shows to display EXACTLY the kind of beauty that i love on my kind of Guitars is just for me, BLACK SG-Like Model is all you have to say to me specially with that kind of rare stealthy Gothic beauty that screams METAL so hardcore
Exactly right . Having your guitar in the monitor as the only way you hear yourself SUCKS. A full band mix only necessary on a silent stage with the dreaded InEARS. Unless your helping Haul gear Leave the Princeton home please.
Whoa. This is insane. They seemed like they just got endorsed by Hiwatt. I wonder what happened with that relationship and why they went from clean amps to needing these high gain amps.
Awesome band and rundown, but that sg is literally just a standard lmao, it has the standard trapezoid inlays and the crown inlay on the headstock, its 100% a standard. Still cool
Its interesting how Ben percieves the Bare knuckle Mules to be of higher output even though the Super Distortion is a ceramic magnet with a high resistance (almost 14komh) and the Mules are a PAF clones with AlNiCo 4 magnets and a resistance of 8.4kohm. Im thinking Knaggs either put in something more aggressive in his guitar or its just a frequency thing since the Mules are much more mid forward
So he doesn't use a noise gate? I use one but that's because I suck really bad and I can't yet control very well those little annoying sounds. Do these pro players just not make those kinds of horrible sounds so they don't use a noise gate?
