I really miss your "sisters' Sundays"- miss it a LOT. I completely understand the reason that you all decided to stop the "sisters Sunday" videos- we don't want you stretched too thin and feeling overwhelmed. But there aren't any videos of both of you now on a regular basis, and I felt they were very helpful. Even if you recorded it together over Zoom (because I know one of the issues was that it was difficult to get physically together) I think that the value is in the repartee between the two of you. I love all of your videos and watch them all.

Funny you both saying to unplug. In June I quit my adult kids. My 46 year old had been critically ill for two years ( I was her full time caregiver, she's much better now) and my other two are recovering drug addicts. Anyway they have ALOT of drama all the time. I was just totally worn out and literally told them I couldn't do it anymore. Oh and I'm a widow. I just recently started to talk to them again but only at my discretion. They are now taking care of each other ( mostly). Fortunately they're about 3000 miles away from me. I only watch very little t. v. and you tube, no news. Read my Bible and worship music. I started the bible recap last week and I'm enjoying it very much. All this to say I feel ya girls, unplug!! I'm finding my joy and peace in the Lord!!

I deliberately stopped listening to news programmes at the start of the pandemic. I was so anxious that something would happen a family member. I haven't missed it, friends and family would bring up situations world wide and I could feel the anxiety building. I can't stop all the bad in the world. I can pray for those caught up in war, poverty and other hardships. I don't need to know all the details, my prayers are still heartfelt and valid. Thank you for reminding me it's ok to do this. I did the same but lately slipped back into listening because my dad was a proud veteran of 45 years. I started thinking about what he would think of the latest news. My anxiety went through the roof again. So off went the news for a second time. I’m trying hard to make that stick, and I am focusing on things I can do for God in my circle of influence.
60 days ago, I picked up my Bible and turned off all the news. I am not turning my back on the world, I feel I’m doing the most through prayer, that I ever have. Have your own heart at peace; one at a time, the world changes for the better.
Ours souls (and body and minds) were built to live in one location and only know what was happening to those immediately around us in our town or city. We could help, support, respond and reach out to our fellow man in need (fire, flood, poverty, sickness) without being overwhelmed by what was happening everywhere in the world at once. While we may not feel we can turn it all off all the time, I agree that focusing on one way you can help at a time, and then going all in on that, is a way to still respond to our global communities and better cope ourselves.
My husband and I do not watch a lot of television but we have been enjoying The Chosen. Binge Jesus!🙂 I would highly recommend that everyone “Come & See” Jesus & his disciples in an exceptionally relatable life changing way!❤️🔆

Husband and I just finished a media fast because we needed to disconnect from all the sources of anxiety and stress. No outside input for 2 weeks. No youtube, no news videos, etc. I had just started my journey to simplifying my home, but it helped to recenter and refocus on my Lord, my only source of peace, and on my home and family, the most important things on my plate right now. Jesus' peace be upon you both and His blessings upon you and yours. 🙏

Today is my 43rd bday! I am grateful the Lord has given me life for 43 yrs. However, I never thought In my life time, literally I would actually see all of this worldly chaos. It does break my heart. It feels so much to handle emotionally, spiritually and physically. But I can hear both of your voices reminding me...my world was only to be able to handle is 150 people max, That God is IN CONTROL, We are to continue to pray, and hang on to our Living Hope, continue to share the Gospel, lean into His Peace, and so much more. I've been saying the same thing for a few years now: We all want the same things...freedom, health, peace, love, faith, family, friends, home, happiness...we all want the best for our family, our country, ourselves...we just disagree on how we get there.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Philippians 4:8 The Holy Spirit brought this verse to mind when I was being bombarded with the news and events of the times we live in. I felt it was permission for me from him to "check out" and let my mind and soul rest. Rest in him. Spending time in prayer for others that need lifted up that are hurting. Because that is the good that I can fill myself with all while stepping away from the things that are pulling me down. Blessings

Thank you for this discussion. I chose to eliminate the tv news from my daily routine approx 20 yrs ago. My nervous system was shot. Now, after recovering I decided that I needed to keep the negativity away. This has made a huge impact on my health and we'll being. I still pray and know that's the best line of defense, I just don't need all the extreme details. At times I pondered if that was lazy or insensitive of me, but quickly I was reminded that if I don't take care of myself, I can't be of help to others. Your input was sweetly validating. Thank you 💕

This same thing has been weighing on my heart this week. God is undoubtedly working here. I work in a hopistal and have had a very challenging 1.5 years mentally, emotionally, and psychologically. My best work pal, who pulled me through some dark times, doesn't happen to agree with me on a lot of things. What a shame it would have been to miss out on that friendship and happiness for the sake of being divided. 💙
Really miss you two together... and I TOTALLY agree... Even a long conversation with my sister (politically opposite of me), will spin me out for days... I find myself emotionally so weak, frazzled, exhausted... "thin" -- I have NO emotional resiliency or bandwidth. I, before you suggested it, turned off ALL the things... and you are right. Thank you for this discussion. I chose to eliminate the tv news from my daily routine approx 20 yrs ago. My nervous system was shot. Now, after recovering I decided that I needed to keep the negativity away. This has made a huge impact on my health and we'll being. I still pray and know that's the best line of defense, I just don't need all the extreme details. At times I pondered if that was lazy or insensitive of me, but quickly I was reminded that if I don't take care of myself, I can't be of help to others. Your input was sweetly validating. Thank you 💕

Thank you for this message. My parents are in the hospital with Covid pneumonia and I feel no peace. Compassion fatigue is a true thing for the medical front line workers. Only God can be in control no matter what is going on around us. Loved the plane and train analogy. Bless you both

I work in a hopistal and have had a very challenging 1.5 years mentally, emotionally, and psychologically. My best work pal, who pulled me through some dark times, doesn't happen to agree with me on a lot of things. What a shame it would have been to miss out on that friendship and happiness for the sake of being divided. 💙

Really miss you two together... and I TOTALLY agree... Even a long conversation with my sister (politically opposite of me), will spin me out for days... I find myself emotionally so weak, frazzled, exhausted... "thin" -- I have NO emotional resiliency or bandwidth. I, before you suggested it, turned off ALL the things... and you are right. If it's big enough news, it'll get through!
