since you ran out of room, what I would do is build a smaller freestanding rack. place it within reach of where you stand and put your most often used tools on it.

It would get over ran with random tools becoming a catch all rack. It doesn’t matter how organized a person is, when in a hurry all organization goes out the window. And then forget to but it back in it’s place. Will happen over and over until it’s a complete mess.

It's nice to have an organized and efficient shop. I really like the rack and how you can move the hooks for different spacings. However, before I can make one for my shop as a tool rack I think my wife will want one in the house for hanging our cast iron pans. Looks great, thanks!

I think you should do an episode on where you get your material. Idk if you just have a bunch stocked up but it seems like it's mostly recycled from other stuff which would be a cool story! Do you go down to the scrapyard and load up your truck? I bet theres some pretty cool stuff people throw out you can reuse into something else!

I like the other peoples idea of another freestanding rack for the tooling you're using frequently or currently. But i would make it a circular one that spins. That way its a smaller footprint and still easily accessible

heating up zinc plated lags is a no no. Get some muriatic acid (found in most hardware stores) dilute and drop lags in acid solution for 15 minutes...rinse

The idea of a mobile rack is good, you pick the tools you need at for that process and they can be close by, in addtion to extra storage, keep the often used tools on the mobile rack, less often used on the wall rack.

Could we have an into to the other person working in your shop, please? Also, you'll get more onto that rack if you bunch everything a bit closer. Alternatively, make another rack, you'll fill it up quicker then you'd realise 😂

I think a hinged rack in front of the new rack would be perfect( kinda how a cabinet door opens). Doesn’t take up any more wall space and you can easily get to the tooling on the rear rack. Maybe offset the front rack vertically so all the working ends of the tools are easily seen.

I'd add another rack about 2' above that one and have it sticking out from the wall a bit more so the hanging tools would overhang the lower ones. You'd have twice the amount of hangers without loosing much floor space.

You've got room on the other side wall going to the corner to build another rack.
Actually there you go double sacked racks top and lower ones. For your short and long tools.
    Just saying.

To me it seems like the hooks might fall off if you take the tool off the wrong way. That would be super frustrating, taking a tool off and then the hook falls off.

I know as a blacksmith you are accustomed to it, but I don't think the lathe is supposed to be rusty. 😬
I wonder if a wooden bar behind the tools down lower would help from the wall getting all dented up!
    Cute dog!

He had it out in the rain for some time after moving.....visible in his vids....lol. Running his hammer without grease in the bearings and all sorts of crazy nonsense. Tim is a nice guy but boyo...he is so...like...smart....i love his work with the upsetters....but he is even more reckless than alec steele...and that guy is hard to watch sometimes.
