Start with a challenging childhood. Add a successful and prolific career in television. Stir in an interesting personal life and you end up with a fascinating documentary.

It's a shame that so many of Normans sitcoms were made at KTTV11 Metromedia Square in Hollywood and this iconic studio was sold and demolished even though it had a heritage title. It's ironic that the site is now a place of learning. A High School. I suppose a school is better than a mall. But, it's a shame it wasn't turned into a TV Museum. RIP Mr Lear.
