Although Alan Rickman was a great actor, and you’re right, his role in this series is hard to top. But Gary Oldman is my fav. Actor hands down. But his role in this doesn’t top Alan’s in this one. So for this series I agree.
@41:47 David Bradley (Argus Filch) was 60 when this movie came out and 69 when Game of Thrones premiered in 2011. He’s currently alive and well at the age of 82.
You're probably already into the later films, but just in case... Richard Harris passed away shortly after making "Chamber of Secrets." A new actor - Michael Gambon - was brought in to play Dumbledore, but rest assured he is supposed to be the exact same character.
Filch is a Squib. He is basically a muggle born to Wizard parents. Also, the answer to your question of "How is that Voldemort?" will be answered in the 6th movie, so remember the diary.
You guys should take a sorting hat quiz. Heads of houses are: Gryffindor: McGonagall, Ravenclaw: Flitwick (the tiny Charms teacher), Hufflepuff: Sprout (the Herbology teacher) and Slytherin: Snape. Filch is indeed the handyman (Hagrid is Groundskeeper--meaning outside grounds). The quizzes always put me in Gryffindor, but I am a Hufflepuff by choice.
As a centerstage yes. As a character/ ally far more in the books. House elfs, ghosts, if I remember correctly even the paintings. In the movie it´s just the statues.
Filch (aka Walder Frey) is the Caretaker of Hogwarts, so yes, basically maintenance like a janitor, although he doesn't have any magic because he is a Squib (a person born into a wizarding family with no magic, like the opposite of a muggleborn like Hermione) and Hagrid is the Groundskeeper for the outdoors of the castle.
Dobby punishes himself every time he does something wrong, bad or speaks badly about the family he serves, that’s why he’s always hitting himself with objects or ironing his hands lmfaoooo he always has good intentions though :)
It's more Harry's courage than his power. He's like the definition of bravery. That's why he's in Gryffindor, because each house represents certain qualities in people. Gryffindor represents courage, bravery, and determination. But don't worry, there is more to Harry Potter than just his courage.
1:17:22 Emma Watson was just too embarrassed to hug both boys so the director told her to only hug one of them, but it serves also as an underlying tone for the future
Sorting Hat was the hat which is bewitched by the founders of Hogwarts. It has parts of how the founders' mind/thoughts and would allow students into their house just like how the founders did back then.

27:02 Actually Ron Weasley is the more unique one, coming from one of less than half a dozen Pure Blood families left in Great Britain. They gave Harry Dudley's second bedroom back in the Philosopher's Stone, once Harry started getting letters from Hogwarts with the envelope saying that Harry was living in the cupboard under the stairs (because The Dursleys thought wizards were spying on them). The scene you described was at the end of the Order of the Phoenix.
Happy Thanksgiving guys!!! I have to say I'm very grateful for the opportunity of knowing you two wonderful people ❤ As an old Harry Potter fan I must say I like a lot of characters but my favorites are definitely Ron Wesley and his entire family, Hagrid, professor Mcgonagall, Dumbledore and more to come😊! And on another note I have to ask you since you're so close to 50K subscribers will we get a live reaction to mark this milestone?
Loved y'alls umbrella discussion 😂 Im with Mr. October, I feel like it's weird as a dude to use an umbrella, dont really know why, I just know I don't own one. I do own a simple dark rain jacket and I like hats, so if it's bad out, I'll wear those. Feels less awkward to keep up with those things when you get where you're going than an umbrella, plus you don't have to fight the wind nearly as much. But no hate to the umbrella crowd, you do what works for you! 😊
I'm not big on umbellas either, but its mostly because I don't wanna have to carry it around afterwards lol. I wear a lotta hoodies even though it doesn't really do crap to shield you from the rain.
There is (or at least used to be) the back end of a luggage trolley cemented into that brickwork, so that people could have a photo of themselves going through the portal. It’s at Kings Cross station in London.
Rowling's description of the pixie scene was hilariously written. You can find the Dahl influence. First paragraph, in first book, I instantly thought of Dahl when I initially read the series.
The only thing I don’t like about these movies is how dirty they do Ron’s character like he’s not that bad of a wizard and he has so much better moments in the books that we’re given to Hermione in the films
I don’t want to give away any surprises i can only say It just gets better can’t wait to watch your reactions I’m obsessed with HP … A lot of good quotes to …inspiring and true
A lot of the names are a little on the nose in this series. Hedwig, who is a girl owl, is the name of the patron saint of orphans. Also, I feel like I can say it now without there being any spoilers because it is literally never mentioned in the movies, but I was so impressed that Mrs. O picked up that it seems off in the first movie that Hogwarts cooks and cleans itself. It doesn't. It has a small army of house elves as essentially slave labor. In the book, Hermione is literally the only person that is bothered by the situation. She starts a club committed to their welfare.
If you're together the gentleman holds the umbrella for both yourself and the lady. ;) Get yourself and nice black one with a wooden handle , Can get some cool ones too that pop up with a touch of a button. Makes you feel like a spy.
The first 2 films are excellent but it gets even better, and much darker from now on. Also key story strands are developed so you’ll need to keep an eye on detail, some of it plays a part later on. I’m so jealous you get to experience all of this for the first time.
Stranger Things...Game of Thrones, The Boys, Harry Potter, all of my fav things lately and now I find out your also immersed in ACOTAR, the wingspan comment had me creased 😆 I think we could be besties 🥰 love your reactions!
There is two reasons why Harry is such a powerful wizard. They revealed one of them with Voldermort giving him some of his power. The second reason will be revealed in last movie which is pretty cool explanation and connects some dots.
Great reaction team well done, I'm s glad you're enjoying the characters and understanding them. The character curve for some of them is brilliant when you continue. My fav character was Professor Snape.
you two are so cute ! ahahaha... The first two movies have the same director..Chris Columbus..that's why they have a continuity of feelings..presentation...there were 3 or 4 directors in all..each having a specialty or were known for working with certain aged actors...therefore the timeline will change in feelings with each new movie... yes you are 2 different types of people but you share a common affection for life and love...so opposites do attract when they have a common interest.... Thanks for your reaction..I'm looking forward to each new installment...Happy Thanksgiving Octobers 💚🦃... 🌿🌿🌿
Another great reaction guys! You're pretty much through the kiddie movies now, you'll notice a darker shift in the next couple of films. Also Richard Harris, the Dumbledore actor, passed away shortly after making this one, so you'll see a new actor going forward. You guys are the best as always!
Heck yeah, y'all are killing it with these reactions, straight fire! Also (Snape) is my favorite character! Like you said no spoilers, his character development is so fun!😎🔥
55:55 one of my favorite things about the game Hogwarts Legacy is the number of call-backs to the books and movies. There's a quest called "Follow The Butterflies"! :D
In the books dobby starts to work there during the 4the book but he doesnt show up in the movie sadly.. but he does come up multiple times later on in the books its nice to see him get more of a role in fhe books
I have multiple favorite characters. Snape, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, and two others that you two will meet later. Oh, and this movie turned the Weasley car into my dream car. It's also what started a love of old cars I have, as did another movie series about a living car called Herbie.
17:07 I've always had this question myself. The only thing that seems unique about the Weasleys is they are a one income family and have more children than most other families we meet.
Also just FYI, don't be surprised when you see a new Dumbledore for the third movie (The Prisoner of Azkaban). The real actor died, so they had to replace him. Though to be honest, I believe the new Dumbledore is better as far as acting goes. The Dumbledore on the first two movies, however, I hear was a joy to work with off the set more than on it. So who knows about their real life personalities. But yeah, you may wonder why Dumbledore looks/acts different, and that would be why. For whatever reason, tons of people keep saying that it wasn't until AFTER the third movie that Dumbledore's actor changed, but they clearly either remember wrong, or somehow never noticed the change on the third movie. IMDB makes it perfectly clear though.
I thought I already left this comment, but since I can't seem to find it anywhere after I tried editing it, then here we go: I remember during the last movie you thought she said "octopus repairo" which I thought was pretty funny. But now that you mention she should open up her own cell phone shop I'm half-wondering if you still misheard it to that degree. Unless there was a "cellular phone repairo" or something it wouldn't work, since she's saying "oculus repairo" as in "repair glasses." Many spells have names that resemble fairly closely their real-world purpose. Then again, there are spells that don't seem to indicate what they do at all. Like "sectumsempra" which you don't find out about until significantly later... or at least that's what I would say, but I just now looked up at the latin root of the word sectum and that one also makes sense. So maybe every single spell used has an actual analogue to what it's really doing then. Leviosa levitates, "xyz repairo" repairs, reducto reduces, stupefy is fairly self-explanetory, expelliarmus is also fairly self-explanatory once you see it in action, even expecto patronum makes sense when you look at the latin roots again. So yeah I'll just say it, there isn't a spell that can work any other way than what's implied by its name. Octopus repairo, however, MAY be able to repair an octopus. Assuming octopus is proper wizard-ese for spells on an octopus. But every spell I can think of ever said in the movies has a proper root that actually makes sense and refers to the action performed. Though of course there's the extremely famous Avada Kedavra that you learn about a few more movies down the line, and that one you have to look to Aramaic to find a base for. Still, every spell in Harry Potter has an interesting root that has a fairly strong connection to what it actually does. Was quite the learning experience for me. I just didn't want you mistakenly believing you could go "octopus repairo" and have anything mended that way... lol.

Not quite.
OMG, I also thought of Herbie. This car more moodier because being a magical experiment by a muggle-loving wizard. Still comes in clutch when needed.
Fun fact, remember the little German scientist that worked for red skull in the first captain America movie? He’s the voice actor for dobby
"Chamber of Secrets" is my favorite of all the Harry Potter movies! After this one, they are not the same anymore.
There is (or at least used to be) the back end of a luggage trolley cemented into that brickwork, so that people could have a photo of themselves going through the portal. It’s at Kings Cross station in London.
Dobby is the G.O.A.T
"She should be like that's $100 please. She should open up a cell phone repair shop." Spoken like true Americans! 😂. I'm having fun watching.
The sorting hat
I don’t want to give away any surprises i can only say It just gets better can’t wait to watch your reactions I’m obsessed with HP … A lot of good quotes to …inspiring and true
This was peak and always will be love all of these movies so fucking good cant wait for the 3rd movie
She doesn't do that until the 4th book but fair enough to tell them now s8nce none of that is in the movies.
If I'm not mistaken it was a tough sell because most house elves pride themselves on their bond to the family they serve or in this case Hogwarts.
Yea, she starts SPEW and tries to leave clothes around in order to free them. 😂 Oh, it was a very “bless your heart” moment for Hermione.
34:00 Mr. October trying to dodge something on screen will never get old 😂
lol it comes at me sometimes!
Stranger Things...Game of Thrones, The Boys, Harry Potter, all of my fav things lately and now I find out your also immersed in ACOTAR, the wingspan comment had me creased 😆 I think we could be besties 🥰 love your reactions!
"Happy Chrismas Harry, Happy Christmas Ron..."
lolol
There is two reasons why Harry is such a powerful wizard. They revealed one of them with Voldermort giving him some of his power. The second reason will be revealed in last movie which is pretty cool explanation and connects some dots.
Love your reaction! Yes Voldemorts real name is Tom Riddle. And he was a Student at Hogwarts. But you will learn more about his life in later movies
"Damn, that book is immersive!"
Literally - LOL
Ron reminds me of Mr. October. The owl's name is Hedwig = Head wig like a wig on your head. The cat woman is Professor McGonagle.
1:19:34 I like the Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni, Romania! It was used as the filming location for Nevermore Academy in the series "Wednesday"!
prisoner of azkaban is peak
Heck yeah, y'all are killing it with these reactions, straight fire! Also (Snape) is my favorite character! Like you said no spoilers, his character development is so fun!😎🔥
55:55 one of my favorite things about the game Hogwarts Legacy is the number of call-backs to the books and movies. There's a quest called "Follow The Butterflies"! :D
and yall are intelligent, watching yall watch this was so fun - discussion at the end was wild 😂
In the books dobby starts to work there during the 4the book but he doesnt show up in the movie sadly.. but he does come up multiple times later on in the books its nice to see him get more of a role in fhe books
That was my first Harry Potter film in movie theater...I loved it and I was scared about spiders beneath my armchair in the room 😂.
I have multiple favorite characters. Snape, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, and two others that you two will meet later.
Oh, and this movie turned the Weasley car into my dream car. It's also what started a love of old cars I have, as did another movie series about a living car called Herbie.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the best movie in the series!
My favorite out of all of them
I think Prisoner of Azkhaban is the best.
17:07 I've always had this question myself. The only thing that seems unique about the Weasleys is they are a one income family and have more children than most other families we meet.
"Never try to save my life again"...
I thought I already left this comment, but since I can't seem to find it anywhere after I tried editing it, then here we go:
I remember during the last movie you thought she said "octopus repairo" which I thought was pretty funny.
I just didn't want you mistakenly believing you could go "octopus repairo" and have anything mended that way... lol.
"Never try to save my life again." 😭
Hagrid and Donny are two of my faves. Both pure of heart. ❤️
