Something I've noticed with my Dexcom G6 CGM is during exercise and showering, it's not accurate. It will show a spike, but when I track my glucose every 5 mins with a fingerstick, it never changes. Same thing with temperature changes. If I go from air conditioned space outside into the heat, it will show a spike, but when I actually check it with my glucometer, there is no spike. I've worn a CGM for 18 months now (I use the Levels Health program) and the inaccuracies of the thing are annoying.
Check out Maria and Graig Emmerich’s free Macro counter on their site… they do the science on prioritising protein and keeping fat and carbs and calories low if you want to lose fat… they have an excellent UA-cam vid of how to lose fat on Keto or Carnivore… Craig has really researched this better than most I know of online.
Rule of thumb , take your IDEAL body weight , x 0.7 , that’s your protein in grams , and and the other 30% is your fats and carbs . And if you count calories and want to lose by doing calorie deficit , take your ideal weight x10 for 5’3”” and under and x 12 for over 5’3” .. this is all rule of thumb and everyone is different . But it’s a good rule of thumb and helps you to learn tracking which helps you realize how you really are doing and helps you adjust your food habits
If you have SIBO problems, you may want to rethink the chocolate peanut butter powder as both are high in oxalates, which can be the underlying problem with gut permeability. Also if you’re leaning keto/carnivore, which I like too, your SIBO might be caused by oxalate dumping.
@@IndigoNili Yes, I understand. I’ve suffered stomach issues and migraine headaches for years till I took charge of my own health. Now, I’m not troubled by either. Congratulations on your success.
With or without SIBO, consuming small particle powders like peanut butter powder and protein powder is not good for us, they are highly processed and may not affect some people’s glucose but will increase insulin, which is not good in the long run. Better to get nutrients from whole low carb foods.
My husband and I both found our muscles got stiff from eating chocolate too often. It stopped when we stopped eating chocolate. I am thinking it was because of the oxalates in chocolate. I’ve noticed that lots of people in the keto/carnivore world, from whom I learn so much, are paying more attention to oxalates as problematic. Also, we are 79 and 76 respectfully so our age may have something to do with it as well.
I just loved how you confused the names as my hubby does that all the time - he always says my name when he means our son! I do it all the time too - same thing - I say Trevor when I mean Steve! Or the opposite. Also loved Levi’s banana love. Two bananas a day is part of his good diet! You have been amazing when it comes to eating - most kids eat a lot of crap. I unfortunately did not teach my son well even though he doesn’t see me eat a lot of it. Because you eat differently from most of the country, they have learned what is healthy and what is not. I wish my son (who is now 28) would eat better. He is neuro-divergent and has texture and flavor issues and doesn’t like all the healthier stuff I cook or have on-hand. You are lucky that all your children are healthier mentally too.
Just visiting, no Recipe?? I don’t need to watch anyone cooking, many of us are very busy and just want to try out recipes on interesting keto and Carnivorr ideas, so sorry…
Those soft boiled eggs look soooo good! ❤️🥰❤️
Great piano music in the background during your breakfast prep!
The best!

Wow! I am a RN and am impressed with your blood sugar control and attention to your diet. If I could only get my patients to be as vigilant as you!
Please do a video on how many grams of protein and fat you recommend based on whether someone wants to lose, gain or maintain body fat.

Since going through SIBO treatment I no longer have sibo problems. I love how much my diet has expanded since getting that taken care of!
