*How are you handling the incoming Heat? Using mining Tents? Mining Shed? Server Cases?*
one of my favorite intro's in the mining tuber game! NICE EXHAUST FAN DAMN
Always appreciate the support Mr. Panda. You truly are a man among machines. In reference to that fan....i gotta be honest, it blows...literally
I guess I need to step my intro game up lol
@@jtravaglini lmao!
U should concentrate on your low hashrate @jtravaglini
@@AlteredComponent I thought the lower the better? Low hashrate high power right? Or am I confused
Hopefully this weekend ill finish my whole house fan instal. it takes air from the mining room and sends it out the attack space vents
cant wait to see it ;)
Great video brother!!!!
Thanks man. Appreciate it. You are owning it...cant wait to see you pass me up in subs
Hmmmmm.... Interesting!!
That fan is keeping me from boiling during my day of work ;)
This guy is awesome. Covered it all. Just what I needed
glad to share. Hope it helps
Hey man; i like how you talked about the suction you felt when opening that door. Would you please consider doing another vid on this fan. Close off all the rooms except open a path to the room farthest away - then open a window there and hold a ribbon or something up to show how well it pulls air in from, like in my case, 100 feet away, yeah? Here, the flow would cross one room, turn down a closed off hallway and into my room where the only window in the house will be opened.
Thought i'd ask. Thanks!
100ft away. This is like a 20x20 room = ). So, in this instance I run the fan off a thermostate outlet. I have the hole cut in the door with a 16 x 8" vent installed. I keep the door shut. I do a intake if the temp outside is 80 or below. If it is above 80, i run it as exhaust. even with the vent in the door going into my house, i can only run the king on low. It pulls so much negative pressure, especially on exhaust that the vent is not large enough.
@@AlteredComponent Hey man, thanks for hitting me back. Yeah your space and mine not the same,, gotcha. Still, seeing as how you get by with the fan on low - high may work for me. I wish all these fans would talk about the angle or pitch of their blades; 15 or 20 degrees is prolly all we're getting. Now i gotta go measure my window to see if i have to mod the opening like you had to do - or not, i hope. I def will want to make use of the 'storm guard' feature.
Happy Mining!
I put my fan in my laundry room which is on the opposite corner of my house from my room. I crack open a window in my room and turn on the laundry room fan. I can barely hear it but it feels like there is a fan inside my room. I cool my house that way once the sun is down. I like it better than air conditioning.
Smart...I love it. Using ambient air just feel better
Dude sick setup! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks buddy....but i would say it "blows"...ba dum hisss
Did you have a screen in window before installed fan and if so did you leave it in? Was wondering about resistance to exhausting air thru screen.
Honestly i just slid the screen up,, but it definitely could still be used for my window. I assume that would cause slight drag, but no idea how much
Can this fit in a 25” Wide window if we don’t use the side covers? TIA
sorry, but no "Fits window openings that are between 27" to 38” wide by 26.25" high.Cube (feet):5.42" my window is 29". Best of luck
I bought personally a 24" industrial fan here in Thailand to cool mining room. Just make sure you have sufficient intakes, no need intake fans just holes, and you will be fine.
It made a huge difference, my room could reach sometimes 40 degrees celcius in the hottest days, now the temperature never exceeds 32 degrees celcius, just running at first speed lol
And for those who don't know, outside temperatures during the day, all year long in Thailand, can easily go up to 38 degrees celcius easy peasy :$
Have a great weekend my brother and keep on mining
Thanks for the feedback. Always love to hear how you and other do things. Yeah I learned through trial and error that there has to be intake and out or the negative pressure is so great that air just does not move. That 24" inch fan you are using, any idea on the cfm? Just curious how much air that beast is moving. Keep grinding my friend
@@AlteredComponent @Altered Component Well my first speed is basically your last speed ~3500 CFM, second speed is ~4500 CFM and the third one is ~ 5500 CFM.
It's a beast indeed. The seller called me crazy when i picked it, quite overkill for my mining room lol
What do you do when it rains? Does water get inside?
Rain has not been an issue. I have it set on an outlet thermostat and just let it run. I do reverse it to exhaust when it is above 78 outside which then pulled the cool air from the house through the room. If it is cooler than 78 outside, i run it as intake.
Oh man I need to get one of those. I may look at getting that for my office. Maybe help with my house heat
or you could get some server cases and tents...hmmm
@@AlteredComponent that’s a good idea. I will go on eBay and pay some scalper to get me some
Did you have to modify the fan at all? Like trimming it along the bottom or anything?
No, but had to work to get that foam all sealed up
I use the same fan. With intake be careful with pollen and dust. Exhaust is not bad
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the dust and pollen is a bit of an issue. I have mine running on 2nd floor which helps, but definitely brings in the dust
@@AlteredComponent so what I do is exhaust out and at other side of house have a window with a coarse static filter on it. That strains the dust and pollen out
so you can buy expensive computers and fans but not cameras? that dont freeze every second
Window AC units don't pull in outside air, they only recirculate the air in the room.
Agreed. Circulating Ambient Air much smarter
hail to the king
=)
Great video, I'm currently trying to figure out my summer solution. By chance did you happen to record and before and after temps, like you did for the noise?....sub'd
Thanks for watching. I didn't make a spreadsheet for Temps, but I did drop nearly 10 degrees. If I have it on intake, I am using ambient Temps and stays around 5 degrees warmer in cave than the outside temp. If it it is above 85f outside, I set to exhaust then it pulls the ac air from house through. For context though, this room has only 12 gpus mining, a rig with 8 x 3060ti/3070, a pc with dual 3060s, and a desktop with a 3080 fe and 3060ti fe. Mine on
Hey altered, bro you should put one of them electric fan vents in your door, ac infinity sells some. It will pull or push air depending on the direction you install it on the inside or outside of door.
Man, seriously that is a brilliant idea
Going to look into that
Get those things out your house and lower your energy cost. Try a shed or try large diy box on your back porch.
would love to go the shed route, but dropping 10k on a nice habitat for the rigs, probably not in the cards ;)
@@AlteredComponent Try Mining Rig Enclosure/Box Ver 2.0 TwoTon Hasher, that gave me a great idea and mine cost was about $400.
May your hash be high and gpu Temps be low, this is a good cheaper way to keep your cards cool during summer.
I was thinking I'd make a mobile mining rig where I drive around and the ambient air cools the rigs naturally
Smoker verified.
Thanks for watching
Yikes. So, the exhausting fan is just exhausting the cold air from the AC as soon as it comes in. Facepalm. Close the window with the fan and the AC will run more efficiently.
AC is bad for Mining rigs in general and of course the added Power cost. Ambient air is where it is at if possible. This Giant fan has actually been serving me pretty well. Mine on
thing costs $200.00 WOW
Crazy huh. On the off-season it will drop back to 140. Annoying that they boost price in the summer
