      Erick Martin Sucre Very nice! I am glad you are enjoying it. They are not slow bikes and the side bags are super useful. No more back back!

      @@ridewithgnr2116 It's been 7 years since I last rode so I am taking it easy for now and may continue to do so.

      Hello, Rider. Hope all is going well at 7,000 feet. I really hope I can lessen my work schedule and meet up for a ride with you this summer. I plan to do Pikes Peak for sure!

      If you are for sure, let me know. I'll meet you in Colorado Springs, it's over an hour away from me, but it is a fun ride. Mt. Evans is pretty cool too. Both over 14,000 feet. Pikes Peak is private property, so they charge a fee. Mt. Evans is National park territory, so a national parks pass will get you in there.

    Thank you so much that was a well thought-out and informative presentation. I am strongly considering buying a Concours 14 how does this setup affect your ride stability and handling I would be anxious to hear about that

      My experience with a full pack set up and how much the suspension adjustment makes a difference goes like this,.... Yes! But,.... Not all bad. Many moons ago some friends and I were dropping into Death Valley on the most amazing twisty roads and my bike was fully loaded up and was NOT comfortably planted through the curves. It was all over the place. I pulled over, used my fingers only to firm up the front forks and rear adjustment and WOW what a difference it made! Just a few clicks and turns and it was very well planted again, even loaded to the hilt. Great ride!!! About three days later I was shooting North out of Salt Lake City and pulled over to soften it back up as the highway joints were beating me to death. Problem solved, and back on the road! Hope that helps answer any doubts you have. I can see where the BMW and Yamaha with electronic adjustment would be nice at times, but it just see one more electronic device to fail.

    I like that dash bar setup you have. What radar detector do you use?

      Sorry for the delay in responding. It is an older Cobra x, k, ka, and laser which is still pretty relevant if and when it might get used. I have found them more useful in long trips when rolling into small towns as a nice "reminder" to chill out on the throttle. Next year it will be 10 years old!

    Nice loadout. I like that tank bag, but can you see your gauges over it?

    • @ridewithgnr2116
      @ridewithgnr2116  6 років тому +1

      Howdy, An-Cap. I only have speedometer visibility issues when the speed is below 60-65 mph with the tank bags. In town I rarely look at my speedometer at those speeds unless I hit a school zone and have to peak over my bag or "dash" that blocks that view anyway, just in case. At cruising speeds of 65-85 you can see the speedo just fine. Now, I just need more time and money to use my gear and get out of town more often.

    How is the Bluetooth camera working for you. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews

      Reynaldo Rivera blue sena10c works fantastic. I just moved it to the Shoei helmet and the speakers are set in a better position for audio. I wear earplugs which helps cancel a lot of wind noise and makes audio from the speakers much more clear regardless of music or phone use. If you stayed awake through the long 10 year anniversary video there is some communication between my wife and I toward the end on our more recent trips. The instructions were clear on set up for pairing two or more units but not clear on how to activate intercom. One simple push of the big silver button and a few moments later it will connect and you can hear the other person. Camera quality could be a little better but not a make or brake deal for me. Overall, I am happy with it.

    I want a concours so bad but it looks quite big.. Im 5'7, is the concours too much bike for me? (I'm not scrawny though, im pretty meaty lol, so I know I can move the bike around)

    • @ridewithgnr2116
      @ridewithgnr2116  5 років тому +1

      Takingout thetrash I am 5’ 9 and a half! I am 165 lbs, down from my better 185 and I personally do not have a problem moving the bike around. I have proportional longer legs than most for my height, however, so you might want to make sure your legs touch the ground safely before dropping cash on a Concours 14. Just to be sure.

      I have two different ones and on my last trip packed both. Self-inflating foam filled "Browning" is the best and my inexpensive "Colemen" works well too. They are super easy to roll up and turn the air "on" or "off" You unstrap the things and they pretty much expand the foam and then you close the air valve to keep it up while sleeping on it. No heavy breathing or pump required.

    Wow that's a lot of stuff. If you weighed all of that what would it weight?

    • @ridewithgnr2116
      @ridewithgnr2116  6 років тому +1

      Rodney Barcus in all seriousness,... The large duffel with tent, compact Agnes sleeping bag, Tarp, light, first aid, browning roll up mat, about 30 lbs. The tank bag, with electronics and snacks, spare cold weather gloves, map etc,... Est. 25 lbs. The right Pannier with Cooking Mess kit and 1 gallon of water pushes the limits of the bag at about 25 lbs( I was very careful about the weight there)., The left Pannier, mostly clothes and electronics, 15 lbs., Top case with Ice chest,.. and spare cleaning towels another 15 lbs maybe a little more pushing the limits. And sometimes a small duffle strapped on top with extra clothes, 10lbs. And finally, my 170 lbs butt planted on the seat!

      I had to move back to Texas for my wife's health. I was really looking forward to that trip! I had the fortune of riding most every major road in Washington while I lived there. Do you have your routes pretty well laid out and know where all you want to go?

      Not to late to meet up in Vegas and take the connie's to Washington from there, I've went to Vegas from washington on a motor and the return trip was awesome. I always try and switch up routes to and from a destination's so I can get the most scenery in. I'll most likely be heading there in late August early September. My wife likes to ride but only short trips, I love longer trips and stopping and experiencing different towns and cities. We might be moving soon to round rock texas thats the only thing that might delay my trip.

      Big Pun I would love to meet up! Trying to get myself in a position to quit my night job that keeps me tied down. Maybe by then??? I would love to travel from Vegas back up through Death Valley,.... the Highway going up towards Yosemite was amazing years ago and I would love to go that way again. Maybe hit crater lake area in Oregon. (Never been there.). Flown over it! Always open for future options. We will see how the next few months go.

    Try ROK straps I use them they don’t roll on you

    • @ridewithgnr2116
      @ridewithgnr2116  6 років тому

      I will definitely check those out. I started out with some ratchet straps years ago that sucked and on the same trip I met a friend in Portland and picked up some adjustable bungee cords that worked great for my attachment points. I think they held pressure against the back top case and worked perfectly to hold everything quit stable, aw well as, being much faster pack/unpack times. Thanks, Mike B
