Yes they are pioneer speakers but absolutely cheap made...toyota gave them bulk order and requested to make cheapest possible speakers with plastic cones cheap coils and almost No magnet...so the pioneer logo does not mean nothing
This is perfect timing!! I have been eyeing the xle for a while now but was worried about the sound system missing the jbl so thank you for doing this!!!
Trust me it’s not that bad I have it on my SE it definitely has a little kick to it. I heard it on a test drive and actually made me skip the XSE with the JBL. Definitely better than Hondas I’ve been in with their base stereos.
Sounds as awful as mine. Bass super punchy and heavy handed. Midrange almost completely missing, and highs disproportionately loud at whatever frequency that makes your eardrums burn. Thank you for the amazingly accurate representation.
I feel like it's been that way with Toyotas pretty much _forever_ . The 6-speaker system in my 2016 Corolla is no different. Heavy, punchy bass and very crisp, almost shrill treble. Midrange very suppressed. Gives me the impression that they have a baked-in V-curve EQ with 100-700 Hz turned way down. Below about volume 30, it's actually alright. Not outstanding, but acceptable. I don't dare to imagine what the base 4-speaker system sounds like.
I test drove 2 Venza's, one with the JBL and other was this 6 speaker system. I thought the 6 speaker system was nice. I was tipped off to adjust the treble and base to the 3/4 position on the equalizer, and leave the mid on 1/2 position. To me, that was a nice adjustment. I think it is pretty easy to change out the dash speakers with a plug and play upgraded speaker. I was told to stick with a high efficiency speaker because there is only 10 watts.
This channel is invaluable for people who want a decent stereo in their new car without having to pay for the upgraded sound systems. As far as I know, the JBL is not available in the Woodland. It is available in the RAV4 TRD, but it is tied into the Premium Package which costs over $3000. That's obscene and the slight upgrade in sound quality, considering you are not listening to music in a controlled sound room or your living room, is not worth that price.
Great video, I was wondering what the 6 speaker base stereo sounded like considering they use it on almost every model accept the XSE with the JBL system. They use the same 6 speaker system in the Camry's also so it has to be somewhat decent.
Do different audio inputs sound different? I only know my own vehicle, which plays the radio over all the speakers but only plays Bluetooth through the front speakers. Would I be able to play surround bluetooth audio in this?
Are all front door speakers in any car that has just two speakers on either side of the front of the car (just like this rav4 )just a woofer or are some midrange/woofer combos and some just woofers?
these will be low passed "mid range woofers" the top end will come from the tweeters. I would imagine the speaker has a filter built into it so you could add a full range aftermarket speaker just fine.
Wished you would have talked about audio sound sources. My old car had a cd player sounded great. My 2024 m has a RAV4 6 speaker sound system like a tin can. Only good for talk radio.
I am looking at one of the Rav4's I just can't imagine paying $2,500 plus to upgrade the speaker system. I don't blast it full volume and just honestly don't see the point in it?
I am not sure how you liked it, but it really sucks. It's terrible in all aspects. Sounds like all speakers covered with a copper basin. I am so disappointed after having great sound in my old CR-V. Engineers failed with something.
From what I've seen disassembling cars, The base (no name) systems in Toyota & Honda are from Pioneer, at least most of them.

Do you dissemble cars for a living?
@@Kinja_ Probably junkyard/collision repair? I can't think of anything else at the moment.

It has amazing clarity and detail, good bass also for a base system.
Has good bass for a stock system but the clarity/detail is absolute dogshit.
No one has ever said “man the mid on this song isn’t that great let me change it” while driving 😂😂
Im not happy with mine :/ Do you have any recommendations for EQ settings? I wont change every song.
Thx, waited for this is as this is what I have :)

Is there a sound quality difference between wired and wireless CarPlay?

Can you test any standard sound on Volvos like the xc60 for example?

Anyone recommend adding a sub to the 6 speaker system? Just to fill in the sound . Not to blow out my windows.
So the amplifier is located underneath the driver’s seat?
They should have made the audio controls part of the Toyota app

And better than Handa 2017 premium sound system.
Have a 2024 RAV4 XLE 6 speaker and my sound system sucks.
Does anyone know If the speaker in the left rear trunk side easy to replace?
Unless it's greatly improved from the 2022 base system, the sound system is awful ! Looking to upgrade asap
2024 just as bad
@@3100fps I updated my 2024 RAV4 Prime 6 speakers with JBL 328 on dash and 628 in front and rear doors. Major improvement. UA-cam shows how to do it.
