    So unlike the Pixel 2XL which requires the screen to be removed, this one seems to be less prone to cracking since the back is what is removed.

    My pixel3xl microphone not working in speakerphone or video call. Which mic is faulty. ? What is the function top right corner mic ?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 роки тому

      It's probably the top right microphone or can also be an issue with the headphone jack, thinking a headphone is plugged in when its not.

  • @darubinstein

    Great video. I stupidly used the sim removal tool on the top microphone ! Can't be the only idiot to do this hopefully ... Having teardowned the phone is it likely that this would have reached the microphone ?

    do longer antenna cables mean better signal reception? ive seen other phones with very short antenna wires and some with none like iphones and blackberries

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  6 років тому

      Hi, the length of the wires doesn't have an effect on reception. Also I don't think the wires on this phone are used to make any connection regarding signal and so forth. They connect to the charger port flex area giving signal to those components from the main board. However on older HTC units I have seen many wires inside connection many different components. Usually the type of material used overall on the phone would make the most impact on signal. Since the antennas cant receive signal through the aluminum frames on phones, you will notice most manufactures will use some plastic lines on top or bottom of the frame of their phones to allow that to act as a receiver for signal.

    • @MikeTrieu
      @MikeTrieu 5 років тому

      When dealing with RF, shorter cable runs are actually better for receive sensitivity because those cables have a certain amount of attenuation that increases the longer the cable run goes. The biggest gains you'll get is from the antenna design at the ends of the cables. Fractal designs tend to have better robustness to device orientation.

    everything works except the touch screen, it doesn't recognize touch. I have reset all the ribbon cables multiple times.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 роки тому

      Might be a defective touch digitizer on the screen or a faulty chip on the board. You would need to test a new screen assembly and see if the touch works if not then it might be an issue on the board.

    • @PBKreviews

      You would need to take the phone apart, and remove the battery to gain access to the metal brackets which are holding them in place.

Not sure what else I might be missing, but you can check amzn.to/2H1Wx1a to see if there is anything I did not mention possibly.

    I guess this guy doesn't believe in using plastic spudgers when dealing with onboard components. Metal blade all the things!

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 років тому

      Lol plastic spudgers arnt the easiest to use and most of the time the metal tools get the job done the best. As long as the battery is disconnected, there really is no risk. If your not sitting on a static prone carpet with static all around you, no issues. We've been using metal tools since 2004 on phones and have repaired and worked on thousands of phones, and not once did we ever short or damage a phone because we were using metal tools. The risk is so small not even worth worrying about. With the battery connected though, its a different story and you can easily short it. :)

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 років тому

      not sure where you can find a mainboard for it, you would need to check on ebay. Your best bet would be to find a damaged phone that has a working board and get it like that.
