    Fantastic Sasha ! I like your take on this; clear and concise, and practical. There definitely is something to the melodic minor and all of its degrees, and I think that it's related to the hybrid character of both the half-whole dim scale and the whole tone scale. To me the fun starts when the sound is somewhat familiarized and you can start playing around with phrasing etc.
    Thank you ! And that tone is great man !

      Hey Bro! Thank you so much! I totally agree! When it all melts together while PLAYING (not PRACTICING), this is where the magic happens! And yeah, I like that tone of the #humanbase too! 😊And, I'd love to see and hear more of your playing on UA-cam! You are such a great player man! 💚

      Hey Brother! Thank you. Let me say: Progression through reduction. I am giving lots of examples in this video. Pick out one as a start to focus on and expand, with low Tempo. My personal Tip: Take the 2 - 5 - 1 focusing on the 5 (V alt 7). since there are a lot 2 - 5- 1 out there. Maybe my new Gwizdala Video can help you with that. Have fun on your journey. :-)

      Hey my friend. With this video I already showed you. You can apply these scales and methods 'easy' on ',All the things' since it is full of 2-5-1's, tonics and dominants.
      Start with deciding for one scale like for example MM1 over every 2-5-1. Use the parallel minors. These are in the following order:
      Fm, Am, Cm, Em, Em, Fm

    Great lesson brother sounds fantastic. I look at Melodic Minor slightly different to you based on John Stowell’s and Matt Garrison’s approach. Which gives a similar sound but the starting points and the vibe of the sound is more major sounding.

    so if you call MM1, MM2 etc to the modes of the melodic minor I guess you call ''Mayor scale 2'' to the dorian mode and ''mayor scale 3'' for the phrigian.... Also, some modes of the melodic minor are not minor..so why would someone call mm1, mm2, mm3 to different modes.. ?.

    • @SaschaOnBass
      @SaschaOnBass  8 місяців тому

      Hi Esteban, it’s not common to call the degrees of the major scale “major scale 1”, “major scale 2” etc. The common terms are “ 1st major degree 1”, 2nd major degree” etc. But even if so, one who knows the major degrees would know what is meant with a term like “Major scale 2”, probably. The Numbers in harmony and melody - among other things - help to orientate and they are abbreviations/synonyms for easier communication.
